And perhaps there is a solution in that. Singles can be converted to a 5-10 bundled item, but cant be used when bundled. You have to un bundle them to use. so it means they can be stored 5 per item slot in a pack but are singles for use in your main. -

Were all friking clones! Haaarrohh Again in dayz standalone, we should have fairly deep character customization. In the meantime, I think when highlighting over a player the indicator should show their name. In the same way highlighting over a zed shows an indicator with the distance.

And unlike vehicles.... if you leave them for too long they can wonder off....that's what makes vehicles still an incentive. Maybe 24 hrs not In use.

If you simulated a reload by time delay with a reload animation, after each shot this should work. Alternatively, there are some repeater crossbows out there.... why can't it be a 5 shot with a slow rate of fire. I've used it once, I hated it because of the 1 bolt per item slot. I think some ammo should be stackable. Bolts when bundled shouldn't take up much room. Bolts should be able to be stackable items per slot. Capped to 5. (wow item mechanic) -
Bring back "Single Player" button please.

I'm thinking he disabled it because of the dayz single player mod.. and hackers. which really isn't a big problem. Just make a new mod folder called dayz single and put 2.3 in it. Then just swap the versions in manager. -
Hey rocket. I updated to 2.4 with the latest beta patch as the server I play on just updated from 2.3. Thanks for all the tents :P I had 2 tents setup.... I logged in and found about 15-20 or more all in a tent jungle of a mess sitting on top of one another.. took ages to pack them all and put away. It also duped one of the tents and all its items in it. crazy shit. Im assuming it only happened due to server update tent dupe bug?... I herd of tent dupes but this is the first time I ever saw it happen. Freaked me out.

I like anything that visually differentiates players that actually has purpose beyond vanity items. I think players choice between male/ female could depend on play style. Males could take more hits or have more blood and a higher melee attack damage. conversely females could have a faster run speed and are quieter. Tank vs rogue Basicly :P And for those that say oh but what about realism... there should be a balance between realism and creative freedom or game balancing. Everything in the game should have practical value to it. Chezch vest for example should be able to stack on top of backpack. Cammo suit should have body armor (hit increase) or another ability. Ghillie suit should have much lower zed sight detection. Nothing should just be a vanity item. -
I'll say this loud and clear for rocket. 18+ for AU comes Jan 1, 2013. I think depending on how its done, should be no problem.

I always thought clip was short for magazine clip. After looking at the differences, I guess that's kind of correct when you look at purpose and function. At the end of the day, Bandaid is a brand not an Elastoplast but everyone knows what you mean when you say it. As much as googling something. Sometimes while technically incorrect, some words become a generalized meaning due to social acceptance which eventually takes over and becomes the standard acceptable term. History tells us this. -
One of the only servers I can get on without connecting failure error. There's a hacker in electro massacring everyone. I didnt see him the first time I got killed. But when I re spawned and started making my way back to electro to get to my body I was on the coast and he popped in and wasted me again. No screens, but I can describe him Standard body skin. Black head skin, 50 cal sniper rifle. about 11:40pm Sydney time. Seems to have a zed no move hack on and must be able to see everyone's location. I managed to re spawn again on the opposite side of electro and get to my body and DC with my life. If your game enough... log in and see for yourself. I don't understand... I thought battleEye was meant to detect scripts and kick before they even get in. It's a pile of shit.

Of course in the end, All this UI change based on how arma 2 currently operates is a farce. Anyone that's seen the New Inventory system for arma 3 will know what im talking about. That and taking into account the weapon and gear customization functionality. All the current issues with arma 2 Usability are probably addressed in arma 3. Its probably more productive to forget everything you know about the current arma 2 Inventory UI and start from scratch. With being very mindful of the new enhancements for arma 3 that will potentially impact on inventory. Rocket is more likely to keep it in mind down the road if he takes notice. As a UX/Web designer, im keen to take a crack at a new UI design myself.. but id focus on where it will end up rather than where it is right now. Arma 3 Inventory UI functionality is a good place to start. Still nothing wrong with coming up with New Arma 2 designs though. It will still be around long after Arma 3 is here, Gets people talking too.

I'm in 2 minds about transparency. Transparency If you were rumiging through your pack looking for something head down in rl, would you really notice anything lurking in front of you? On the other hand I do see the importantance of still being aware of what's going on around u. -

Depends if they see me or not. If not, sometimes I will play tricks on them over com, see if I can scare them into dc. Never showing myself the whole time. That's about as evil as I get. Most of the time I'm friendly but keep my distance. I don't let em tag along and warn them not to follow. If I'm caught with one in the same building though ill leave them to it even if they are friendly. I only kill when Attacked. -
I think if its a private server you should be able to do what ever you want, but if its on the hive.... Well then.

Big improvement on the current one for Arma2/Dayz. However Im inclined to consider what can be taken out and done as diegetic interface (compass or the map for example) Far Cry 2 Did an amazing job of this from a UI point of view. Thats not bad... the GUI visual design is good. I just wonder what it would default back to with no bag... or something small like a vest thats a 6 slot. (suggest grey out so it doesn't look broken when 6) Tool tip I still think should hover over what ever item your on though. There seems to be too much of a disconnect between far icons from the tooltip box. (eye doesn't travel that far) Also there doesn't seem to bey any space to show gun img/info... unless the tool tip has a scroll. Overall however a great idea though. Great Job! -
2: Never said that, I just said Admins should avoid playing on their own servers so they are not put in a position where they might ban someone out of revenge or because a player found their stuff. Its to protect admins as much as the players. 3: I never told you anything, Don't make it personal because its not about you. I was talking about the job of being an admin and the risk that places a person in. Your perma ban for a hacker is totally justified.. dont know why you felt the need to bring it up though. Your replying to a post that wasn't even addressed to you.

It still stands, shouldn't be a perma-ban.. should be a 2 day - week ban first offense. Secondly, An admin's PRIMARY role on the server they host is BEING AN ADMIN. Not playing. My point about Admins of servers not playing on their own servers is actually pretty logical. Your wide open to biased decision making, you can not be impartial. Why do you think police are taken of cases where they have personal connections to those involved.

I think it should be XXXX was killed by player XXXX THis way we can better fight against hackers and griefers. Half the time we have no idea who's hacking unless we kill them.
