  1. Do you not think that this has something to do with CloudFlare? Since every request has to pass through that, maybe there's a caching problem. Anyway.... SecuredServers already HAS A GREAT ANTI DDOS mechanism in place, so CloudFlare really isnt needed. I'd suggest removing CloudFlare, changing to either LightHTPD or Nginx and optimize MySQL configuration to match. Watch server loads, and watch incoming traffic. @BrightBull there's no need for a 1Gbit for this website... Google serves between 1-10GBit depending on location, sites like MinecraftForum are on 1Gbits (Curse Network).
  2. Or just manually patch? http://arma.patchandplay.com/
  3. @Jackster correctly optimized service configs for MySQL / PHP / Webserver will allow caching (x-cache?) and that would speed up most site page loads, for the database lookups, a properly posistioned localhost MySQL with some features turned off, would run perfectly.
  4. @DeathDealer117 -- Six Updater/Launcher sucks. Irrelevant of what it can do, it doenst do it well. Its program is sloppy and the entire interface just is confusing for anybody to even look at, never mind use in the intended function. I would never use an updater like this, I always use the programs "auto update" feature, or use patch mirrors from reputable sources, 'or my own mirrors' to update. inb4 "six launcher haters"
  5. Happened to me once, however I knew where abouts I was, so I just ran, by looking in the direction of clouds, auto-ran with a bic-pen lid between my W key and went to make a drink and something to eat, came back with 4 zombies chasing me. Result!
  6. Hi to both @Vitdom and @Jackcrow; Firstly, Vitdom, you have no idea what you're talking about, for one, we're just offering a mirror service, we're not releasing "new" modified patches or modifications of the game. There's nothing immediate that flags up with my researching that would say this was illegal, and upon request, we would take the entire system down. How can you compare us with hackers? Hackers ruin the game, modify files, inject code. All we do is provide the EXACT mirror copy of a file on our servers on several locations. There's not much more I have to say to you, apart from you're completely misunderstood and should re-look into what any law governs this. @JackCrow Thanks for the defense, and the answer to your question would be that we're just offering manual patching, "double click to patch, basically". Using our service, you have a larger range of sources which, in the right location, increase your speed of downloading the file. We find that all of our servers download from the main website at ~20-200KB/s something which I find horrificly slow for a 100/1000Mbit connection. It's all dependent on your location however. SixLauncher I beleive is more Peer2Peer based and downlaods files from other peers, and DayZCommander uses the normal patch website.
  7. What does it matter that Arma2 is single threaded? SSD's are storage volumes... not cores? It would greatly help help the load speed, however it depends what the actual "method" of loading the game uses, weather it's bottlenecked from a bad hive server, or weather it's the server itself. with DISK IO.
  8. arma2 is a beast... It rips my 6870 to shreds on ultra, however I do have two active displays, so that is a contributing factor. You're going to need to spent atleast 200-300£ on a GPU to support "high end" settings. Otherwise, for £300 you can build a machine that would support arma, using the older "4850" GPU that I had, it's on ebay for about £50 and runs medium->~high settings quite well considering.
  9. Even my Radon HD 4850 1GB Card struggled with anything above "medium". Just got a nice 6870 that's running high @ 1080P quite well. Tried moving it up to "Ultra fuck off" settings, but it seems to lag a little too much for me.
  10. Due to "pinning" restrictions, we're no longer pinged, but will continue to update our servers. Please feel free to spread to word to your friends.
  11. Personally support this too. I think there should be a larger "public" list of "Verified / community rated" Mods / Sites, such as *ahem* patch mirrors and launchers.
  12. I beleive DayZ Commander checks and extracts from the main mirror. So if the main site is down, the Commander won't patch, and not sure how it will handle it. I personally manually update, much easier than letting "programs" automate it for me, and atleast I know that I'm patching to whatever the heck I need :']! EDIT: After about 4 hours of messing around with the OVH France server, Finally got a half-decent kernel loaded onto it and was able to get a webserver running to my standards. http://fr.chriseaston.info/ is now live! We've noticed a small bug with the fl.chriseaston.info showing some "broken" links, we're working on it, however these are low-priority as they are very old patches.
  13. Thank you for the kind words @HenryFjord -- I guess I was instantly just expecting users to download from "unknown" websites. We ran into some stupid problems with our France Node last night, kept failing and going offline, I've changed the OS back to the original that everything else it, Debian 6 32Bit (Small amount of ram!). And finishing the installation of a few things, we should have the patch mirror up within the hour.
