I tried to do it manually and it wouldnt work, and I did it via dayz commander last night and managed to finally get on a server running 1.7.2.5 but it felt like I had to get lucky to achieve it lol

same here seems they always plan these untested updates to fuck with my weekend after ive been working all week, finally get to sit down and play dayz and i cant.

yes if only just to make the SMGs get used, theyre all rarer than any AK. so i prose make the SMG's much rarer, but have them as secondary weapons.

I just think is taking things too far personally, it's already annoying now when something has barbed wire blocking it. Taking buildings and loot away from new players isn't the right way to go in my eyes.

I think classes should exist in some form but nothing like “SNIPER!” or “SPEC OPZ” Since we are meant to just be people, the survivors. The classes in my eyes would be something more humanly based, for example Strong dude, can fend of the zombies with more ease and carry more stuff but he can’t run for as long. Fit dude, is fairly agile and is able to run large distances but isn’t able to fend of zombies Ex-Army, has a mixture of both classes but has greater weapons knowledge resulting in faster reloading and more resistant to the natural elements like cold Medic, can only have one primary and one secondary weapon but has extra medical slots in the form of a ‘medical bag’ Something that is based more on the human form rather than pretend crap like “soldier class has more accuracy” “sniper can see further!” “medic is invincible and can heal themself!” “support can carry billions of bullets” This way we get a mixture of different character types that change the gameplay but it keeps it realistic and adds that variation. That way clans etc will have to decide what role is suited best to each ‘class’. The class that is chosen will not affect how much damage bullets do, bullets will always cause the same damage no matter the ‘class’ .

M14 as my primary, this gun is unbelievable. it destroys in PvP. AS50 as my sniper rifle/shooting range gun PDW as my pistol, as it can use M9, M9 SD, mp5, mp5sd, G17, PDW. PDW sd... What other pistol is there to use! I then have a couple of bloodbags, morphine, bandages, 4-5 mags for the M14, I only have 1 mag of m107 ammo sniper wise... and then whatever pistol ammo I can scrounge for the pdw. Then the other usual stuff like tools, gps, nvg, ghillie, range finders. I pretty much have everything on this character, but I dont have a camp

Makes sense, what with them zombies driving cars which need to be disabled.

Only reason it's a problem is because of a) duping B) hackers and c) military zombies, who are wearing body armour are just as easy to avoid and kill as civ zombies. A zombie wearing a helmet and armour should be harder to kill. There should also be way more of them to make getting in and out of high loot areas an actual challenge and an actual threat. At the moment all you need to worry about in these places if other players. If I shoot a zombie wearing a helmet with a little pistol it surely wouldn't stop it since it's functioning on basic instinct of EAT! since that helmet would prevent the bullet from actually reaching the brain, now this means that people would have to start using more powerful weapons to counter that in military zones. so if I shoot a zombie with my powerful gun I will attract more, and that would be a nightmare if all the zombies in this area are covered in armour. This way getting in and out of a high level loot zone is actually something to consider, and people may even think twice about taking the shot at other people. Also, people will keep duping whilst the game bugs and there are arsehole admins who kick players. A couple of days ago, I found an M14 at a crash site, So I took it, I actually wanted a DMR but since I had m14 ammo I dropped my M24 in favour in assumption I would someday find a DMR, so as it stood at that point I had an M14 and an M4A1 CCO With about 300-400 bullets in total between them. Fast forward a bit, I head towards a deer stand. And some douche is there too, he gets trigger happy and starts spraying his AK towards me as if I was his ex-wife. He missed every shot and I pumped two M14 rounds and he was dead within 1 second. I loot his body and find he has an AS50 on him, so I decide to drop the DMR idea and go with the AS50, so I drop the m14 and pick up and AS50 with two mags. I then log out (as I was planning on doing so after I looted the deer stand). So I logged out with an M4 and AS50. When I log back in, I have an M24 and the AS50 with no ammo for either. What the hell? I dropped that M24 at least 40 minutes prior to logging out and the M4 never left my inventory. So why the hell am I left with an M24 and AS50. So, I decide it shouldn’t be a problem I will loot deer stands for an AK to swap the M24, then look for ammo for the AS50 + a new M4 variant or L85. I find a deer stand with an AK, I drop the m24 and get kicked immediately. I then log in to a new server, I have an AS50 and an AK with no ammo (despite picking up the ammo with the AK before) So, I went from being rich in ammo and weapons to having an AK and AS50 with no ammo for either because of bugs and arsehole admins who kick for no reason. I eventually found a crash site that had only an M249, but I at least have a primary weapon with some ammo so I can start looking for sniper rifle ammo safely. But I will probably spawn in with an FN FAL with no ammo. As long as this crap happens, people will feel they are entitled to duping and hacking in weapons because if they lose equipment to bugs, they will gain it to bugs with no remorse. Yes a lot of people will still abuse it, but can’t expect people to not dupe items when the game is so hell bent on stripping you of your weapons and putting you in a tough spot.

