  1. Maybe you should revise your playing style? I was killed by bandits only once yet, and that was the first day I played. So here are a few pointers you might find helpful: 1) Never run on the road. Stick to the treeline 2) Check your surroundings from time to time. 3) If possible stay in the wilderness during your travels. 4) If you stumble upon a town you want to loot, first observe it from the woods. Try to pinpoint locations of the zeds, bandits, lootable buildings. 5) If you hear gunshots, stay hidden, try to find the shooters, observe, eventually pull back. 6) When near the town or other people try to move while prone or at least crouched. 7) Try almost never to use a gun, accept when absolutely necessary. If you have to kill a zombie, lead it far into the woods and then shoot it. 8) No fucking about when in towns. You head straight for your target, get in, take everything you need and get out. For this it might be necessary to manage space in your inventory before heading into the danger zone. EDIT: 9) Don't stay on the coast. It's a newbie hunting ground. Head inland and try your luck there. I hope this'll help you a bit.

    I don't speak for the majority, but after the initial butthurt that commenced after the 1.5.7. people actually got a hang of the zombies, and there not that much of a problem anymore. Sure there are still newbies that struggle with that, but after little time they will get the hang of that too. I understand that zombie spawn may be a little frustrating when they appear right before your eyes, but it will be fixed I presume. But if I understand you correctly your beef is with their number and the way they roam. If that's the case than this is exactly the road this mod is taking, and I would only expect it to get harder in this regard when the AI of the zeds is fixed. I understand I may sound rude, but it's not my intention, I'm just trying not to bullshit you. If you don't have the time and patience for this game than you will never achieve anything worthwhile here, so maybe it is better to look for something else, or change your approach accordingly.

    No it didn't destroy anything. It made it harder. I like that. A lot of people like that. You don't. So if the majority likes the difficulty and you don't, than maybe this game really isn't for you?

    Than maybe you should look for a different game? I'm not trying to be an asshole, don't get me wrong, but this is just this kind of game that requires a bit more effort and time. If you don't have time for it, than maybe you should find something that requires less of it.

    And what about other races? If there would be Negro skin, or Asian skin would you shoot them? Do you think they be more likely to shoot you? Where do you people get problems like that? Only thing more stupid than this thread are people in here claiming that "girls don't belong here" that way or another. All they're doing is suggesting that's their little private blayground and "icky" girls are not allowed, because they're afraid they'll take their toys away and make them play "house". I don't consider this an issue at all. Female skin itself wouldn't change anything as far as I'm concerned. If they ever make them - fine. If not - I couldn't care less.

    Im am against this idea. This would lead to the situation like in MMOs where you have a server full of players with uber gear and a few newbies running with makarovs getting slaughtered by bandits. Also there would be even more reason to become a bandit if after some time you could die and know that when you respawn you will still have your sniper rifle or AK. Right now when I'm strolling the land, and see two newbies with so-so equipment, and I have better gear, I consider my chances of attack, because I could lose everything. If your idea came into life I could easily abuse this system after few hours of play, always coming back to uber weapons I had six hours ago. Let's say I have a sniper rifle for a long time now, I had a shitty last six hours, didn't find anything good, and then had an encounter with the zeds or bandits and lost all of my ammo. What do I do? I die, so I can get back the good gear and full ammo I had six hours ago. I'm afraid this idea wouldn't go well with the concept of the game.
  9. The bandit system seems little artificial right now, so maybe it's not a bad idea to see it go in favor of finding new clothes. It would be cool if some new additions would come with it. For example military skin would give you some more damage resistance, a coat could keep you warm during rain (when the temperature feature will come into play), and so on. As for the bandits - right now we are all in the same team. Maybe after killing someone you should be automaticaly assigned to the opposing team, with their own side chat and so on. 1. Bandits couldn't track you based on the chat with other survivors. 2. When you would aim your crosshair at them their names could appear in red. This would balance the game a little bit and would keep both sides organized and better separated from each other without changing their appearance.

    Melee Weapon Petition

    Man I love this mod, but I just can't figure out the community surrounding it. Every time somebody has some idea, people have to ridicule it or say he just wants the game easier. This game aims at realism, right? Did you ever see some of the most popular zombie fiction? Trilogy of the Dead? Walking Dead? Melee is CRUCIAL part of zombie survival. We won't ever achieve realism in Day Z if there won't be some sort of melee. Think about it. Why would anyone risk shooting a zombie standing by the doorway to the house where the loot is, and risk alerting a whole town of walking dead, if they can just wack a zombie in the head with an axe or something? It just doesn't make sense. Thinking that melee would make the game easier just shows, that you have no idea how that kind of combat works in real life. It should take at least a few swings to kill a zombie that spotted you, and one hit for one who didn't. Also it would trigger a fighting animation, that would make you an easy target for any zombies that are around you. You couldn't ever manage to kill more than two or three zombies that way, and even that would result in massive amount of wounds and bloodloss. It wouldn't make the game easier, it would make it more realistic, and I think this is what most of us want, right?
