    Fighting Back Yet Unarmed

Beans for the tale and the use of the phrase 'undead legion'.
  2. I hope he was posting with no small sense of irony on your other useless post in which you drivel on about killing fresh spawns with your AK. You mock someone for 'being killed with a makarov' when you yourself have to resort to an AK??

    Why I kill unarmed players

Why is that those who kill unarmed/fresh spawn/new players feel the need to come on the forums and post some sort of self-serving, self-justifying drivel? Enjoy the 'bounty of ham', that bandage collection of yours must be awesome.

    The trolling goes on

Could I get a 1/4 duck with pancakes and hoisin sauce? Oh, and the wife would like some SIngapore noodles with that. Cheers
  5. At least he didn't alt F4 when you spoke

    Discuss: Your Spawning Strategy

Depends where I start. If I can I'll speed raid Cherno or Elektro, no sneaking or being subtle. Just run in grab what I can and scoot. If I'm too far from those then I'll head in country and survive on what I can find, which can be a good challenge. I certainly don't have a shopping list each time I spawn nor do I have a 'gear-r-us' tent collection to run to.

    Destroy vehicles safty?

Take off, nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure. Not watched that film in a while!
  8. Or stock up on supplies and go trekking out in that direction, see what you can find.
  9. A player with a mission. Good to see and good luck. My personal mission is to remove barbed wire where I see it, even if I don't want to loot the building.
  10. I'm torn over taking things 'off map'. On one hand it's a pain in the arse if everything has been taken... On the other it's a good use of iniative I'd prefer a percentage chance of vehicles breaking (thus needing new parts from the map) if they are taken off the map over the 'I don't have one so just destroy it'. The bottom line is that these guys have got organised, claimed the vehicles and are protecting their stuff I suppose. **EDIT - For the record I have no stuff stashed off map, nor any transport other than my virtual feet.
  11. Whilst making my way back down south to grab some supplies after another poke around the north I found a motorbike. Obviously I jumped on and roared around the contryside a bit, did some doughnuts in a car park and looked for some chicks to impress. Finding none I realised I'd need some fuel (gas for our American cousins) so found a handy tree and hid the machine there. On my way back to the bike I get into a firefight and take a rather nasty wound that ends up with me extracting from the fight with rounds yanging past me only to bleed out a short distance away. I respawn on the beach of broken dreams and give it my best Usain Bolt impression up to where I think I was killed. I manage to get there and find my body, my attacker has taken a few things like morphine, my compass and some tasty steaks I was saving but I'm able to get my AK back, Alice pack and most of what I owned before my messy death (thanks to whoever that was for not hiding the body whilst it was still reasonably equipped). Now I have my luggage and supplies I'm off like Mo Farrah to where I stashed the bike only to find that it is gone. Part of me dies inside at the loss. However, whoever had taken it had swapped me a bicycle. Yep, in place of my short owned but much beloved motorbike was a pedal bike. I laughed so loud my missus came in to see what the fuss was. So to whoever did that I salute you sir, may the bike bear you better fortune than it did to me. I appreciate the gesture of the pedal bike and the sense of humour involved! Despite the faults, DayZ again delivers some gaming high & lows that you just can't get anywhere else.
  12. I'd better dig out the old tape player then.

    Standalone Dayz???

I'd say put yer helmet on son, expect some incoming.

    Full release - Map discussion

Last time I was in south Wales I thought there had been a zombie apocalypse. I'm confused by the references to 'end game' areas that keep popping up in here and elsewhere. I'd like to think that as a fresh spawn or new player as soon as you begin on that beach you are at 'end game', but I digress.... The majority of buildings should be enterable and more varied loot would be nice to see.

    Full release - Map discussion

I'd like to see a 'Chenerus plus' style map, keeping the varied terrain types but improving the size and feel. It's surely got to keep that open world feel though.
  16. Consider it done, although it's for the benefit of the others on these forums, not yours. If you are going to post rage filled caps lock drivel that serves no purpose other than to troll I expect you'll be getting a lot of 'what you love'.
  17. Firstly, I'll go grab my tinfoil hat to survive this unspeakable conspiracy. Secondly, please go research WHY the respawn button was removed (re: Abuse and server stress, that's as far as I'll go for you). Thirdly, troll OP reported. Lastly, better get your parents to take your keyboard back as the caps lock seems to be stuck.

    [TRB] Clan Alt+F4 losers

You wouldn't be able to see it to sit on it though. Stealth sofa, the future.

    Well it happens

I posted a similiar thread yesterday about some frustrations, but I had a beer or two, had a break and will start a new life in DayZ later today. The hacking/scripting/cheating/exploiting is becoming more common place but the choice you have is to let those who have to cheat to win, or to have any satisfaction, ruin your time in DayZ? Re-read your post, think of those experiences you had, can any other game/mod do that? Grab a cold one, kick back for a few then come back. DayZ isn't perfect, the limit of the mod has it's flaws but starting on that beach is a whole new set of challanges.
  20. Well my fellow DayZ'ers, After having a trip around the north of the map I was fortunate enough to find an FN FAL at a heli crash site and thought I'd put it to good use around Cherno. Specifically against those who inhabit 'sniper hill' and it's surroundings. So, there I am stalking 'wascily wabbits' when I spot a compost heap armed with what appears to be a DMR. Obvioulsy I get a bit too close as he either saw or heard me approaching, he then fires off a shot to attract a metric shit ton of zombies who come running towards us. At this point I thought 'that's a good move, well played'. But, then he alt-F4's. Lame. As. Fuck. I go prone to avoid the crowd of infected having a rave up, only to have him relog pretty much on top of me and kill me. Once again, Lame. As. Fuck. I don't care about gear, keeping it or loosing it it makes no odds to me. FN FAL, Lee Enfield, Makarov, who cares? It's just frustrating to have so many players adopting the alt-F4'ing, server hopping, re-log. I know many of you out there have had similiar experiences and like you I refuse to lower myself to such lame cheating. I will never alt-F4 to avoid death or to gain an (unfair) advantage other players because I don't play games (especially ones that give such rewarding experiences such as DayZ, although games like this have been rare over the past few years) to just cheat. Yes, he lived and I died but the nature of that 'victory' is hollow. It's time for a break, and to have a beer or two that are chilling nicely in my fridge. I'll be back obviously because DayZ deserves to be played and has given me some of the best gaming experiences I have had and I refuse to let those cheating, exploiting children ruin that. So, cheers all! There's a cold one in the fridge for you.

    FUCKING ASS HOLE SNIPERS

Hey there OP, There is a cold one in my fridge for you, I'll go get it.
  22. No. In a sandbox game such as this introducing mechanics to effectively punish one play style over another is a bad idea. It's a sandbox; some will build castles, some will kick them over.
  23. The wife and I were driving into town and saw a bicycle leaning against a wall of a house. We both said "Lets steal it".
  24. ben_c

    Time for a beer

Agreed. I'd rather Rocket put the time and resources into the standalone design rather than address issues in the mod which won't exist in the standalone. If that makes no sense then clearly I've had a cold one too many!
  25. ben_c

Show name of who killed you

I agree that this may well be one of the unfortunate side affects of such a mechanic. TBH, I'd be happy to see the 'XX has been killed' message removed completely. If you're sneaking around Cherno and you hear a shot then 'XX has been killed' pops up you are essentially getting a 'warning, sniper at work' message which gives you an artificial knowledge of your surroundings