I find it amusing, I was running east of NWAF last night and saw some guy killed billy running across a field, in a ghillie suit (name tag server FTL) so I decided to shoot some bullets around his feet, he was about 300m away and I had an M4A1, so I doubt I would ever hit him, my red dot pretty much covered his whole body, anyway he lays down on the ground then ALT+F4s. ha. Another time, it was pitch black in elektro I saw two torches in the distance, I only had a pistol. Decided to just shoot in the general direction of the torches (they was pretty far, 150m+) so again never would actually kill them, just hitting the wall next to them and scaring them shitless, even funnier when all you can see is a torch flipping around in a panic. I also got my friends, they was in the fire station at the power plant, in the tower looting, I was coming down from that dam just north of it, I could see the tower in the distance, must have been 300m-400m away so I fired 4-5 shots at the tower against the wall and then listen on TS and hear my friends saying "shit someone is shooting at us!!!". ahhh you can have fun without killing other people you know :) I will have to take my sniper rifle to cherno and shoot at peoples feet.

make sure you only press it once, I pressed it twice quickly once by mistake and I got teleported to the middle of the sea with no items. However I then respawned again where I was before but without the new skin (it was a camo too I think)

Not a bad ass, just like to fuck with people :) it becomes apparent how many people actually ALT+F4, seems the wookies are more likely to ALT+f4

currently have M4A1 cco, M24, PDW, 8 STANAG mags, 5 DMR mags (I want a DMR but I can use them with the m24), range finders, GPS, NVG, all the other tools (apart from a damn toolbox), couple of bloodpacks, bandages, morphine, meat and bottle for water. To find list : DMR, Ghillie/Camo/Soldier

what's my best chance of finding a DMR?

Also I have a CS:S server, which is no where near as complex as a DayZ/Arma 2 server, it's an 11 slot war server. It does need to be restarted fairly often, once every day really. So it's certainly feasible that a 50 man server constantly spawning zombies, loot and tent locations etc would need a restart every 4 hours to keep it in line. Have you noticed how some servers your FPS is like 10? Then others you get 60.

me and my friend have found someones camp in the north, we're not camping it but the nice fella's that own the tents have been putting new items in for us! I now have a fully equipped guy, I just need GPS, Ghillie and a DMR

Yeah, I didn't do anything wrong, it was definitely bugged. I know my way around the inventory now, infact I had an M24 in there which I was switching about before I found the M107, but I gave the m24 to someone thinking I had the M107 . Now I have neither :(

it's getting ridiculous, there are too many people on these forums that feel like they have to the smartest most informed person and that their opinion is correct. That is why you will never experience a proper discussion here on the forum, it will be full of idiots saying "go back to COD lolol" which is a shame because there is always so much more to any argument than that.

Who says you wouldn't? Well not to that extent but people might start shooting them for fun, hunting them etc.
