  1. This topic needs moar Dalfy. But seriously, Beo, I'm glad to see shack back up! Panthera caught my eye awhile back when it first came out privately. I never said much to Lance or anyone but it looked quite fun. Hopefully i can play on it soon! And about the loot tables, i think Garrett knows a thing or two about it so you might want to talk to him. Removal of .50's and thermals are great IMO. Whoever thinks they need to be in are honestly shit. They make the game too easy and broken.
  2. Me and a couple friends were talking about shooting one down with the m136 yesterday actually haha. Sadly, i don't pick up an m136 when I have found them. I don't normally go to the NWAF, but on Lingor i found 2 in the same barrack O.O. They never worked for me anyways, i thought they were still bugged and just made the noise.

    I'm not for sure about Chernarus, but on Lingor you can detach the NV scope and it is added to the tools. I haven't had a chance to try it on Chernarus, though. All you do is right click and it will say "detach scope". It's probably just a Lingor thing if nobody has said anything about it.....

    To put a gun in your backpack you need 10 open slots, not 8. And yes, the loot spawns around it, mostly close to the heli. And just prone by the zombies and you won't have to deal with them :P

    The map is still quite large. Sure, it isn't nearly as big as Chernarus, but i played it yesterday and it's still a big open world. I like it better so far, the tropics are so much cooler than dull brown Russia... And multiple heli's is always a plus. Me and some friends almost have ours up and running.

    I understand this, I didn't mean right away, I meant once it was an option for it to be added in. Right now I want fixes for the small bugs and exploits more than anything lol! And cragzeek, I'm downloading it right now B)

    I have the wiki open in another tab haha. I just don't see why Rocket wouldn't like it except for it not being his map and mod. If they added it though, I think everybody would play it being a new map to explore.

    As the topic says, I have heard about this, and checked the wiki, but i don't understand. Is Rocket against the idea of it as the wiki says? Personally i would love a new map. I like Chernarus, but a tropical type environment sounds pretty cool and refreshing. What do you guys think about it? Sorry if a topic like this has already been asked, i didn't use the search :P

    I like when the waypoint is turned off. My friends were kinda sad that 128 didn't have it, but personally i like having to use the compass and map. Reading the map was never a problem, even as a newbie. I just have good feel for direction i suppose!

    I have noticed that zombies spawn MORE now than they used to, and im loving it. I was at a stable just south of Vybor last night riding a bicycle. After about a minute i had 20+ zombies on me. They have changed they zombies entirely IMO. Now they aggro from insane distances, and spawn twice as many as they used to. I used to see 3 group spawn at most houses and deer stands, but now i witness two spawns with 2 or 3 zombies. So, i think they have changed zombies. I know i can't be the only one who has noticed this!

    Haha they thought my tractor was sexy! But yes, it was blown up haha. I will start recording encounters with MSI Afterburner. We should make a youtube, i think that would be cool to see our server on there and hopefully get a good amount of views. And everyone keeps swarming our camp, but nobody has had a any success if we have been there with 2+ our our guys. We have a ton of murders now haha. Keep trying!

