This is what annoys us the most. If this is their way of thinking, then quite frankly it's insulting to us. What happened to the days of developers posting news on THEIR websites first. Now it's splashed around on 100 social media sites. Here's an old idea guys. Update the webpage with news, no matter how small, the social media sites can feed from that. Now see this rational proposal get beaten down by the neckbeards with their fingers in the ears as something slightly negative is said about the dev team...

No... just no. You tried being clever by saying "you mean doe!!!! hawhawhaw". The fact here is that you saw the connection between 'doh' and 'doe'. As you think you are super clever, and no-one else could possibly make the connection, you thought "hey! I can make a comment and show the forum how witty I am!" Instead you come across looking like a tool. Well done

Black and White was mediocre at best, many would say grossly over hyped. Let's be honest, development on this game IS slow. No denying that. They were upfront about taking a couple years more to release a 'finished' product, so good on them. And to the 'person that works in software dev' who thinks adding more people to the DayZ team won't speed up development.. wow, just wow. Ultima Online was launched within about 2 years of starting development. This was an ambitious game for it's time, much like DayZ really. 2 years to do everything, engine from scratch. They had a large team and money behind them. Point is, money CAN (if certain people arn't greedy) speed up the development of a game, and the game doesn't have to be generic shooter #232. It's probably best just to.... relax. It'll be done when it's done, and not a moment before!

They should have 'official' servers. These are named accordingly, ie "US Offical Server #1 - hosted by blah blah". No admin powers on them, thats right the server owner can't even kick people. If it happens to restart frequenty (ie a local admin physically takes it offline), it is blacklisted for a time. Would ISPs still be willing to give up 'control' of their servers for this? I dare say many would as they get to be 'official' hosts. Anyone else can have their shitty private hives. This is really the only way to stop admin abuse. People say 'report the server'. Damage has already been done and who's to say reporting always gets a result?

A friend and I had a similar problem last night. Could hear eachother in game, and couldn't even see each others chat in direct chat. Trying a different server fixed our issue.

Exactly. And this is why they will do this timer in every situation. All those wanting 'instant log out on crashing/dcing' are living in la la land. There is no way, absolutely no way, the server can ever know the difference between a crash or disconnection, and some neckbeard resetting his computer or modem. It's not that big a deal...

I highly highly doubt it was removed because 'people were writing racist messages'. Rocket wants a game where people play how they want. I mean if it's ok to handcuff someone, strip them down, then shoot them in the head. Then why would rude/racist messages matter? The world we live in today. Political correctness gone mad, worse to play a racist than it is a murderer. So yes, would HOPE it's not due to this reason or I'd be quite dissapointed.
