Yet another 'player' (and I use the term loosely) who is the self appointed spokesman, sorry that should read 'spokesboy', of who should and should not be allowed to play/test DayZ. Get over yourself. You'll realise that the term 'sandbox game' does not just mean 'PvP' and those who are challenging themselves by seeing how long they can survive for are not 'carebears'. They are using the sandbox in their style, for their enjoyment, not yours. PvP is in the mod and PvP SHOULD BE in the mod but your blinkered, abusive and immature attitude is unnecessary. As for the use of 'HTFU' and 'GTFO', Eve Online called and they want their catchphrases back.

Sorry, I wasn't suggesting that if you consider a playstyle of others a 'problem' then you should adopt that style too and then become part of the 'problem' but I see your point. How do we break the 'must kill everyone' cycle? I don't know but it's down to the players to do it and that's how it should be. Rocket should not add any mechanics to punish players for killing imho (the Alt + F4 crowd however...). All you can do in-game is try I suppose.

Well done you. @ OP, Yes, this mod is different, it certainly isn't perfect and it very definately is in an Alpha stage. Have you considered changing your approach to the game or the way in which you play it?

Today the wife and I had the best day of, er well, DayZ we've had. We lived, we died, we lived again. We lived because we played smart, we died because we played stupid. We snuck into cities, we shot our way out of towns, we drank, we ate, we scavanged and looted. We found a heli crash (empty), we explored, we watched other players through our sights but left them alone, we made a camp and dined on fine steak by the warmth of a campfire. Best of all, we found a battle bicycle. Fear me and my tring-a-ling bell, fear me. Pointless thread? Maybe, but the forums don't have to be all gloom and everyone telling everyone else to 'gtfo' and there is more to the game than a .50 cal and a suit made of compost and cabbages. Oh, and 'Pete' if you read this thanks for saving my ass in Cherno church and then offering your help as I was a fresh spawn. Hope you enjoyed the rest of your day as much as I enjoyed mine.

This thread is more entertaining than the Olympics. I didn't realise the OP was heralded as the all knowing & wise speaker for the DayZ playerbase...oops, but only those who meet his exacting standards. Replace the 'murder' and 'bandit killed' figures with the survival timer. The number of player kills being tracked acts like a scorecard (and an incentive that killing is all that matters), ditch that and if players want to track their kills then they can have a post it note and a pen by their keyboard.

Whilst I agree with some of what you say, you sir, are an arrogant arse. Stop having a tantrum because other players prefer a different style or servers are using different (legimate) options. Dry your eyes, put your dummy back in and enjoy playing DayZ.

Well, my wife plays DayZ and uses the female skin and she expects nothing different from anyone else playing this game. She'll quite happily brass up another player be they male, female, bi-curious confused teenage goth, goat or suspicious looking tree. As far as I can tell no-one is dancing on mailboxes in this mod asking for cash or gear. As for me, I don't care who you are either. Act like a threat and I'll happily brass you up and I don't care what reproductive organs you have.

YES Spawning with no weapon has led to some of my most interesting and challenging game time plus a sense of relief when I do find one. Weapons are not too hard to find, people need a little patience when starting. "But we need to defend ourselves"....face it, that sniper/bandit will drop you anyway regardless of your pop gun.

That's a good point there Zetal. Let's say player A loots a 'headshot 3000 rifle with zoom-o-matic scope' and that is somehow tagged uniquely to player A (I'm no tech head so no idea on that part but you get the idea) and stores that in a tent by owned by Player B. Player A dies and that rifle despawns, Player B tent is unaffected. If we reverse that and player A owns a tent and player B stores something there and player A dies....how do we ensure that player B isn't unfairly penalised? Like I said, just a rough idea and always interested in others opinions.
