HFBServers.com is GREAT
replied to rockstar (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
@rockstar thanks for the kind words and yes he was taken care of. @bobbybonesjones how is his post spam? because he put in a link? If i recall right putting a link in a post is allowed (thats how we link people to the hosting) -
Australian/New Zealand Servers
replied to Blackout1050's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I really want to do that but hows the hit detection with higher pings (From Aus to USA pings are generally 300-600)' date=' i don't want to have to shoot a zombie 5 times before it actually registers and get hit from a few metres away. Other than that i'm fine with playing on overseas servers. [/quote'] Well from what i have heard an LA server or a Seattle server ping the best for any Australian player connecting to a USA server. Try checking your ping to any of the seattle servers. Or possibly an LA server. Im guessing your looking at around 200 maybe less. -
Australian/New Zealand Servers

join a west coast USA server. Locations like seattle and LA offer the best ping for Australian players when a Australian server is not available. We have a decent amount of customers from Australia who choose servers for that reason. -

So only the server/account owner can update? Is there a way to give non-owner admins more control on an account? Basically this server was set up for a large group of people that are all members on a forum. One guy took the initiative to set it up but we all "own" it by taking turns paying and/or just chipping in money to the paypal account. Because of this there's going to be a select few of us that will have admin but we need full admin-level control which I would hope includes being able to update the server. What are our options considering how we are running our server? Your going to have to ask the owner of the server (according to our billing system) to give the sub users more permissions. They have the ability to give as much or as little access for sub users as they want.

we only allowed a few customers to have adjusted times originally. As far as the few responses about the 25 slot vs the 40 we offer now. Rocket has made it clear that he wants all servers to be 40 or above from now on. 25 slot servers are not allowed any more. We have some plans for times and what not but those will be coming in the future. We know how most companies are doing the time changing which atm we could do but it would not be exactly what we want. Just give it some time. You have to remember the amount of access we are giving people is actually a lot atm. You get full ftp access to your server. Along with a full featured Control panel that allows start stop do scheduled restarts and the ability to view your servers console. Setting up things like rcon and what not is all done by the client allowing them/you to run the server how you like (following the rules of course) Me and Adam have been working very hard on all these new things. I would also like to point out that i went from hosting a couple servers for my minecraft community (savage realms) to now hosting over 200 servers in less then a month. This is a lot of work and i understand the older clients are not seeing it yet. But trust me when i say. It was worth the wait.

There are still over 100 clients not on the CP and over 100 on it. The people not on the cp will get access to the CP when they renew for the next month which is also when all of the dallas servers will be moved to seattle. We did extensive testing regarding connection, ping, etc and found that when the server is closer to the HIVE the benefits are a lot better then being further from the HIVE and having the server closer to your personal location. Since ping in dayz does not matter as much as it does in games like counter strike this change is more for the benefit then loss. I have spoken with the other large provider of dayz servers (The owner of Vilayer) and he agreed with what i said above. All the servers on the CP were updated but the non cp ones are being updated manually. Which as you can imagine updating 100+ servers takes time. Saying your server is a brick and can't be used is simply false. Your server can very much be used all you have to do is not update right when it comes out. We chose to wait and not update them to 1.7.1 right when it came out because we had a feeling there would be another update very soon after. Now i need to get back to updating servers. Thanks Anthony

To be honest, thats kind of unnacceptable especially if you cannot find out until your server is up. If we get stuck with a server on the West coast it will most likely be unplayable for our UK members. We offer US and EU servers. If you order an EU server you get a server in germany. If you order a US server you get a server in the US. We try to keep it as simple as possible.

As many of you admins and possibly players know some servers simply dont have any vehicles. The reason is the devs for dayz have not added it to your mission/instance id. I contacted one of the devs and he posted whats below "We'll be processing servers one by one once we sort some issues. Vehicles arent currently being processed until we fix these problems." So thats it folks. All the people who have a newer server (like me) can't have vehicles till they fix some things. There is no way to fix it atm. Kind of sucks i know.

Waiting is something you have to do even with vilayer. I have personally spoken with the owner of vilayer (lee) he has agreed that dayz has a lot of issues atm that it is hit and miss to get a perfect server. He has had TONS of people complain just like we have. People just don't realize how different dayz is compared to just about any game when it comes to the server side stuff. Its simply not stable and since it relies on a connection to a remote database it has issues with that on top of tons of other things You need to realize that every host will have issues with dayz. If they say they have not had one issue then they are lying to your face. The arma server engine paired with dayz just does not work flawlessly like a lot of other games or even close for that matter.
