You can sit down on the ground, salute and other stuff. But not sit on a chair or sit on a bench. But there are "troll"wires which you can use to barricade doorways, but in my opinion it's just annoying. There are 2 different clothing atm. A Ghillie suit and Military armor. None change the actual "armor" value in-game, so it doesn't protect you from zombies nor players. But it does change your appearance. The Ghillie suit is very green and looks like grass/leaves, it's perfect camo for a sniper, it blends incredibly well in with the environment.

When you spawn, there's text on your right bottom corner. The second line in the text is where you are. Find a browser map and you can quickly find out where you are.

Yes there are melee weapons: Axe and Crowbar Most of the servers cap at 50, good servers with low ping is full most of the time (daytime in-game, at night there are much less) No not every building is accessible, in fact, compared to the total amount of buildings, there are very few accessible. But there's stores, apartments, tents, airports, deer stands, hospitals and much more which you can enter and find nice equipment. Yes you can set up tents and campfires, with the right tools. To set up a tent, all you need is to find a tent somewhere and pick it up. To set up a campfire, you need wood (acquired by looting or using an axe on a tree) and matches to lit the fire. You can't enter the tents, they are only for "bag" space, in case you have a lot of stuff you can't carry around all the time.

Seriously, I can't think of something else that ruins DayZ more than server hoppers. I mean, I finally get my Ghillie suit for the first time, going around looting Deer Stands and decide to go for the small airport. Camping outside for a while to see if any players are nearby. Looking around with my binocular, no zombies spawned, so no players nearby. I carefully go to both hangars and find some stuff, I accidentally aggroed a zombie and he breaks my legs so I start crawling towards the watch tower. While I'm crawling, I see someone just appearing in front of me, surprised me and shot me... While my "sand timer" ticks down I see him logging off and leave. So yeah, I'm getting real emo when I get killed by fucking retards who can't play the game like it's meant to be played. Sure if someone was already there, saw me and then shot me, no problem. But he fucking appeared, shot me and disconnected... Fun times. I really hope Rocket finds a good way to solve this problem, along with pvp log offs.

So I recently purchased an Asus G75 laptop. I love it and I can play new games without problems. I'm playing a lot of BF3 and playing with High settings at about 40-50 FPS. But in order to play DayZ I need to set all the settings to LOW and disable everything possible. So now I'm playing at like 40-50 FPS but the game looks like shit. Is there something I'm missing here? I mean sure ARMA2 engine is nice and all but there's no way it's THAT good looking. Is it just really really badly optimized or am I missing something? Thanks for the replies, I tried go High but it only got worse. I now use mixed settings but 90% is on LOW. I guess I'll just have to play this way.

[/quote'] I understand if I can't play it on MAX, that's fine. But playing on LOW/disabled seems kinda weird and it's not really fun :/ I just don't get why it runs so badly on my laptop.

Just wanted to make a thread regarding female characters in-game. So basically I wanted to go female since it's not many females out there and it was nice to get something new. But now when I FINALLY get my Ghillie Suit, it says "Females can't use skins yet, will come in a future patch"... Well thanks for letting me know that before I chose a female?... This kinda changes my gameplay since I can't use Ghillie which is awesome camouflage. I know it's Alpha and everything but at least let us know that Females are far from done, I never would have chosen a female if I knew that.

Haha you dont have to worry about low populated, but you do have to worry about getting into a server since they are ALWAYS full.

Yeah I agree, it doesn't have to change every 30min but maybe a day cycle of 6h? It's still a long time and it would be more fun in my opinion

This reminds me more of "The Walking Dead" series. Same environment, same goal, same scenario. But I guess it's pretty close to all zombie movies since...there's zombies :P

I HAD to make a forum account because I feel this is just TOO important. The increase in zombies is important! I mean this IS a survival zombie apocalypse game, which means you need to survive while zombies plague the lands you once lived in. The zombie count before the patch was not good, I mean no zombies in the woods? Only 3-4 zombies comes charging at us when me and 2 friends start shooting like crazy with shotguns and snipers? That's not survival in my opinion. Sure you need to kill a lot of zombies, but a survival game is all about being cautious and careful, not running into a ghost-town screaming and shooting like a maniac. So to sum up, I LOVE the increase in zombies because it makes it more like a survival game which it's suppose to be. Keep up the AWESOME job :)
