    I hope the patch takes longer to come out just so all of you lose interest and go away. You paid 30 dollars for an early access. They could quit making the game now and no crime would be committed. The warnings were literally painted all over the store page basically stating. "Hey, this game is a mess. Like, don't buy it. Wait, why are you buying it? Okay, you can buy it but don't complain when everything's broken." The trade is completed, nobody has any obligation to talk to anybody here. You are not an alpha tester, you just bought an alpha. You are not an investor. He does not have to keep you updated on the workings of the project. 30 dollars does not make the development team your beau. Again, you purchased the alpha. You made the decision. Good day. Oh and if you'd like to try it out in it's unfinished state you can.

    I think the M4 should be more accurate mechanically but I don't think we should be able to take advantage of that accuracy to the fullest. I've played flashpoint, arma 2, and the dayz mod and aiming was always too easy. The m4 isn't currently the tack driver that it is in real life but it gets the job done on semi auto perfectly fine. The mod system currently is quite weird. A stock shouldn't grant such a large penalty or bonus as its just a piece of plastic. So in my opinion, aiming should be difficult unless crouched or prone unlike arma 2. I like the untrained survivor approach.

If you somehow and unlikely discover some obscure bug, post it in the bug tracker and then link to it. This is not a living document, the original post is the "living document" everything else is just noise.

    T-72 Wait, but hear me out. Theres absolutely no ammo available anywhere for the main gun and it takes a ridiculous amount of maintenance and fuel.

    A zombie has a random but rare chance to hit you for an extremely high amount of damage. It's happened to all my friends, its got nothing to do with your gear. Zombies are extremely problematic at the moment as everyone knows. They are much more vigilant than even the most experienced players, they are often completely silent, and killing one just spawns another one at a completely random and often close range. Theres also no stealthy ranged weapon yet that doesn't draw every zombie within a 100 m.
  12. Having a bloodsucker from STALKER would be kind of lame but something along the lines of its lethality would be pretty good. If you say thats unrealistic or doesn't "fit" than you've lost sight of the big picture. This is a zombie game.

    Did you change any of those settings in your .ini file ? Like the ones that are recommended for performance?

    Cooking ammo and timed explosives

    Throwing small arms ammo into a fire really isnt that dangerous, the casing usually flies off with minimal velocity. Shotgun shells on the other hand are a different story. Gotta say no to this suggestion, there's already enough ways to kill someone in the game.

    Change object detail to normal at the very least and everything is rendered properly, bugs notwithstanding.

  20. Despite the title, hardcore is actually safer. The firefights are extremely intense though as you balance out the usage of cover and observation

    Mosin vs M4A1

    I'm not going anywhere and I know exactly how accurate both weapons are in real life. I'm mostly speaking about the caliber type. A full sized cartridge is designed to go farther than an intermediate one. The present Mosin is more of a placeholder as an accurized rifle rather than an old battle rifle that gets passable groups at 100 meters. If they do add more long range rifles, I hope they don't outperform the design of the present mosin model that we already have which is effective enough as is.

    Shadows have minimal tactical advantage in game. What conceals your position mainly is your movement and the color of the clothes you have on.

    The accuracy on the M4 is perfectly fine. The PVP in standalone even in its busted state is much better than the mod as a result. To kill an enemy you have to close width which requires more maneuvering than it did with the mod. I personally hope that the Mosin remains the only sniper in the game besides the KAR98 when they add it. Theres a certain demo-graph on here that thinks that having realistic weapon mechanics such as accuracy results in realistic firefights. They are mistaken and the reason why is in a combat situation people are inaccurate. To support this idea even more, DayZ is not a team deathmatch permadeath arma 2 scenario. Its a civilian survival game. Our characters shouldn't be able to stretch the AR platform out to 400 meters by simply pointing and clicking. The present designs put in place are fantastic and the near misses that occur when you are fired upon give you at least a chance to become suppressed. That in of itself opens up the door for fire and maneuver tactic that actually requires more strategy and ultimately, gambling.
  24. The 3rd person camera grants excessive levels of battlefield awareness. To observe something, it should come at some risk of exposure. For instance, you can sit in a control tower prone when your entire body is covered and see everything that is going on outside. This will also eleivate a lot of the really annoying "sniping" thats been going on. A player will sit in a well concealed location that would normally obsure any kind of field of fire and will just come out of the cover to make a cheap shot when the moment is right. The stakes are high for combat and death in this game because of the pain in the ass of respawning, which is a great thing. 3rd person perpective cheapens the engagments and levels of realism. I say field goal kick the entire feature out of the mod. ;)
