I will only shoot on sight for: Bandit skin. Ghillie suited sniper, up to no good around the coast. Other than that I will avoid and observe. However, I think I'll spend some time on the coast to see if I can assist anyone this weekend.

I'd like to say I'm suprised by the number of DayZ hipster kool kidz in here....but I'm not. To those who seem intent on raising their forum post count with the 'QQ more, rage on bro, waaah' garbage, please, go back to the OP and read it. I mean actually read it word for word. I've not logged on for a few weeks due to work commitments and after reading this thread, well, in the words of Ellen Ripley "Did IQ's just drop sharply while I was away?" Hacking/scripting has no place in this game or any other. There are no 'white hat' hackers, no self serving justification that those who use, or support the use of, hacks/scripts is sufficient. Give everybody god mode, teleport, etc etc? Then what? Watch this mod dissolve into a teenage running goat fuck nightmare version of the Matrix, that's what.

Beans for this and I'll throw in some toast for them too. The debug monitor is not a scoreboard IMO, although I'm sure the number increase is what gives some players their motivation.

Just to be picky the calibre is the width not the length. OP, I see your point but your grouping of players is the most general broad brush statement I have ever read. Player who is not you = care bear = combat logger = script kid. I agree with the anti-combat logger sentiment but unless you are planning a career in politics or serial bigotry you may want to stratify your view of the world a bit more.

Just gently shoo them away like the angst ridden teenage power trippers they actually are. Give them free run of a server where they can hack, script, teleport, spawn & bot to their little hearts content, they can spend all day high fiving themselves in a mirror whilst touching themselves in special places over what a leet gaming hardcore badass they actually are whilst that Russian hack site takes their parents credit card details and liberates their credit balance. Other than that a ban would suffice. I'd quite like to seem them pre-banned from the standalone if I think about it. You, my good sir, are a buffoon.

There are no 'white hat' hackers here. Using the justification of 'the game gave me nothing to do so I got bored, so it is the games fault I hacked & scripted' is just fucking lame. Normally I would critically review the OP and formulate a well written and thoughtful response. Over the past few days I have been killed by various hacks and tonight I have had more than a few cold beers so in summary: You hacked. You got banned. You have NO-ONE but yourself to blame for your actions. In short, get fucked.

I think you may wish to review if DayZ, or games of this type, are actually ones you want to play.

You are not being smart, you are using an exploit that is considered very much against the rules and, dare I say it, the spirit of DayZ. In your example quoted above; if you are crossing an open field you deserve to be shot. <insert lecture on use of cover and dead ground here>. People such as you are very much 'the problem' in this case. Using the weak justification of 'everyone does it so I'll do it' is frankly pathetic. As players we cannot govern how the others act, only how we ourselves act. For some of you that seems to be the hard part.

No personal offence here but when I see a teenager say/type that it is the same to me as a dwarf saying 'I consider myself fairly tall'. Being a kid/teenager will dramatically reduce my chances of helping them, especially arming them. It's best for both of us to just keep out of the way. I agree that not ALL kids/teens are like that, but the majority I have crossed paths with in game worlds are. I don't want this thread to turn into a kid/teen hate thread but age is very much a factor in how I will react to you in game. *Edit for typo

I'm leaving too. Only because I have a tee time booked for 3.30pm, then I'll be back online this evening. Play it or don't play it, the choice is yours. I agree there are issues and problems but if you can't get past them then spend your time elsewhere. You'll feel better for it.

I feel your pain. Although I try not to judge all on the actions of a few I have no second thoughts on killing anyone who has not reached puberty yet, even though I have the survivor playstyle and don't just KoS. Generally I avoid playing with kids/teenagers (that looks like the weirdest sentence I have ever typed) even those who say 'I'm 14 but really mature'. No. No you're not. In the interest of balance before teenagers reading this have a cry and write up an angst ridden entry into their journals, I have played with some shitty adults at times.

Normally I try not to make useless posts but this time I just can't resist. OP, so what? I mean really? Each to their own style, I have my own self set mission in DayZ but I don't waste time here spouting off about it. I honestly could not give a flying kitten how you play, or anyone else for that matter. Bandit? Good for you. Sniper? Happy camping. Medic? Tip o' the hat sir. Manhunter bromance? What ever floats your kayak pal. So you've gained something normally called 'tactical awareness', fuck-a-doodle-do, well done. I'm off to something far more productive than wasting my time in here.

Nice rant, and I see your points. I was expecting the usual profanity ridden vomit post but I can see why you felt the need to rant. TBH, the reasons you have vented in the OP are the ones that stop me coughing up and running a server. I am, however, always grateful to those who do and those who are.

Why would people rage over someone quoting Rocket when he is essentially thinking out-loud on possible directions for DayZ when answering some quite directed questions? I see nothing at all definite there; in fact I see nothing more than the use of phrases such as 'could' & 'one idea we passed around'. Thats about as certain as me saying 'I could have cold pizza for breakfast' despite the fact there is no pizza in my house.

Remove thermal optics from the L85? Sure, as long as ghillie suits are removed in the same brush stroke. After all, all the proposers of removing thermal in here should be able to pick a decent fire position that offers them cover from view and fire without needing an outfit made from cabage, right? I agree that the idea of 'balance' in DayZ should remain ambigious, as ZDB has stated there is nothing stopping you from getting off your arse and getting a thermal capability. It seems that a percentage of our sniper bretheren want to be as Zeus, throwing thunderbolts at the mortals with impunity. The thermal scope represents the one thing that should keep those types twitchy and looking over their shoulder, remove it and they have their very own 'god mode'. For the record I'm not against snipers, it's a sandbox after all, right? You have your style and I have mine.

Personally, I cannot stand to hear/read the phrase 'endgame' with regards to DayZ. In my opinion the 'endgame' is when you spawn on the beach of broken dreams, the whole game is this 'endgame' of which you speak. The phrase 'endgame' implies that you will have to wade through various degrees of boring, shit content to get to the good stuff. That's not my experience of DayZ at all. People want to have gucci kit, thats human nature, but getting your outfit that is made out of compost and the .50 rifle does mean you have beaten the game. When I start a life in DayZ I don't have a shopping list, I go with what I can find and that has lead to some great experiences in game.

I was stalking two snipers outside Electro today, got spotted and a firefight ensued, I managed to break contact and circle around again. Second round of stalking and as soon as my CZ rounds pass near him he alt F4s. As soon as that happened I decided they are not worthy of the sport and move off. Moral of the story is the PvP gives the highs and lows of this mod. Until the lows are resolved I am not surprised players avoid it.

A sucking chest wound is a good indicator that the rounds are too close. If I hear the crack of rounds passing me I move. I'm sure I heard a thump of rounds hitting the ground but I'm not 100% on that one.

If you put you and TheMachine together you'd just scrape the smart meter on most asshats? Sounds legit.
