    Server Help Please

A lot of hosts don't provide access to the files needed to update via FTP. I'm not sure if gameservers does or not. I'm really surprised they offer DayZ servers but don't know how to update them. If you continue having issues with them I'd recommend find a host that is more experienced with DayZ. If you decide to do that, take a look at the link in my sig.
  2. OP updated to make it more inline with other server threads in this section.

    Vilayer 1.2.7.6?

That was an issue with the update they released a couple hours ago. If you check your CP again there should be another update that came out about a half hour ago. This one fixed the saving.

    Vilayer 1.2.7.6?

Everyone that has had issues with tents/vehicles disappearing. Go back into TC Admin and install the newest update. Then uninstall the mod and reinstall. They have now fixed all the issues with the newest release. Everything should be working as normal.

    Vilayer 1.2.7.6?

Just want to give everyone a heads up. They're rolling the update right now. Watching your email, they're sending out info on how to update. Also, just a note. After update, if you do not having any of your tents or vehicles just WAIT. They're still in the database but some people are having issues where the objects are not being found. They're currently working to sort that out. The stuff isn't gone, it's just not being called into the game properly.

    Reset vehicles

You totally missed what he's asking about. He wants to restart the server from a clean slate so all the vehicles will be at the original spawn location(like a brand new server). Different than a normal restart. Like others mentioned, the only way to do that is requesting a new instance ID. But I'm not sure they'd do that because the Heli is gone.
  7. Happened on my server last night. All players and vehicles were teleported to the woods just north of Elektro. Luckily everyone on the server was in Teamspeak except 1 person. It made figuring out who did it much easier.

    Vilayer 1.2.7.6?

I just submitted a ticket to ask them about it and they said they don't have a specific ETA other than very soon. "We do not at this time have an ETA on the latest patch other than very soon" I have no double they're working to get it out as fast as possible. Regardless, the biggest fix was the tents and vehicles which already work on their hive. The artifact fix would be nice but I'm used to them at this point. They also responded to my original ticket and a follow up question all within 6 minutes. I was kinda blown away by that.
  9. I found mine at the building by Skalka in the north west corner of the map.
  10. Very first primary I ever found was a Enfield in Cherno. I remember being super excited I found a primary. I then shot at a zombie and swiftly got swarmed by tons of them.
  11. Gee Imma sorry i dont spell real god. wish i waz smartz enuf to corct peepol on the internetz like u! If correcting grammar use on the internet makes you feel more intelligent, more power to you. If, in the future, I need advice on proper grammar, sentence structure, and punctuation, I know who to contact.
  12. All request accepted. Will be sending TS info shortly
  13. I just back from vacation so I'm behind on requests. Also, we have brought our server online. It's a 40 slot server East Coast server on ViLayer's private hive. If you don't like the idea of a private hive, keep this in mine. It's the biggest private hive out there. They have fixed tent and vehicle saving, they have taken much stronger measures to combat hacking, and they give us admins the ability to kick/ban without dealing with the normal red tape. The server is very fast and has great loading times. We're working on bringing a West Coast server online shortly. If you're interested in joining up shoot me a request on Steam.

