I hear ya. I had the same problem with one of my friends. His ping was well into the 100s and I limit mine to less than 100. The only way I could think of was to raise it and kick manually with RCon. But that is too much of a pain in the @ss.

Its going to be alot easier if everything just saved to the server pretty much like it does now on ARMA2. I can see how things could change quite a bit. This is happening now, without a passworded server. Unfortunately my clan does not play this game. We have well over 75 members. If, they all played we could all hop on that server as soon as its started and have it locked down easily. I have seen this on other servers. The game is setup to offer this now. I wanted a server for myself and my friends to call home, so that we would have a place to play. A place that we could keep "hack-free" and fair. You know well as I do that this game is extremely boring without the "consequences". By consequences, I mean the reality that the game tries to put in place and the limitations of your character in his/her environment. The problem is that these consequences are being forced into the game-play fabric by a set of rules and not software. The software we do have to ensure fair gameplay, rarely works and it does not enforce a lot of the "other" problems. @Vipala "Only way that would work if you were limited to 1 server and thats it. Seeing as this is probably the main goal of the game, "Farming" or "scavaging". Anyone who does this, wants to do this or has done this has at least had to spend lots of time doing it. Hackers make their shit appear instantly. I do not at all condone this behavior at all but, this is a problem that the hive presents. @Schalart Can I get an Amen AMEN @BonnyBrown "Just figure out how to make a private server with a separate hive if you want to lock it down so bad, there's plenty of resources out there if you want it that bad." This is exactly what I am going to do. Once I have done this, I am going to invite people to play and they will have a "sanctuary" away from all this! Then they can come play on a fair 95% hack free server. No DCing, No Hopping, Almost Never Hacking.(nothing is ever 100%) But it can get close!

Really? I have never found a pair of NVG's. I have played this "MOD" since its inception. I play mostly at night. You do not need NVG's to move around at night. Common sense, moonlight, flashlight, flares, chemlights, preferable a Glock 17 with the GTL21 already attached to it in the game.

We are way past the point of these rules and prohibitions. There are 100's if not 1000's of servers out there. Why cant we do this is beyond me. The only answer I get is: DERP, admin or his clan will farm the server DERP. Oh OK,, yeah...maybe some asshats will. In the meantime lets just let hackers spawn anything they want without farming anything. With unlimited access to any server(unless they just so happen to get caught). Yeah thats a great Idea.

I agree with the OP. Its because an ass of people who play COD buy a game they have never played before. Only to play a mod of that game, come in and start shooting everyone cause they think their kill count is going to merit some kind of recognition from other players. I am not saying that pvp is bad but, when you only have enough imagination to say" derp, I'm gonna hang around this town on the coast and just start killing people cause they'll think i'm great and i'll think I am great cause I am better than them. derp." Its alot different when your coming into town to pick up some supplies at the store or looking for some ammo/guns in a barn after you just spawned and you kill someone for their shit cause you NEED it. Not just cause you could kill them. That is what COD is all about. Well who ever has the most kill is good at a video game! Awesome! Congratulations you killed someone who had no way of defending themselves. Well, this is what it leads to. When I first played this game in April, It was pretty hard to run into some a-hole who just wanted to shoot everything that moved. People worked together more often than not. Then A-hole McGee's from every corner of the earth started showing up murdering everything. So....that is what just about everyone does now. Including me. I see something moving fast. I shoot it. Not necessarily just like that but you know what I mean. This game has gone from long-term survival to COD Zombies with a huge map. Thank God/Rocket for the fact that servers can run with only 30-40 players. If not, no one new to the game would want to play after getting killed by some A-Hole shooting everything he saw that did not move like zombies ur I had some jerk kill me after I saved his life. I killed the zombies that were on him. I healed him. He followed me so we could get him some gear. I gave him a pistol before we entered a town. 3 minutes after handing him the pistol. He shot me in the head. I know, I know, I'm a dumbass. If I could go back and do it all over again, I would kill the zombies that were on him, and then stand over him and shoot him in the face. I wish I could add an animation of me crapping all over his dead face!!!!!! RAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LMAO!

download the RCon program...its like a DOS prompt..create a new connection. Enter your servers IP and port number. Enter the password for your RCon. and then type this: MaxPing 100

how about a lil something for the server hosts who paved(payed) the way for the popularity of this game, only to be denied any rights to his/her server? (even the right to kick someone out of it if its full so he/she could play)