    Dalton is my IGN and that was my pickup i drove from Zelenogorsk lol. If you kill me, kudos. But if i find you in camp, you will probably get a round in the back of the skull again! And btw, no camp we have found has been hidden at all. Ours isn't either, really, but i have'n't seen one that was better. That was our camp, not the list that was just posted. And yes, you all will continue to die.
  18. First off, I don't intend for this to be a thread to argue over what should be done about the new Arma 2 update that is affecting DayZ. I just want to how you my perspective, obviously. The change to the Enfield seems somewhat off, but maybe it is for the better. I do not use the gun that often, but if i find tons of ammo for it, then yea i might give it a go for the hell of it. Killing players with 1 bullet makes sense to me, since it is firing a .303 round, which isn't a small round. I understand that realism isn't always sought after, but this mod does base off of the mil sim. The best thing about the Lee was that you can find it nearly anywhere! Most people drop them, so you find em at markets, fire stations, military tents, etc. and with plenty ammo. Also, being the the anti-sniper weapon available at the start of the game, makes it ideal for unarmed characters. For the Enfield, I don't know what the plan on doing, whether buffing it back up or keeping it the same. It doesn't affect my gameplay style in the slightest. The pistols seem to cause the most commotion from the community. For these, I really don't stand on either side for they are just secondaries. They all fit their individual roles, and do them well. Sniping? Hopefully you find an M9 SD if you want to be quieter, especially if you attract zombies. Clip size? Give the G17 or normal M9 a go, again, if you can find them. Having trouble finding ammo? Maybe try the Makarov since the ammo is literally, EVERYWHERE. It may not be a PVP weapon, but if you have good aim on zombies, then it's not bad at all. The .45's seem to be the biggest concern. Personally, i would like to see them be 2 hit kills on zombies and 1-2 on humans as well. Headshots are still OHK, of course. The reason I think it should 2HK zeds is because they are undead! Sure, they are weaker than survivors, but the reason why they are lethal to people is because the hit those vital body parts that zombies don't need! All kinds of zombies in movies and other games walk around with no arms or legs, and none of their organs have a meaning, so to me, 2 shots seems appropriate. Again, just how i think of it. I also see people post things like, "Too many weapons with the same damage, not much variety." Well, to me, if they shoot the same caliber, then they very well should do the same damage. Sure, IRL one gun might have faster velocity, but i don't think the Arma engine has all those specifics. And if the engine does, please tell me because I'm not saying I know the engine in and out. I have no clue haha. But the 9mm's should do the same damage. Maybe the SMG's should do like 300-600 more damage because they are stronger guns, but again, they fire the same round. For the shotguns, pellets and slugs should have different damage values. Pellets should be pretty deadly within their range, And slugs should be above rifles for damage, but slightly IMO. I do not use these guns much either, so I don't have as much to say. Going by my thought of the bullet being shot, I know slugs aren't the smallest rounds, or the biggest. As long as they keep them usable, it's fine by me. Ak's being nerfed doesn't seem too bad. The only reason i see for this is being able to find them quiet easily, unlike the M4's and M16's. It gives full a reason now if you are close enough. I don't see this affecting gameplay that much, because chances are you will kill the other player if you see them first. And for the other rifles not being nerfed, i don't see why the sniper rifles should receive one. They all shoot at least a 7.62x51 if I remember correctly. To the leg you should survive, but a body shot would be hard to recover from. And the .50's should not even matter. I mean, c'mon! It's a gun designed to shoot through vehicles. Anywhere on the body should be a kill, because you would most likely die from blood loss anyway. I do not see any of those guns getting a nerf ever. Please let me know if I am wrong about anything i posted. And again, not trying to start arguments, this i just the way i think about the nerfs. Sorry if I had grammatical errors, or used too many commas because i usually do lol. If I missed anything let me know!

  20. Have you ever had anybody try and take over? Seems like its impossible to do so with the combination of bear traps, snipers, and thermal scouts!
  21. Our group is looking for some new members. Currently, we have no name, and we are at about 6 active members. Some things we would prefer: - At least 18 years old - Have a mic and Vent - You must have a little experience with the game, we can still help if you are rather new, but we prefer you to be quick in the menus - Be ready to do anything to survive. We are not bandits, no, but we will KOS at certain areas like the NWA and Stary, etc. just because we don't want to lose a man. We sometimes watch the randoms and see what they do, but if they raise a gun they take a bullet from someone. We only trust whoever is in Ventrilo with us. If we find newbies with no gear, we help them, and then give them an option to leave, and to not try anything funny or they will die ;) If you are interested, send me a PM. I don't know how much longer i shall be on tonight, but i will get to them all tomorrow. And we play on US servers by the way, and already have a "home" server.

    You won't find many people to trust, obviously, but eventually you might find that other survivor that shouts the same "FRIENDLY" over his mic. I find if you can join people with vent/ts then they dont kill you. And CH:On means cross hairs on, not chat.
  23. Last night, on server US 467, me and 3 buds were running on the hills from Cherno to Balota. We take a second to stop and eat and drink, and then our guy Mike is like, "Guys we have some movement...Do you see that?". We then spot 3 people running at the bottom of the hill and they were heavily armed, AKM's and an M14 AIM. We were about to open fire when my friend Lance said, "Guys wait, watch this." He pulls out the M16A2GL he picked up at a firestation in Elektro and loads a HE round into the beast. One prefect shot from the high explosive probably gave the three amigos a heart attack as the 'You are Dead' screen pops up out of nowhere for them. After the smoke clears, we see the damage has been done and they had no chance in surviving the blast. Bodies looted, and soon thereafter hidden, we proceed to Balota still amazed at the triple kill we just witnessed. By far the most amazing thing I've ever heard of or witnessed in DayZ! I just wish i would have frapsed it... >_> We dont always shoot on sight, but they were heavily armed and we couldn't pass up the chance! Anybody else had a triple kill in dayz?
  24. Haha yea I haven't killed anyone with a grenade yet either! I'm just waiting for some fool camping in a firestation with the doors closed! And thanks for all the beans fellas! :D
  25. I'm looking for players that want assistance in Chernarus. I've been killed many a time where if I had a partner or group I would have easily walked away without any problems. I just recently found a heli crash and then the next day the server reset and i lost everything. Walked into Stary's military tents a little walk later, and then got shot after an attempt to friend someone. I was unarmed, so no real loss. I would prefer anyone 16 and plus years, but as long as you are rather mature it really doesn't matter! I'm 18 and usually play anytime, it just depends on the day. Not too new to the game, I know the hot spots well enough and how to get there mostly without a map.
