i do like how the spawns are now for one fact (the south is quick-death and noob territory, the further north you travel, the more difficult, and rewarding everything becomes, longer living players, better weapon spawns, etc...) I do like the idea of new types of spawns, maybe on a crashed boat/liferaft (the boat being out of gas, or engine failure) i'm not so sure about the parachuting method (hard to explain within the story of everything, "what did you parachute out off, and why? and also why here in chernarus?") i don't have any clever ideas at hand, but i do like the thought of new ways of spawning in (especially if you're doing it alot :D)

i must just keep getting onto the douche-filled servers...i really don't have a regular one i stay on, which server are you on? maybe it'll have some good people on it. do you know of any other servers that may be filled with friendly people, i'm still pretty new and would like to get away from the beach without dying from random noobs chasing me down before i've even gotten enough supplies to feed/protect myself

that does seem to be the theme of this game, anytime you ask for help from stangers, whether in game or on a forum like this. They come to "help" and instead kill you.....or....you go to help someone asking for assistance and then they kill you....so....it's best just to stay away from strangers (stranger danger!) and keep to your friends

Does the community want DayZ to become harder?
Scawtygs replied to L0G!N (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I am pretty much a noob at this game, and i've died many times from simple things, like dehydration and spawned hordes on my ass. I don't think we need to be worrying about making the game any harder...because my concerns are mainly just to streamline the game as is. Mainly the animations (like zeds running 5 feet after a headshot, or inable to run indoors, or clipping/teleporting through walls and doors) So until we have a smooth 99% glitch-free game...we shouldn't worry about increasing difficulty. because the glitches and odd animations and inventory make it hard enough. Once those few things are simplified/cleaned up, then we can start adding more difficulty (which i am ultimately for, it is a survival game afterall) For example: maybe food/weapon degredation (especially pistols, get one piece of dirt in the slide and they jam so easily) water purification (maybe the infection was waterborne) infected animals a new rest meter for sleep (like in Fallout NV-hardcore) Sleep deprevation can cause many problems, like hallucinations and paranoia etc...google it, it's pretty interesting what lack of sleep does to you a number of realistic things can be added. but these things will just be more annoyances until the game is streamlined (mainly the inventory system, it's so weird) -
that's an excellent point (although i appreciate the realistic time of switching weapons) i too believe that melee weapons should be placeable in secondary slots. Think about it....crowbars, hatchets, machetes, knives, etc can all be held along the belt similiar to a pistol. only a full sized axe would require you to carry it in a bigger strap/holster over the back or shoulder. And i also think more melee weapons being added would be nice, although not a huge thing. I don't mind the amount there is now, it's just an afterthought. And i totally understand the fact they have had to improvise, so i'm looking forward to future updates more than anyone :D

Looking for group to play with
Scawtygs replied to ThereGoesChris's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
how long have you been playing? I'd be willing to team up with you I've been looking for some people to build up a group, who are not already affiliated with a another clan or group. -
what server are you on? i want to get in with some random buddies, with global chat on. Sounds pretty chill and sweet

Good, good, i do love sniping, it's just i always get stuck with shotguns and submachine guns before i do something stupid and die. (usually get trigger happy and get overrun by a horde, or alert a survivor or two who have longer range guns than i do :P)

Seeking Survivors For US Group - Age 30+
Scawtygs replied to ssimmons's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Hey, i'm in the eastern time zone of america, and i'm looking for a good group to join up with. i've only had DayZ for about three days now, but i have a great feeling that i'm a natural at this game. I have Teamspeak as well, and would be open to your schedule. I still haven't mastered the game yet, i'm hoping to do that with a few buddies. -
impressive sir! you took (what seemed like 2 guys, maybe that third bled out behind the building) with great skill, i'd love to run through chernarus with a guy like you as a buddy. You seem to have that rifle well understood

would there be anyway for the server logs to detect the player logging out as his health is dropping rapidly? (like being shot, or attacked by a horde) and punish him on respawn with something extreme, like a pack of wolves (or bigfoot, i like that idea). something that distinguishes between d/c from pussy-ing out from death and from d/c when you just have low health (which i almost always do, i usually get smacked by one zed or two occasionally)

A Few Things I'd Like in DayZ @Rocket and Team
Scawtygs replied to myskaal's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
yeah, i like some of your ideas, and tweaks. It seems like anytime i start coming into a city, zombies just pop up around me, instead of already being there, and i occasionally have zombies spawn in the same house/building i'm in. (i know it's just Alpha stage) so there is plenty of time for those types of fixes, but your other ideas are cool, especially the character journal. i'd like to jot down notes about where things are and what stuff is worth while....and it'd be cool to be able to pick up other players' journals off their bodies (by any means) and read their notes, and maybe even get insights to locations they have remembered, and maybe even their base location WOOO! RECONNAISSANCE!
