  1. I'm still up for karma system where enough pvp kills earns you Justin Bieber's Best Hits soundtrack eternally playing in background. Shouts like "Whres the ACTION!!!???" reduces your karma by 2000. Each kill with sniper rifle accompanied with "PwNed U N00B!1!" shout would immediately earn you a next volume until either your brain or computer explodes. There was a point when players didnt necessarely kill each other the second they saw each other. Then People happened, and 95 % of People are shitty. My game has been constantly ruined by sniper campers (hell yeah, barricade markets and church and lay hours waiting for players) and hackers. Try to play the survival part there when all you hear is a frigging "zzzp" sound when bullet from AS50 approaches your head. I would think there are better games for your normal pvp shooting. This is not CoD with beans you know... "There are no end game content so we start to kill other players", wohoo. Why are you still here then?

Wasn't it mentioned in the video that those were "placeholder" zombies (i.e. not the right skeleton + animations) and that with improved pathfinding their speed can be reduced to "normal" levels? In mod zombies need to be fast in order to keep pace with players, and speed causes clitchyness.
  3. Some people just are jerks who enjoy killing others with no reason at all, and that's it. No matter how hard the environment is, there's always someone asking "hey whre are every1, Cherno looks empty? Wher's ACTION!?1!". My opinion is that player killers should endure karma system where, with shitty karma, you would earn Justin Bieber's Best Tracks Vol.1-1000 which you can't turn off.

  7. Just got killed by a hacker. Basic Chernarus server and got EVR blast from Namalsk. FR3 hosted by MAD SIN.
  8. Well they react to sounds more aggressively and can be aggroed from great distances. It's the normal "feature" from the start that they zigzag a lot which makes aiming very difficult. I haven't seen them running inside (barn, residential house etc). It's good to know zombies are a danger now, but I doubt this mod can ever get rid of bugs which makes them even more dangerous that what they are. Whining about other difficulty than bugs - hey, Dead Island and Left 4 Dead is there for you.
  9. Unbelievable amount of whining about new features. Difficult? Play Left 4 Dead serie or Dead Island if you want easy settings. Whine only if something is bugged or works in a way it's not intented to (and boy, THAT happens).
  10. Dead island is a good game if you want to kill zombies and dont want to worry about survival aspect. Only npc humans you can kill, sorry. Or if you want more pew pew dakka dakka without any survival aspect (other than avoiding hp's to drop by zombies hits) try Left for Dead serie. DayZ tries to bring us Survival Game with Zombies and I'm darn pleased with the current direction.

Odd, I had oldy L85 AWS (returning to Chernarus after few months of Namalsk) but it just bugged the main weapon slot - I could see the amount ammo for this gun and fire modes by pressing F, however character hold secondary weapon in its hand and I wasn't able to change weapon, nor shoot my guns. Only after "rearming" secondary weapon in the gear menu I managed to change secondary weapon to my hands. L85 was invisible in the gear menu, and it didnt allow me to "drop" it even though "drop" option was visible. I tried several EU and US servers and all had this issue so it wasn't server related. Luckily weapon change succeeded without troubles by picking up a new gun.

Here's one clear installation guide (from zero to 0.73) http://dayzmod.com/f...40#entry1010603 Basically it's just installing Namalsk crisis + latest 0.73 version which also includes pathfinder update. Depends on your launcher option how you activate the mod. Commanders and such "easy" installations tend to be slow when new updates come. Manual installation is both easy and fast way to play.
  14. Odd, I haven't seen red eyes when encountering bloodsuckers. I guess those can only be seen during night (gj daytime servers, lol). I wonder if bloodsuckers could be much tougher mobs but not invisible as those are tricky as hell to spot and kill and they chase you a loooong way now (playing still in 0.72 server). And who said these things die easily? I always have to shoot one clip (30 rounds) with AK to it until it dies (I prefer torso shots - more sure hits). Might be a server lag issue? I laughed like hell when we first met a horde of bloodsuckers. Our group's strategy - after hearing the first ones roar - was the following. Everyone gathered together, we formed a line guns pointed towards noice and started walking backwards. Then we hoped we can kill the beast in a controlled manner (without killing each others) when it appears. Well, first one appeared almost between us and someone managed to finish it when other ran away in chaos. As effective as 18th century warfare but it's working.

