Try a different browser? Try six launcher? Try finding a link on the Arma 2 Beta Patch forums? Find a link in DayZ forums to the beta patch? Try logging in anonymously? Try searching forums regarding the login information in the Arma 2 Beta Patch forums? Have a friend that downloaded it send you the .zip?

Hacked This.

OP hates Combat Loggers and Hackers. Wants Alt+F4 fixed, but understands additional problems with hackers that may result in a straight up "no alt+f4 anymore".

I'm gonna play DayZ for the first time tonight :D

Don't get attached to your items! Hahaha.... -

Dokrane replied to The Rock (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting

L2UseSnipers?

Mhm....

Lol. No problem. Hope it helps.

Infected are stupid.. so the ones on the back of the pack lose clear sight of you and forget why they are running. They don't necessarily succumb to mob mentality.

To fix one bug is to highlight others. It'll get fixed eventually.

There's too much wind in Chernarus...and it's not just the Beans.
Dokrane replied to Blackadder (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Never noticed the wind before. -
Are you playing on veteran servers? Regular and Veteran, along with 3DP/CH on/off the rate of dehydration and hunger is different. Regular, of course, taking longer. Could be due to a playstyle. Raid buildings with higher rate of Food/Drink spawns (markets!!). Refer to http://dayzdb.com/map when you spawn, on a Regular server, see if prioritizing specific lootable buildings increases your survivability.

Maybe talk to the DayZ Commander dev team? If they are using a language like C# .NET or something then their code is easily transferrable to a webpage. Perhaps you can set up a collaborative project of some sort.

Well, the whole point is for it to be difficult to get items. Some people are actually saying it's too easy to get piled up on gear. Perhaps a better solution would be to seperate the hive into sections of difficulty. If you start on a Easy server, lots of zombie loot and stuff will spawn, and as long as you join a server within that difficulty setting in the hive you will maintain your character. Joining a different difficulty, like Regular, Veteran, Elite, would reduce loot on zombies and in general, including absence of a crosshair, maybe forced first person, etc. As it is now, it's hard to accomodate everyone's lootability preferences and such with a hive-wide character. EDIT: If it is difficult to gear up and such, perhaps join a small group to increase survivability and to increase your loot?

Stuck in limbo. What is this {video}
Dokrane replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
Chernarus. Wilderness. At least you died and spawned there, I spawned there after a server restart with all my gear. Had to respawn. I've heard that ff you run SSE forever you'll get back to the map. Better to just respawn. -
Yea. Though I wouldn't expect the pilot infected to have those, but definitely infected military hanging around a base with tents, right?

At the very least, admins should be able to see this, and you should have the ability to communicate with them regarding the issue, where they can check the log and see who you are talking about. Seeing who killed you could cause a flurry of other problems for people. Like unjustified claims of hacking because they got lucky, etc, etc. For your consideration, however: 1. Hatchets aren't the most reliable weapon. The don't have a "swing" of damage. It's like a gun, you have to aim with the crosshair (or where it would be). 2. When you move, accuracy drops, do you may have aimed at his face but your hit zone may have been off. 4. If you were in his face hacking away, that might contribute to the issue. Many a time I've gone face-to-face, point blank with a zombie and hacked away, only to find debris puffing against a wall behind the zombie, as if I swung right through him. 5. Possible sync issues?

Ah yea good point. I guess we ARE survivors facing possible infection in actuality, and we are hording supplies, so we would have tons of loot if we became infected. I would say it would require some careful consideration if loot was increased on typical infected civilians. Perhaps they should have a lot more on them, but a lot of useless stuff that wouldn't contribute to survival. It wouldn't really be much fun if you shoot an Enfield, lure a a small village to a church and kill them all, then loot 18 bodies each with 2 cans of beans, 1 morphine, 1 pop, 2 epipens, 3 blood bags. That would ruin it. I like the scanging aspect, finding most survival items in places I'd expect them to be (hospital, market, firestation, airfield, etc.). I wouldn't expect infected to have anything of value in comparison to those areas, and with a rather small loot table of unique items, it'd be difficult to justify additional loot on the infected rendering city scavanging obsolete. What kind of "more loot in General" are you referring to?

I agree that it has been exploited, even clearly so on a lot of YouTube videos. It DOES provide an unfair advantage. Why not join a server with it disabled? Then you won't have that problem, and you'll even have the advantage when 3DP-accustomed kids join that server....

1. The thing is that a lot of players interested in DayZ are not interested in it because of the military simulation aspect. I, myself, only bought Arma 2 because I wanted to play DayZ. 2. There are servers that cater for hardcore gamers that prefer first person at all times, and yea, I agree, that would most definitely contribute to an intense sense of immersion. But forcing this would decrease DayZ popularity in the community, and restrict the target demographic. 3. There are other Arma 2 mods that are far more realistic and immersive, like ACE. The whole "fight in a zombie apocolypse" may be a luring aspect of DayZ, but perhaps other mods are more suited for someone like you, who wants the full blown, get-your-face-dirty-and-heart-pumping, first person perspective military experience?
-
Nah. The infected have little to no items, and that's fair considering they are infected civilians. Do you carry a can of beans on you at all times, just in case a zombie apocolypse breaks out? Maybe you do! Well, then you're that one zombie I killed last night that had that can of beans. Awesome. But not everyone does that, let alone carry drinks at all times or bandages even. Though, considering that logic, I'd agree with you that infected military personnel should at least have something realistic, like maybe always a heatpack and bandage, or always a magazine of some sort. Since realistically, that would be closest to what you would expect them to have.

This is awesome. All of the wallpapers are usually dark - this has a nice simplistic white theme. Beans to your sir.