  15. I was actually blow away by how much they're working. I was in their Teamspeak at 3am EST Friday night and Lee was in there helping people. I got back in there at 10am the next day and he was still in there helping people on 3 hours of sleep. I can promise to everyone, these guys are working HARD to fix DayZ and bring YOU the best possible experience.
  16. Whitelisting: There's no issue with Whitelisting if you sign up for the private hive. You're server is up pretty quick. I believe they say up to 24 hours to provision but mine was up within 45 minutes. You don't need to wait for an instance ID from the DayZ dev team so you're instantly part of their hive once your provisioned. Updates: They deal with all updates. They're pushed out to your control panel. It's pretty much as easy as click "Update". They push out the updates for their code along with updates for the mod itself. Support: Their support has been pretty good so far. They have a Teamspeak server that you can join for help. HOWEVER, that should be considered a bonus because they're not always in there. If they're in TS they'll help you out. Ticket response time has been pretty good. I don't believe I've waited for than 12 hours for a response, usually a lot less. Performance: My loading times are really quick. I've heard the same from everyone else I play with, 15+ people. Features: You have the ability to easily change configuration settings, the name of the server and the time of day. If you don't like playing at night, change the time and restart. They have also fixed the Tent/Vehicle saving issues. They have also fixed tent dupping. They have also taken extra steps to help combat hacking. They're actively working on adding more features and bug fixes. They're plans are to have a lot more to offer than any other host or hive. Price: It ends up being $38/month with the coupon code of 25%OFFGS. So that puts it up there with some of the cheapest. IMO it's a steal compared to most hosts. Hive Size: Their Lingor hive is really big. There's tons of servers that are fully populated. The Chernarus hive is not as big but there's still a pretty good population. I got my server on Saturday and had all 40 slots filled that night. You also need to keep in mind the hive is pretty new so it will keep getting bigger. I heard they host 40%+ of all DayZ servers so they have potentially have access to a lot of people to bring into the Hive. Admins: IMO this is the best part. You're no longer bound to the DayZ red tape to ban hackers. You have the ability to kick/ban whoever you want without answer to the Dev Team. This gives you far more control to deal with hackers. I've only had them since Saturday but I've been really happy with the experience. I'd recommend them to everyone at this point. In all honestly, I think the DayZ dev team should focus on the stand alone and leave the mod up to people like ViLayer. Note: If you decide to go with them, you need to purchase the "ARMA 2: DayZ Package server" . This this is the one that gets you onto their hive.
  17. What info are you looking for? I'm not an expert but I spent a lot of time in their TS this weekend so I know a pretty decent amount.
  18. Welcome to the 1.7.2.5. I just got my first server and with with ViLayers private hive. I'm glad I did. Tents and Vehicles work perfect and they fixed tent duping. Plus the hive is really active.
  19. I just want to jump in here and say I was skeptical of their private hive. Myself and a friend wanted to each grab a DayZ server on Friday. We went with the DayZ Package Server thinking we would be on the normal DayZ hive. After contacting ViLayers support to figured out how long before we got an instance ID we realized we were put on their Private hive. Initially I wasn't super happy about it. After spending a bunch of time in their Teamspeak and playing on my server, I'm sold on their hive. The hive already has a good population, my server was populated with between 25-40 people all weekend. Tents and vehicles save, we can change the amount of vehicles, tent duping is fixed, we can change the time, and they're actively working on more features. THE biggest advantage is no red tape when kicking/banning people. If you suspect someone of cheating, take care of them. Simple as that. In my opinion, ViLayer is top notch. It's been a pleasure dealing with their support. If you go in their Teamspeak you get to talk with the guys that are actively building this hive. They're taking all feature suggestions into consideration. Bottom line is they have fixed the issues that the DayZ dev team has not. Honestly, the dev teams should hand off the mod to people like the ViLayer folks and put all their attention in the stand alone. If you have any hesitation about going with them, put it aside. They're top quality and they're hive is great and only getting better. Plus there is a 25% off coupon so you get a 40 slot server for $38.
  20. Hey Everyone, I'm new to running my server so I'm trying to get some information. My server is a Managed server from ViLayer. I seems I have access to several different logs that I can stream live but they seem really difficult to tell what's going on. I want to make sure I'm vigilant and stay on top of possible hackers. However, watching the logs stream seems almost useless. Are there any tools that can connect via FTP and parse the logs in real time? Possibly displaying the data in a more user friendly manner? My main interest is being able to quickly tell if someone spawns in a weapon, has a hacked in weapon(through viewing their inventory), or is duplicating items. I did hear there was a tool that could detect a server wide kill and automaticly shut down the server. Anyone know about this? I've seen several different types of tools on here but it appears most of them are for dedicated servers. From what I've read, they will not work on a managed server. If someone on here, with more experience than myself, can point me in the right direction, that would be greatly appreciated.
  21. Thanks, been using Dart since I got the server up. Probably should have mentioned that. I'm starting to get the hang of watching the streaming logs. Kinda like reading the Matrix I guess.
  22. Thanks for the info, I had seen these in the getting started sticky. I was hoping for some tools that would allow me to be more proactive but I'll give these a go. That's what I've started doing. I've started to get an idea of what's normal. I was hoping for some sort of tool that comes right out and says "Hey, this dude is sketchy. You might want to deal with this idiot" But it doesn't look like there's anything along these lines.
  23. That's what I was worried about. I have several people as admins but doing it like that isn't as effective as I was hoping. It seems like dedicated servers have far more options. I may look into changing unless someone can suggest some tools I might have missed.
  24. Sarcastic humor is what we specialize in. Also good to have choices of good servers that are well taken care of. I'm going through requests in a couple hours. I'll shoot you a message then.
  25. Yeah, name is Spex. Will be getting to all requests in a couple hours. Thanks for add guys.
