Someone wrote on my map :S

Read on map: "R00wer, where are you?" Just fealt an instant need to gratify myself, so I put in: "Sorry, I just shot him. Why did you ask?"
  2. Yeah, so what happens if you abort and log out while being driven somewhere? Or when you're flying? Is it any difference wether you're a passenger or the pilot? Just curious!

Death every time I get something nice

Great topic! You're simply inexperienced. It'll be like that until you learn how and where you can travel incognito, or even better, how you can have relative tactical control over the area you're travelling trough. You need to learn how to move from building to building, from cover to cover, and how to always check for danger before sticking your head out in the open. I get lazy at this sometimes too, but the reward for such lazyness is death.
  4. Ah, Beh.. rheeeeee... zzino... Yes, you can probably live there. Last time I was there, though, I found Mountain Dew, and only minutes after I heard a chopper. It immediately found me, even though I hid pretty well. It started shooting at me, but I defended myself well, so it went away, landed nearby, unloades some fellows who immediately started laying down cover fire (great job). Then a player (hacking, ghosting, cheater) spawned in front of me and shot me while I tried to escape. Also, Berezino is where I lost mah bike. My pretty, green, old bike. Even further, Berezino is where I thought I was safe, back into the tree-line, when somebody ran right up to me and cracked a M1911 right into my head and I instantly died. I've actually had better luck in Cherno. Conclusion: Don't go to Berezino. Edit. Further reasons: Sure, it's not easy getting an overview into the city, but on almost every side of it there are big open fields. While you could get lucky,l and the sniper isn't in your part of the city (it's very long), you can never really be safe. Another, last, reason to not go to Berezino: It's the place everybody assumes is empty, so everybody goes there... Meaning it's not really that safe after all.
  5. So I silently tiptoed into town, when I suddenly saw a bike - A BIKE - sitting casually parked next to a building. "YAY" I exclaimed loudly over Direct chat, and made a salute, sat down next to the bonfire, salutarily pressed V, and then surrendered (had to make a special key binding for that). Anyway, the bike was a bit broken and didn't really move as fast as I wanted - more like a weed smoking donkey... But eventually I came home. Well, not actually. I came to that place where I thought "Fuck it, I'll just set up my camp right here". And so I did. But aw man, the amount of work it took to fix it... After much running about, dodging players and zeds trying to find the necessary items to repair my precious bike, I finally made it. However at that point it was getting dark. Still, adamant about getting on with my adventure, I mounted up, and onwards I went ... about 100 metres, right into a zed and totalled the bike. Taste my tears...
  6. Noooo, I thought you meant a really fast mountain bike, or maybe one of those in Tour de France! :D I WANTZ! Then I can crash it into a surviver and total both me and him!

    Hiding player bodies..

It's dick to hide someones body, if that body is yours. It's not dick to hide somebody elses body. OK?

    Bandit morals

In a few wars different armies had problems with their soldiers aiming over their enemies. They just didn't like the idea of killing somebody else. So they decied they'd have to change the way the trained their soldiers, getting more human targets, and giving brony points for killing. Oh sorry, I meant "brownie points". All that because it's not in most people's nature to outright kill their fellow human beings, even though it's the enemy.

People who murder bandits =/= heroes

I don't much care for the whole bandit/hero skin thing, but tagging people who KOS (or giving them a disadvantage), and giving some incentives to cooperate, or at least trade, is great and makes the game that much extremely more interresting. Also, defending yourself when someone comes after you, or shoots first, is completely legitimate, although I'm against getting humanity for it. I do like the idea about rewarding certain behaviour, though, but I'm still uneasy about this bandit/hero thing, meaning I guess I kinda like the hero costume, but not so much the bandit costume... Ah, I dunno... Let's just play the game!