Anyone who is not renting a server/has a server will disagree with the locks. Those who are renting or part of a group will agree to password/locks. I think everyone should agree with the who killed who thingy. Admins have to understand that there are no public servers. Players need to understand what admins have put up with. Admins think they should have the right to password/lock their private server because, well, its PRIVATE and they pay for it. Players think they have the right to play the game, which they do. Admins need to realize that until this game is no longer an ALPHA, its gonna continue to have the communist type rules to ensure that everyone can play the game as fairly as possible. Players need to realize that Admins are players too but, they pay to play, unlike players. There are going to be so many copy cat games coming out soon that will be very similar to this game. They WILL have private and public servers. Which means Admins will have the right to password/lock their server. Those who are not Admins, need to educate themselves about what Admins can/cannot do. Which is pretty much just stop/start the server. That is very frustrating because in every other game, they have the right to lock/password their server. Not every Admin wants to "FARM" the server. If you ask me, certain people, whether they are Admins or not, want to farm the server. Just because Admins have the power to lock/password their server, does not mean they want to Farm the server! If there were no people who were willing to pay for a server, only to have no rights to it, than NOONE would be playing DayZ. I get sick and tired of people complaining to me that "Your server went down!!!! I am Reporting you. You have to keep it up!!!. Oh really, well, how the hell can I update the thing or FTP to check logs if its up???? I am going to get you in trouble." I got kicked from your server cause " My ping is too high". "I am telling on you and I hate you!" Sorry dude but if you find a server that has a ping of 350ms and you connect to play on that server, you are lost. Or on this forum, "All Admins are jerks, these assholes pay so I can play and they want to be able to control their servers. Who the hell do they think they are." "These Admins just need to shut-up and and make sure that I can play." This is how it sounds to me when I read the posts in this forum. Or when players tell me I need to make sure not to upset them or they are going to tell their congressman. I run one of the many thousands of servers, and I never lock it. I have configured battleye to auto-kick anyone with a ping over 100ms. And thats about it. I stop the server when I need to update or if something is wrong. I start it after updating or checking logs. Yet I still get crap from players about every little thing. My E-mail address is in the MOTD. Every other day, I get an Email from some twirp about how I shutdown the server because he found a vehicle, or found a gun, or shot someone. People I have no idea what the hell your doing in the game! And stop telling Admins what to do! Cause if you are not a member of the DayZ Dev Team or the Provider I rent my server from. I don't care what you say.

That copy-cat game coming very soon. You know, "The War Z". Yeah its going to have private and public servers. Private and Public! I really do not mind the rules too much. I think the way that they have been put forward is a little rude. But it makes players think that I have to kiss their ass. I kicked a guy for having a 240ms ping. My server clearly states in the name and motd, no pings above 100ms. His friend asks why I kicked him. I told his friend why. Then his friend asks about his own ping. I told him his ping was 41ms and that it was good. He says "ok, cause I know the rules you have to follow, and if I get kicked. We are going to have a problem". I wanted to kick him right there. But, I did not say anything or do anything. That shit is just rude. Hey asshole, thanks for paying so I can play. BTW you better kiss my ass or I'll get your server burnt to the ground. OK?!?!? I'm kneeling, so start kissing!!

Funny. I like the way he uses eloquent words to support his claim to a high IQ. I would like to know what he thinks his IQ is. If, he really ever had been through a real IQ test and not some garbage on the internet. I had someone tell me years ago that their IQ was 225. That would make him like a god. They obviously did not know what an IQ was or what the quotient means. There are actually 3 different standards to testing an IQ. Each standard of testing is rigorous and takes hours on end. Seeing as the average IQ of human beings is 100. 115 and above are highly intelligent. 135 and above are considered genius levels. I took an IQ test when I was in 10th grade. I scored a 125. But that does not mean anything because intelligence and knowledge are two different things. It's funny that people confuse the two. Take for instance his claim to be an "expert" youtube user. It is not something I would brag about. His knowledge of how to use youtube has nothing to do with intelligence. People who are not intelligent can be extremely knowledgeable in certain subjects and areas. This makes them seem intelligent and they may even think so themselves. As someone mentioned earlier, those who brag about their knowledge and attribute it to their intelligence usually are not very intelligent at all. If the OP was intelligent. He would have skimmed the internet or the forums first to find posts made by rocket. Seeing as he is an "expert" youtube user, he would have deduced that Rocket must have some profile or account with reddit, this forum, and even youtube. After exhausting him/herself finding said account, he would have contacted Rocket directly. Instead.... well you know the rest of the story.

Host probably got tired of running it. Factor in that it costs 40$ a month to run it, and having to keep up with everything. This means that servers are going to come and go! I am thinking about getting rid of mine. There really is no point in having my own server. It does not benefit me to have one.

unfortunately...310 is a pretty high ping. Are you sure those servers are in your country? I have a server in NY NY USA with a ping limit of 100ms and I live in Augusta GA USA. My ping to the server hovers @33ms. New York is pretty far away from me well over 1000 miles.

Yeah...i believe there is an old vote admin exploit. He/She must have thought you were implementing it.
