  1. Just realized I posted this in survivor HQ :\ Someone needs to link me to something referencing my level of iQ
  2. You're bugging out and being put in to the debug world. This could be because of a few reasons - someone also in debug killed you before you could fully log in, someone has been hacking on the server and it's begun behaving strangely, or the server is just playing up and having trouble reading/writing to the hive.
  3. I personally have only had good experiences with Berenzino (besides the artifacting at times). It's generally my go-to place for gearing up, and on my off days I will generally live there. It has everything you need, and I guess I just get lucky but there's always something there for me. My first time logging in on the new patch I found in the tent and M4A1, an AKM, and ammo for both. I think you just rocked up after someone has cleaned most of it out. There are other reasons why Berenzino is good though, hardly anyone goes there and when they do it's generally only 1 or 2 people. They are very easy to hear or see when they are entering, it's not a place where people can generally sneak up on you and if they do there's plenty of cover. My clan and I have had some epic times up there. <3 Berenzino BTW, anyone else starting to feel like the north is much safer than the south?
  4. Yeah, next time this happens, after the point where you chop his legs - grab some flares from in the school, drag his body out in to the courtyard in front of the building and throw flares down around him. Then shoot at the ground (not at him), return to the building and watch the swarm of zeds eat him alive. That will teach him for trying to kill someone with a Makarov.
  5. Yeah leave it in game, people are going to find your stash eventually but the fun is about how well you can hide it so that it takes the longest possible time. If people keep revealing base locations, soon there won't be any unknown locations left. People find some pretty ingenious places to put their bases, I personally would like to see them be discovered by players individually rather than having a "quick reference chart to base locations". Ruins the game for me. Best example I guess is think of the feeling you get when you stumble upon a really good stash, and how dull it would be if it was just part of a routine scout.
  6. Here's the lifecycle of a hack. Creation > Use > Detection > Reoptimization > Redeployment > Repeat Cycle As soon as they ban a script on BattleEye, the coders behind the scripts and hacks get straight back to work making one that isn't detected. Name one game where the hacking protection service completely ridded a game of hackers, it's the same as piracy, it will never go away.
  7. The touchpad, almost as evil and cunning as the windows key. Another tip for players, don't alt+tab out then click the icon to get back in, use alt+tab to get back in to the game. Had a clanny misfire several times because he clicked back in to the game and it registered the click as a shot.
  8. EU servers are luckily mostly absent of hackers. I think a few UK servers have some issues but for the most part it seems fine. Only time I ever ran in to a hacker was on a US server. Not trying to start a "your region's players are hackers!" flame war, just saying maybe try jump on a different region for a bit and see if you have a better time.
  9. This story would have been much more epic if it was "I was in my secluded sniping spot up north" Honestly, the coast is like shooting fish in a barrel, it's only good for hunting clans killing noobs on the coast.
  10. My clan mate saw a bunch of people with a UAZ standing around it near the coast, so he ran straight through the middle of them, jumped in the UAZ, ran one of them over and then drove it straight in to the ocean. We found their clan later, they found another UAZ so we stole that too and began driving around. A few hours later one of our scouts in Cherno said that a clan was driving a van towards Elektro. We set up next to the road in a field, waited for them to drive pass and blew the tires. They hopped out and tried to make a run for it, we shot a few in the legs but they all ALT+F4'd. Their van must have been from their camp because it was loaded with high-end military grade weapons. After taking that we saw a new player calling out and sprinting towards us, obviously wanting a ride, so we drove straight over the top of him and continued on our way. They tried to hunt us down at some point, one player tried to grenade us and ended up killing himself. Good times all round.
  11. daniel.owens@iqu.com

    Help maybe?

I'd come help you, but in my current life I have ghillie, nvg, dmr, m4a1 sd etc etc. Wouldn't want to lose it all :(
  12. Do you just roam these forums being a negative nelly all day or do you actually contribute something? Lighten up dude :) even if it is staged, this guy has as much right to share his video here as anyone else. Much love <3
  13. ^this, plus with a standalone lets make it decaptitations for hatchets and i'm sold :D
  14. Not sure why everyone is acting like DayZ is a twitch shooter and needs a mouse, I personally prefer a mouse but I can't see how a decent console player would have trouble... I have had so many people try to shoot me at point blank range, empty out entire clips and miss completely before I casually turn around, slowly aim, laugh, and pop a bullet in their head. Speed doesn't win in DayZ, only patience, positioning and taking accurate shots, spinning your mouse and trying to headshot someone at the same time will just lead in your bullet flying off in to the mountains :P all you anti-CoD posters seem like you play DayZ more like CoD than the people you're trying to troll. Derp Derp.
  15. I have found that clan life solves most of those problems :P trust no one but yourselves. We don't spend too much time on the coast though, so no one is really friendly up north :D
  16. No one has made a comment about OP's profile pic yet, something's wrong with the forums today >.> Good luck setting up your group, too many people take the road of bandit these days. Just don't expect to get anywhere fast, things take a lot of time and patience in DayZ. Take your time, do things properly and you should one day see your helicopter :)
  17. It's so heartwarming to see the gamers of today so willingly supporting developers.
  18. This is just solid proof that when you actually take some time to sit down and do some research, you are more likely to have a smooth and enjoyable experience. It will only get easier from here on in, more people should take from your example.
  19. Think of it like this, when you approach someone who you want to team up with or an area you search, you would put yourself (hopefully) in a position that has a good chance of you coming out unharmed. Bandits play under the same mentality, you should actually be proud to have been killed by this guy, he actually put some effort in to his kill. He saw a target, had some extra supplies and put himself in a position that would most likely see him come out on top, he gained your trust, minimizing the risk of a firefight. It's also something I put in my beginner's guide, a lot of people told me to only trust people if you add them on skype / teamspeak etc because bandits like to be anonymous. I laugh at this advice, I know so many bandits who are quite happy to jump on Skype or TS and laugh at you why they kill you, or merely as a tool to gain your trust. Just because you can hear their voice, doesn't mean they aren't anonymous. What can you really do or gain by just knowing what someone sounds like?
  20. Heli's are very hard to obtain, they wouldn't want to risk losing it to someone with a hatchet :P You probably shouldn't run at them yelling through direct communication, try sneaking up on them and jump out screaming instead.
  21. The games learning curve is a little steep to begin with, but you will catch on pretty quickly, just have patience. Read this tutorial if you are still having trouble: http://www.mmogames.com/gamenews/5442/the-ultimate-dayz-beginners-guide
  22. Have a look in the bandit or survivor forums for clans that are recruiting in your timezone, otherwise just have patience. It can take a long time to do even the smallest tasks, that's just part of the game, but you are generally rewarded for your paitence so stick in there. As for tips, give this a read: http://www.mmogames.com/gamenews/5442/the-ultimate-dayz-beginners-guide
  23. Patience, and willingness to learn.. and die. It takes a while to figure the game out, but once you do it becomes very clear very fast. Give this a read if you're still having trouble :) http://www.mmogames.com/gamenews/5442/the-ultimate-dayz-beginners-guide
