I read in a Rocket interview that he wants to work with Bohemia and use the Arma engine in his standalone game. :(

From what I've read, the Arma 2 engine isn't capable of anything. *breaks legs trying to climb through door while zombies hit through walls*

If you think about it there would undoubtadely be currency in a zombie apocalypse. If not, there would be absolutely no community, and then it'd be a deathmatch and everyone would be dead in months.

I only read half way down but it seems like a real good idea, but just 1 thing. Do NOT have serperate storage spaces for different things. I could have 10 food slots, 10 medical slots. I could have 11 cans of beans and 1 bandage and I cannot carry that last tin of beans in the medical bag? Why? Some sort of force is stopping me? Nah, just have 42 slots of just a single "inventory" aka a bag or series of bags that you can put ANYTHING in, just like real life. If I get a backpack IRL i can throw anything inside :D

Because I am still getting this message I'd like to know 2 things. Fisrtly, where can I find my exact patch? It display 1.61 but I want to see the entire patch number. As the servers require patch 1.61.95054. Secondly, is there a list of patches somewhere on this website or forum? I strongly support this idea! But keep it simple.

I came to play today by running Six Updater and all sorts of crap started updating and downloading, now it all looks different and I have no idea how to start the game. So I came to the forums and found Rocket's post about making a folder named DayZ in the Arma2 directory. Then a subfolder called Addons and filled it with all the extracts I downloaded. Then I went ingame on Arma 2: OA on Steam and enabled the addons, restarted the game and all of the DayZ servers in the list are marked with a red X and this message is displayed: http://img171.images...4riw47iw47i.png Also, here is the addons folder, do I have all the necessary files in there? http://img837.images...7/205/aq3ui.png Thanks so much for reading. :)

Herp derp I'm practically asking how I can do that.

I managed to get a killcount of 80+ zombies on my first character.

I installed Arma 2 and :CO and then Six Updater. Ran Six Updater, it did some shit and then showed a server list, I chose a server and played. Now it's updated it's all different and yes I use Six Updater still.

Yeah those ones at the top are Arma 2 servers. Every single one below (1,000+ servers) are all X's "have you tryed joining throw Six Launcher not gamespy" What does that mean? I'n 99% new to this game. :)

If it's night time you can literally sneak right up to them and 1shot them, that's what I did and it was on my first life so I'm sure a more seasoned player can do better.

Great guide, thanks for the info! Now I am definitely going to plug in my mic and have it nearby constantly so I scream at people when they shoot me :D

I would suggest that we add a Guide Section to the forums for people to post their guides. Some examples would be: 1. How to use the sun as a compass 2. Where to find animals and how to use them as food 3. Navigating using an online map The list goes on, I had a look around the forums and couldn't find a place for posting guides.