    Bring back "respawn" feature

Oh noes, I spawned at the wrong spot, and I suck so much at the game and I'm such an impatient loser that I'll just run into some zeds an have them "suicide" me instead of growing a pair.
  12. Fucken bullshit negativists. I'll hunt you down and put a hatchead right into yer forehead! YES, I'll be going full frontal on yer ass! This week I'll be introducing two more friends to DayZ, and we'll own you like bosses wherever we go - without cheating!

Will dogs be friendly in 1.7.3?

Kewl! I want a cat, tho. Do you think they'll make that? Cats are excellent companions! They could be used to scare away dogs.

    Introduce yourselves

Hello there! I'm KEBMAN! Also known as just Kebman. I like to play nice and loot gear, but I startle easy, so if you come at me, I'll probably KOS. Been KOS'ed more than a few times myself, too, so I guess it's only karma. Long term plan: Become a hero, of course! :D At the moment my humanity is up to 4850.

    anti-wiki tactics

You never know what loot there will be, or if there will be any at all. To me, that's enough.

    What Is Your Favourite Weapon?

Just love the M14, and of course also the DMR, but it's just something about the FAL. Possibly because it's the only gun I've gotten into a real firefight with.

    The Decline of DayZ

How many programmers did Rocket have? Three, including himself? (Please tell me if I missed something) Eheh... So three programmers are gonna fix the whole game, plus the site? Man, you guys posting before me better take a number and stand in line, cuz this is gonna take a while.

Swapped my Winchester for an M1014...

The Winnie is an alround great zed dispenser. The only other shotgun (yeah, I know) I'd pick up, is the Remington for night operations. It's a bit louder to the zeds than the Winnie, but still relatively quiet for other players. Also, the damaged depends on your ammo. Pellets are good only up to 40 metres, whereas slugs are good up to 250 metres.

How are people stashing their gear?

I simply test the server. If the stuff is present also after a server restart, or my own death, I make a note of it, and go back to that server. It's easy with DayZ Commander.

This Forum is Slowing Down D:

I can see how this would make members disillusioned. It can turn into full fledged mutiny if left unchecked. It has happened to other forums. A new forum was made, and the member left the old one like rats would a sinking ship. This forum is nearly unusable even for me, with 30/40 mbps bandwith. Clearly something has to be done. This isn't just about the "free" mod. It's about wether the new full game will get any support.

    If they removed backpacks!

For: Starting without backpack, or a smaller one. Against. Removing it completely. Assault-type packs are probably the most abundant, as it's used for school, work, hiking and biking alike. Then comes the other variants. Most sports stores would have plenty of those too. EDIT: Also, it would heavily change and reduce the game. You wouldn't be able to loot, and you'd be forced to ditch most of the stuff you found. Yeah, sure it would make you give it much more consideration, and probably it wouldn't be much point in having sniper weapons anymore - but... having that threat against me is one of the things I really like. Meeting those odds are one of the things I really like. And hunting a bambi-killing sniper-griefer is one of the things I really like. Or trying to find that well guarded camp. I love those aspects of the game, and they wouldn't be possible without big ass backpack and people going nuts about looting for their tents.
  22. You're wrong. You're next.

    intel against bandits

No. Instead I'd love to see more clues in nature, like tracks, marks, empty weapons cartridges, etc. Used tin cans? Other waste? It could fade or de-spawn after a certain time. It would make the whole thing much more of a hunt. Don't get me wrong, it already is, but it's more based upon luck and knowledge of good spots to hide or snipe from, than actual knowledge of tracking.
  24. It would at least differentiate who killed in cold blood, and who were defending themselves. A hitbox won't slow a bullet down, only register it.

    Tweak to 'Study Body'

OooooOooOoh I would love this to be fixed! Aslo, I do not want to know WHO killed him, but I want to know the cause. Does he bruises and gnaw marks? Does he have a .50 cal exit wound? That sort of stuff. That would just be sooo coool! :D We can of course assume that there is a system for dog tags, or that people still carry their pre apocalypse ID's, so you can see who he was. I atleast like to know who I killed, that's for sure.
