I've been wandering a bit and have not yet found....

It sure isn't. Sure there are parts of Ex-USSR that are if you want so third world. Like Tschetschenia or more south east countries. Chernorussia is geographically part of EASTERN EUROPE which is in fact not part of third world. p.S.: The term 3rd world isn't used nowadays, because there isn't a split between the western and the eastern block anymore. And what is referred to as third world is mostly Africa, South-America and parts of Asia - look here -
I would be pleased with more gestures at all! But how about cascading commands like F1->F4->F4 for 'I'->'see'->'sniper' quick and intuitive! What do you say?

Night vision goggles more common

that's how I understand it, too! -
Recently played 'State of Decay'? No but seriously I find this someway good, someway bad. Bad news first: -This would automatically make open shelfs or boards unusable. -Three people searching the same shelf, everyone finds something different. That wouldn't make much sense in my opinion. Pros: -Items need not to be in the server cache all the time and it can be utilized for other things. -Pants wouldn't just lie in an alleyway. Or maybe this is intended in some storytelling aspect. Did anyone ever see a pantless zombie? Seriously what do you think? My beans to op for making a constructive post!

+1 only see full servers -> no filters or couldn't connect to server

Someone just linked in this article in another thread: http://www.fastcompany.com/3025201/most-creative-people/dayz-a-murder-simulator-psychology-study-and-zombie-game-tests-your-emo U should take a look! @ worst2first: Totally true. DayZ will create an awesome atmosphere - immersion at its finest ;) Yeah, you die, you respawn, nothing that bad. But if you let it happen...it creates moments of shock and fear like no other game I know, you get into it and maybe thats the reason why I love playing it so much. -> do you play first person? Being with Bandits makes you one it seems. Instead of delivering on my threat and shoot KoSBuddy, I killed an innocent guy, that had his weapon on his back... Cling together, swing together it seems.... You my friend, joined the dark side

DayZ in the headlines as "Murder Simulator Like No Other" - LOL!

It's one of the most adult approaches to video games I've ever read, truly! They'd have my beans! -
Plz click the links 'cause I picked random pictures from google to make it graphic, but I guess you need to click 'em 'cause they aren't white listed. Brothers in arms Let's finish it right here! It is the situation that defines people's behavior. And people tend to act odd, when it comes to strange situations. The funny thing about this is, at least as how I read it, that after each of you killed each other, except of the silent dude, you now have cooled down your temper and it appears that each of you guys reflected about the past events and learned something for the future :beans: Very impressed about the style of the thread, the story and the reactions of the others. Guess this forum is some kind mature at some points. And I will not stop saying that this game is one of the greatest labs for social studies I've ever seen!

"You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain" DayZ

absolutely once you got good stuff. Mostly you become a threat -
This ship is an awesome piece of art. It is so rich of details. First time I went there seeing it. It was an awe inspiring vision. This steel giant stranded on the blunt rocks. Wanted to surround it and after investigating the area and couldn't see anything moving I decided to go inside. So I went down the rocks on the northern side and suddenly got stuck inside. It took me more than 15 minutes to get out of the magnetic field of the rocks. Btw. the only way is up, or prove me better, and prepare to vault a lot! ^^ Finally on board of the freighter I can't tell if I have ever seen such a well designed ship of this size From the rear you have a pretty descent view to north Berenzino. So beware if you are heading there! And this really is a fine and rare piece of literature, seldom found in places like this! My :beans: to you Mr. Rhodes!

Everyone I know, goes away in the end ... what have I become, my sweetest friend? God I love this song! Got Johnny right inside my brain B) I know what you mean, Sir! Ramming a man a baseballbat in his head is an act of sheer brutallity! Is this what this game makes us?!? This game is one of the most interesting things known to me. One should quench the social sciences out of it! This is one great simulation of needs in an unlawful world!!! :beans:  Anyway great narration of your incident with the fist-swinging, warping asian dude!

everyone who's staying on a crossroads obviously won't kill you on sight :P
-
have u put ahci on in your bios? if not change it and reinstall everything that should make things faster
-
run around in the north you will find lots of unfinished areas. Obviously they aren't finished with revamping the map ;)
-
It's a geometry issue. Do as LaughingJack said and you should get out asap. And I know it sounds odd, but move upwards. And kids remember: Don't log out if you are near to a wall in an upper floor, otherwise you might fall to ground level after logging in the next time.
-
Yes, but only to show the interactions possible. I remember in the mod that you just hovered around and were able to spot any survivor in direct line of sight popping his name in your hud

BF2 on hardcore servers !!! just loved it !!!

I would suggest to remove the dot at all, just my opinion but i always found that silly

I guess we should make OPs point more clear. The topic is about the value of your character beyond his gear. By this you will force the players to be a little more cooperative and eventually reduce KOS. (Yes, I really hope this!) The basic idea is, that you are able to evolve your character due to doing things related to a certain aspect. Bandaging wounds, blood donation and so on go in medical 'skill'. In respect to other 'abilities'. In my opinion the progess needn't be visible to keep the grinding low. And one of the above writers is right NO XP-BAR! But: You can grind your skill up to an extend but it will draw up scarce ressources. And here is your real grind. You gotta get the gear to do the action. Which will force you to risk something or eventually you are even going to trade?!?! And hell yeah!!! Shoot your precious ride to pieces so you can repair it afterwards. How silly, but if you want, go that way. Another aspect I already mentioned is: If you put some effort in your character, not his gear, you will play differently. Anyone ever played Diablo in hardcore? If yes, than I think you will get the point.

If you only got 2 hours for sessions and don't play every evening, then expect until you got addicted to this unsmoothed gem, you won't play much other games for some time. Because, it has this oh, I will check this tiny bit and that ... two hours are over in no time.
