Options for servers is a good idea. Options for players is not.

Well that is the whole idea. To build 1st person only community and organize it and host own servers. It seems everyone wants all this on a silver plate. If this is something people feel strongly they should do something about it.

I would say don't try to fix 3rd person view, its impossible. Focus on fixing 1st person view so more people could enjoy it. I would also separate 1st person only hive so no one can exploit server hopping (gear up in 3rd person view). Whit this kind of approach there would not be a problem since you can choose to play 1st person only servers/hive. 3rd person view works fine the way it is, sure you can exploit it unrealistic way, so what? The 1st person only should be fixed to be more enjoyable and promote it aggressively so it would get its own player base.

So you think there is enough populated 1st person only servers? You should post them here so all can see, i think people don't find them if they exist.

No its not. Its better than Arma 2 style but not realistic. It should be done similar to free look, the immersion would be huge! I would jump from 3rd person servers to 1st person servers in a heart beat.

This is good example how your mind is set and fail to think what people actually want/says. You should think other people too, not just yourself. Exactly this. It is so unrealistic and broken when you are prone and want to see what is behind obstacle. For now your only choice is to rise up to your knee. Would you do this in real life if there is potential shooter looking at your direction? Or would you just peak over the obstacle exposing only your forehead and eyes? This is the biggest reason why i prefer 3rd person. I dont need/want the exploits 3rd person comes with, it is for now just more enjoyable to have more views than realistically you would vs have less views than realistically you would.

But you cant fix the limited peak abilities. That is the biggest problem for me.

Well thats just your opinion. Others have different opinion and wants to play with 3rd person. Why dont we give both "camps" possibility to play where they want and host 1st person only server and 3rd person servers?

Well in other topics 1st person fan boys wants the standalone released without 3rd person option, im sorry if you are not one of them, that one was not for you then.

So why wont you all go play in the same server? Its like you all stand front of a theme park where you all want to go but you dont want to go there alone so you all just stand there and try to force people in that dont like the theme park so you can go in when there is people inside. And while doing this you are saying "go in, i know you like it, you just dont know it yet"... you guys are kind of dumb arent you? So why dont you just continue convince people AND STOP FORCING THEM! For now the only enjoyable style of play is switching between the views.

This would have killed 3rd person for me. If i can use only one view in game session it would be 1st person. I just cant shoot with 3rd person view (i play on servers where is no crosshairs). The best and most enjoyable way to play for me is when i can switch between the views when ever i want.

Blaa blaah blaah, how many servers YOU need to play? Im sure you can find ONE 1st person only server that suits your needs if not, host one and get all 1st person fan boys to play there. It seems there are lots of them in this forum, should be easy. All of you just cry cry cry and dont do anything about it. Only solution you guys can figure out is to force everyone to play your way and make the game less enjoyable for lots of players. So selfish, shame on you.

Not "turn off the masses", lose some percentage of players and makes the game less fun for some players. Whit 3rd person option we make them happy and dont take anything away 1st person players since there is going to be 1st person only servers.

I totally understand why you use polls, im just saying its not accurate enough. So please explain to me, you guys who know that 1st person experience is more enjoyable wont go and find good 1st person server, if there is not enough players gather players through this community and go play together? Why would it not be? Yes, most servers are very different from the start of DayZ and most players populate these servers. You know why? Thats what people WANT. Im playing in servers where there is no lots of ammo/weapons and i play hero style. Yesterday i played 8 hours straight in one server only and came a cross about 20 players which about 15 was friendly when i started conversation early enough. Very similar experience than when i started this game. Sometimes i play straight PvP with my friends and im happy there is servers for that. When we have lot of options where to choose from its much better than force play only one style/settings.

I thought you ment it to be difficulty thing. Sorry if i misunderstood. But Wayze definetly said its a difficulty thing "the easy path", so maybe that confused me. My evidence is the server list. In my opinion people play in the servers that they want and thats the most accurate result you get. For the sales none of us can get it right, not even your precious poll. I rather say why disable 3rd person if there is anyway going to be 1st person only servers for those who want to play there. So let say there is 100 000 players in Standalone (probably much more eventually) and if it costs £20 and 30% potential players wont buy it BIS loses £600 000. Why would they risk it? Why not leave 3rd person in the game and offer 1st person only servers. Much much better solution. Only thing i would add is separate hives for the two views. End of discussion.

You did not answer my question. Do YOU take the easy path and why? If not, why wont you play in 1st person servers? In my opinion if people take the easy path thats what they want and no one should not force them to take the hard path.

And this prevents YOU to play on 1st person servers? How? Or any other individual (from those 2500 people)? Like i said there is 1st person servers for you that are populated and there is no large amount of ammo/weapons or any other "easy for masses"-setup. You insist shouting how 2500 people wants to play in 1st person servers and in the same post you say you dont know why they wont play there. Kind of funny. But seriously, do i need to guide one 1st person fan boy at a time to populated 1st person server or is this some sort of cult that none of you wont play unless all of you can magically play at the same time? No its not. There is less ammo and weapons than basic vanilla. And its not pay2win. Why would you think that? Explain please. You can only play in one server, why do you need lots of servers that suits your needs? I play only DayZero and i basically play only in one Chernarus server and one Podagorsk server, why would i need more servers?

1st person fan boys: you should go populate 1st person servers and stop complain about 3rd person. Simple as that... you guys sound like a cult.

Im not hinking that, i did not say that. So yes you are misunderstanding my point. I try to explain this: The game should be hard survivor game, not some carefully produced to masses kind of game. But this game should (and i think it will) be made little easier for the masses to approach it. There will be compromises so the standalone gets as much players it can but still be as near as possible to the hardcore game we all want. I hope you understand what i mean. Thats where you are wrong, we should be very very concerned about SA's sellings. Let me explain why. This game is designed in a way that it develops in time, same time we players are playing (and buying) the game. And when we are playing, we are marketing it on youtube and various other media. If the game is relatively easy for masses to approach (or to get interested) it will sell more. And when the game sells a lot it guarantees development for the years to come. Its a guarantee that the game has as much resources it needs to go forward and keep it alive. For example think about tv-series. There is numerous really good scifi-series that has been cancelled because it wont sell enough. Sure there is hardcore scifi-fans that love the shows but if it dont sell enough it will be cancelled. I think you get my point on this. I dont want it to be made only for the masses, only to make as much money possible, i want Dean to find best compromise between "game for masses" and "game for hardcore fans". There will be mods to standalone to please almost everyone anyway. And yes, when 1st person is as broken as it is right now i prefer 3rd person my self. I posted this earlier in some topic. I do not understand why you have to remove 3rd person if there is option for 1st person only servers. In these forums there is a lot of players who dont want to play 3rd person servers and still the 1st person servers are empty, why is that? I think there is enough players to populate 1st person only servers but for some reason regardless what they say here they wont play there. It is up to them to populate those servers, not to remove 3rd person and force all players to play there. At the moment there is no problem at all. Only problem is that there is only one hive for both. There should be two hives, one for each. But there i good private hives for 1st person only servers. You could play right now, highly populated 1st person only private hive servers without hundreds of vehicles and sniper rifles. Why wont they play? Why they choose to cry about it here? Removing 3rd person would be massive mistake in my opininon. Of course i would play without it, but i would not be happy unless the 1st person is fixed.
