Aha, i had updated BE everywhere else but there. I had no idea it was stored in AppData I will try and post back results, thanks.

I find a server in Six, launch through Six with the Steam Overlay without issue, no longer getting errors and the game loads up. After the Arma loading splash, I get to a black screen with "wait for host". I see the death messages of other testers, and the server MOTD (I think), but that's it. Chat has no name assigned, and I dont think anyone sees it.

My DayZ is currently 1.7.2.3 (I use sixupdater and launcher) I've tried ARMA2_OA_Build_94945 and ARMA2_OA_Build_94876

I've tried a few servers, no luck so far. It all started with "Error creating direct3d 9 graphical engine" and has evolved to this. It is progress, but very saddening. I'll keep trying servers, but this feels like something else.
