  1. In the absence of Battleye actually working the only substitute is server admins having spectating ability and that is a path that Rocket et al refuse to take. So enjoy the teleporting, thunderdome, invisible invincible fully kitted snipers. Script logchecking doesn't work half the time because they're bypassed, or injecting the hack onto innocent players. The only real path is RPT checking and that's a giant mess.

    I have my server set to lock for the 5 minute period directly before a server restart to prevent players losing progress. I imagine some server admins do the same thing.

    Question About Opteron CPUs

    Running on a dual core Opteron (2.41ghz). Realistically, DayZ needs only one core and doesn't even saturate that fully. At most I hit 35% load.

    We use a combination of BEC and .bat files in order to restart. Because people complained about how their positions were not saved due to 1.7.2 and the Hive not working well together there's a massive amount of warnings about restarts. The server also locks 2 minutes before a restart to prevent people from connecting. At 1 minute after the hour a Windows scheduled task for executing the bat file triggers and then reloads the server.     You can log into the game manually as a server admin, which gives you the ability to use global.

  13. The fact that there still isn't a confirmed listing on what weapons are actually in the mod and not hacked in is telling. Don't see why both sidechat and 'dropping items while in water' aren't checkable items to be enabled or disabled during mission file creation.

Recently got a server, transferred all the files (from a Steam install, unfortunately), keep having this pop up when the server is started: Warning Message: Cannot open object ca\air2\uh1y\uh1y_crashed.p3d which then spams: ca\air2\uh1y\uh1y_crashed.p3d: No geometry and no visual shape every second. The server actually still works and operates fully but it decides to make logfiles balloon as a result of that spam. I'm not sure if the crashed helicopters actually exist in the server at all. Any idea what the cause of this is?

  16. Nope, but I was there to see that guy get sniped. If you're farther up on top of the hill you can easily hit people but the fog is impenetrable without the L85.

    The status of vehicles isn't being saved correctly. Found a bus, fixed bus up (bus was not the shot out model). Server restart, bus is in same position but is no longer repaired.

    Barbed wire and tank trap emplacement wouldn't actually be a huge issue if they were actually removed from the master server's database when you destroy/remove them. Currently all that happens is they pop back up when the server restarts in the same location. Same thing goes for flattened tents.

    The respawning mechanic is currently hugely fucked. Server restarts just put the vehicles back at the exact location at which they were destroyed. Which is annoying.

    Thermal weapons are in the game (or were in the case of M107 TWSes, legacy weapons), the L85A2 is now a crashed helicopter spawn. Your other points are valid.

    Occam's Razor would be that you would be hacking, since nametags can never be enabled on Veteran servers. Try again.
