so, after a week or two not playing dayz, i go to launch the game through steam. it starts up, and i try to connect to my usual server. this is when i get my first error; you cannot play/edit this mission, it is dependant on files that have been deleted.chernarus i've seen this before. i update both dayz and ARMA2. same error. i update battleeye. same error. i do this for a while. now when i launch it says dayz anim requires something or other when i go to launch arma. then i get the same error as before when i'm in game. a while later it now says bad key given at startup. i uninstall arma2 and reinstall it through steam. same errors, but now when i try to launch arma2 it says profile.something is not found? and then another error about textures and .exe not being in the same place or something. i also cannot run arma2 CO via the batch file in the install folder, so i can't play normal arma2 i really have no idea what is going on here, any help would be great! thanks in advance guys.

mine does that, but only on some servers then again, i'm playing in 800x600 on a crappy old laptop, so who knows what it could be :L

well, my dell inspiron 15r plays it on the lowest possible settings (800x680) but it looks like a console game, and manages 15-20 fps on windows 7, 20-45 on windows 8, and it was something like £700 when i bought it (the i5 version with 4g ram, 1g ati mobility HD5000 series gpu)

i can't wait to get this, just hope my crappy laptop can run it :/

i like the migration idea, much like S0E01 of the walking dead. a group, stuck on a highway, having to hide from a migrating mass of zombies, that'd be badass!

god knows, arma is a beast, i have a crappy laptop and can run it in 30fps, my friend has a £2000 laptop and can run it at 40 :L

type in wasp or ivy bridge in a capture the island search, they're my favourite servers atm!

this game isn't graphically intense though, it's cpu intensive

hackers have half of the servers screwed over, but it's being dealt with now. what you have to bear in mind is this mod is in alpha. the standalone game is going to come out before the end of this year according to the devs, and will retail for a pretty low price, so that might sway your decision a little

hi, me and my friends need to find a new home server. on our current ones the vehicles and tents aren't saving properly, so we want to move, any suggestions? preferably one with BE script detection

press n to switch between night vision and thermal scope. i personally would've chosen the mod 0 or as50, just because they're powerful and useful, ad different to your other primary, but it depends what you use it for. my best tip for a chopper site is to throw a smoke grenade about 2 meters away from the nose of the chopper, it will attract all of the zombies ad you'll have 2 or 3 miuntes before they aggro on you

i think this would be pretty badass. being chased by 20 zombies because you're not stealthy in Electro? only have a crossbow and 1 bolt? lucky it's explosive then. turn round, pop the lead guy in the chest, watch them all blow up :D would also be pretty cool way to low up a vehicle.

COD weapons from the predator movies... yeah... agree :D that'd be pretty cool, just take the charge out so there's no shrapnel, therefore making it a smaller AoE

why not? could be crafted by using an M203 grenade and a crossbow bolt, just like in the Predator movie :D

if you're respawning in the ocean, log off for two dayas i think, then log back and it should be sorted, seen this advice on other posts, but dunno if it works