Starting DZ, and strange need of beans was soon carved into us, causing some odd moments (http://img204.images.../4339/dayzb.png). Our trip to Cherno was really odd. Some other group was going wild in town, shooting with mg's and stuff (and we thought our method of sneaking http://img43.imagesh.../4662/dayz2.png was rough enough). We saw their sniper on a roof, and decided to test the accuracy of our sniper equipped with CZ 550 (http://imageshack.us/f/337/dayz4.png/). It looked like a lucky hit from 600 meters away. After that we made a small tour near Cherno and returned to the same spot where our sniper shot those few rounds. Three out of four were standing next to a tree when fourth finally arrived, looked at us and said "guys, who's that sniper under that spruce?" (http://img835.images.../4489/dayz3.png). Once we looked at that tree we saw a unknown guy with a sniper rifle disconnecting. Darn close call there, we didn't have a clue that somebody was lying one meter from us. We decided to head towards NW airfield, and got into troubles many times because we didn't have will to wait our pal who had map and compass (http://img195.images.../6725/dayz8.jpg). Soon we almost run out of proper food (http://img217.images.../9940/dayz7.jpg). When we were close to Sobors we found our first vehicle abandoned on a bridge, and few minutes later, lost it (http://img823.images...1458/dayz11.jpg). All of us were ambushed & killed by other players near Novy Sobor. Just updated our group's "comic log" with Namalsk-related strips --> http://dayzmod.com/f...d-comic-strips/ It would be cool if Arma could simulate radiation poisoning... not necessarily "*EVR Bang* you lost 6k+ health", but more likely "*EVR Bang* now my character vomits and coughs, losing health bit by bit during x period of time or until I eat antidotes".

  18. I wondered that too, since vehicles wont protect you from EVR... I decided I wont be flying helis for sure without warning devices :D (and will that device even work when player is in a vehicle?)
  19. I see, so there exists own list of banned weapons - also server related- so it shouldnt be a problem then. Fingers crossed. Now we only need clothing that protects you from EVR/radiation... How did it work in Stalker, I'm curious now. Was it always "Hiiiide!!!!" reaction? I have wondered if gear affects to characters "stamina", i.e. heavy gear (protection suit :D) tires faster and makes aiming harder.
  20. Namalsk FEELS good, odd how details like snowfall and breath fog affects so much to immersion. Is there a updated list of weapons available? I once had troubles with one server admin as I picked up a "hacked" weapon (L85 acog + M203 thing attached) without knowing it wasn't a Namalsk gun ("duh, Gauss was the only new one"). Still, this previous might be server setting related issue as http://dayzdb.com/database/l85a2-acog-gl states it IS a Namalsk weapon... Weird. It would be nice to hear "air-raid alarm/ siren" -kind of sound before the EVR. As I started my new char and I don't even know where I am (not "cheating" by looking for loot maps etc) I'm talking about "omg need shelter asap but where I can find some" experiences - 6,5k bloodloss is such a punch taken out of the blue...
  21. Hrm, only handful of public namalsk servers using 0.72. And constantly getting kicked from those servers --> "script restriction 40". So this was related to server BE settings or...? And my in opinion, invisible bloodsuckers are a "bit" too op. Just faced two of them in a railyard....
  22. I just wondered, are zombies also affected by EVR or will it only affect players? Secondly, how much does it injure players if one doesn't seek shelter? Talking about loss of blood. @vecussio Well I guess this "knowing the hot spots" can be expected when the map is more familiar. Our group travels pretty much without a map and as we don't use loot maps or so, it's damn hilarious. We don't know where the stuff is supposed to be so we try our luck everywhere - and get beaten badly. Those zombies are really something now, more numerous and forest walkers still scare the shit out of me (especially as my char is on the verge of death and passes out now and then). But animals are really rare and I don't recall us finding any canned food... And how does campfire work with temperature, it seems to remove the "cold effect" but I don't know if it actually works (we stand on fire to be sure :P). How close one has to stay the fire? All be darned, just remembered I have camo clothing on my character... T-shirt for the win!
  23. Harcore setting for me, more "casual" weapons (hunting rifles, pistols, AK/M16 type assault rifles), less high tech military stuff. Ironsights for the win! Maybe russian light machineguns for backup fire... but less .50 cals, that's a overkill. My 2 cents.
  24. Learn to read, that's the first step to enlightenment. First, .50 cals are only rarer now. Rare doesnt mean that something doesn't exist at all. Streetlights were never meant to be part of update - hotfix for that. Weapon variety is good but what really fits this kind of game? This is survival, not your arcade deathmatch game like Battlefields. I f****ng prefer sticks and stones over laser guided missiles and latest weapon tech which seem to be so important for some people. Thermal vision was easy mode, period. What skill it requires to sit on a hill and spot everyone within a mile? And then shoot them with freaking antimaterial rifle. Ridiculous. New features and updates = trash in your opinion? More .50 cals and hyper-dyper weapons? Go play something else then, this is clearly not your game. Or try Namalsk map where your dear weapons still exists. There exists pretty much dozens of other games where you can satisfy your high tech weapon fetish.
