Someone at IGN told be the DayZ developers just added this feature this morning. However, I wasn't sure if that means they are WORKING ON IT, or it's already done.

Good call on all fronts. I just lack patience I guess, Since it's so easy to outrun Zombies now, I just book it to Cherno and Elektro, trying to gather anything I can find, and then high-tail it out of there. I just need to do it on a lower populated server I suppose.

So, I really enjoy this game. But i was curious about something: How do people cope with getting killed constantly by other players? I feel as though anytime I successfully make it to Cherno or Elektro to get supplies, just as I am about to vacate the city, I get sniped, or brutally murdered. Granted, there is no use bitching about this, since it is clearly part of the game, and not going anywhere, but how do you guys deal with it? Do you join lower populated servers? I do not want to ALT-F4, and will never chicken out. However, I'd like to get up North oneday and take on the airfields up there. Just frustrating at times, but maybe I just need to get a lot more skilled at DayZ before I start complaining.

Found the Patch, but still stuck on "Waiting for Host". Been about 10 minutes now. Bummer.

what's the password and username to download that beta patch?

There is obviously nothing more demoralizing than getting sniped from hundred of yards a way (good shot BTW), and losing days worth of gear you collected. That being said, is there anything against joining a low pop server to regather your gear from the big cities, and then rejoining a more populated server?

So, if you come across another players dead body, and that player STILL has everything on him, should you loot it? If you die, can you revisit the place you were killed, and collect your items back?

Is there a quick way to switch between using a rifle and a handgun? Without having to go in my inventory?

I figured as much. But as far as joining a lower populated server to gather assets safely, and with less probability of PVP, that is a legit strategy, yes?

Quick question. I noticed you can quit, and resume your characters status on a completely different server. I also find, as a noob (I've only played this game a week) going to Cherno or Elektro is almost a death sentence, being that I am more often than not, picked off by other players, never mind the high concentration of zombies. So, what keeps people from starting their own private server, password protecting it, and raiding towns with their friends to get supplies, then rejoining a more populated, public server, and competing for dominance? Is this a strategy? Or is it completely frowned upon?
