This is an interesting idea. How do you imagine society would re-form ? Presumably you'd need a large clan to defend an area as the green zone 24/7 on a particular server. Guess that'd just become a target for other groups then - maybe that's realistic. Anyway, have some beans.

Plenty of pumpkins in game already. If you have the hunting knife you could carve a jack-o-lantern, make a fortifying soup and roast the seeds with a little sea-salt. Veg trifecta. I'll get my coat.

Yea I saw this on ANZ 9 today. I posted a video here: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/35262-the-great-fire-of-chernogorsk/ No idea what caused it, hack ? Or random Dayz event. Looks quite cool though.

jonahcutter, I give you my beans. Totally agree and I hope Rocket sees your post. Couple of types of hand-gun, farmer's old rifle or shotty, that should be it. Being sniped or ganked by tooled-up clanners breaks the magic spell that is DayZ. And there's plenty of games out there for the military wannabes.
