  1. Sorry I'm at work. What I meant by upgrade was upgrading to a new laptop. I would look for dedicated graphics chips in a new laptop.
  2. I would suggest (if you plan on sticking to laptops) to invest a little more money into an upgrade if you plan on doing so. Probably something that has 4xxm or 5xxm nvidia graphics hardware to get some decent performance.
  3. Even with DayZ alone, you would need a pretty big step up with your graphics processor. Your cpu should be fine being a dual core but there is no real way of installing a GPU inside the case of the laptop, hence the external modification suggestion. If you are not super tech savvy or familiar with computer modding I would probably avoid such a solution.
  4. An external mod would be impractical and possibly expensive as well as potentially voiding any warranty you may have on it. I would probably just invest in building a stand alone PC or save up for a laptop with more dedicated graphics hardware. The intel HD graphics just don't cut it. The laptop you have is seems like it's simply not designed for high level gaming, more of a general purpose/media laptop. The best you could do it chuck in more RAM and migrate to an SSD without any modifications but the performance gained from that is still questionable.

    Have i looted a hacker???

Sounds like a hacked weapon. I would guess it would vanish on different server because as your profile is transferred to be used on a different server, it only gets the values for items that are meant to be in DayZ.
  6. Try re-install the driver but also get something like GPU-Z and check the temp of the card when under load. It is most likely a software issue though.
  7. Check to make sure it is not snowing. The weather effects are quite realistic.

Turned into a dog, any way to fix?

I was recently turned into a bird for a short period of time. Could not do anything yet I changed back after I reloaded a couple of times.
  9. I would say that ramping up your texture detail and AF setting will most likely help your texture quality at a distance. Play with them a little and see if there is any difference.
  10. I am also interested in this. It would seem to be the engine trying to increase frame rates by not loading high quality textures at a distance with such a long draw distance. What are your current settings in game? My current avg FPS is consistent across all setting combinations so I might as well have good textures on all the time if possible.

    Ridiculous FPS Lag

I'm running dual 560Ti cards with i7950 and getting the same problems. Most threads seem to point to a problem with the way structures are loaded/rendered (buildings in cities and stuff.) The fps drop is most noticeable in cities and when I walk back out into the forest or coast it smooths out again to at least something playable. Any change in video related settings in game have had little to no effect. The hardware in peoples computers is not the problem... It's the engine having a lack of optimisation for the time being. Hopefully as more patches roll around this problem can be fixed. I want my delicious 60+fps
  12. Is there anything else like flush that could potentially be used to help keep running smooth. I noticed the forest getting rid of the lag as well(finally got out there for once.)
  13. I know 3 other people getting the same problem regardless of setup (Hardware/drivers/in game settings) including myself. I'm starting to think it must be a memory leak of some sort as I extensively tested temperature and loads. CPU/GPU all within normal operating thresholds at stable clocks and the results are actually lower than other more resource hungry games that run totally fine (Battlefield 3 etc.)
  14. Is there a way to filter by region to cut down loading times?
  15. OK So I'll say right off the bat, being my first post, that DayZ is an amazing mod. I understand it still has many changes to be made yet I would like to see if I can figure out a few problems. So my issues are graphics related and most likely caused by software however It would be great to have some other perspectives on my issue. :) The System: i7-950 @ Stock 12GB RAM 2x 560Ti SLI (Latest Stable Drivers) Storage = Over 9000 Win7 - 64bit Latest DayZ builds The Problem: Frame rates are inconsistent across different servers Intermittent artifacts Driver stops responding resulting in a black screen then continues to minimize the game leaving the game running in the background (I can hear myself running around) yet unable to maximize and see anything other than my normal desktop. Also one other minor problem is having a significant delay on the mouse movement which I have encountered in other engines and fixed by turning off v-sync, however, this did not solve that problem in this case. Testing so far: So far I have tried a few different servers with the same settings and gotten anywhere between 60+fps to 20fps. Disabling AA and PP yields slightly higher performance but not as noticeable on the servers already giving bad frame rates. CPU load and temperatures are within acceptable levels (<40% load, avg 65c) GPU loads sometimes spike to as high as 100% however temperature remain at a max of 74c at any given time. I have a lot more testing to do however I am currently at work so I will update as I go.
