  1. It depends on the server. * Some debug areas are in wastelands to the North or West of the Chernarus continent. - The 1st debug area was that island.
  2. The game must have a solid base at the release. * If you release a "AAA" title with a weak base, it will crumble. - If you want a example, check out what happened to the mmorpg "Star Wars the Old Republic" - Rushed for Christmas sales, in the end it failed and a subscription game went "free to play" in less than a year after it was released. Let rocket finish the game, and please let it have a solid base to start from. * Games that are not being rushed for this year are. - DayZ Standalone - Rome 2 Total War
  3. Nice try bro. * That small island is the debug area. It's technically where you 1st spawn and your then teleported to the beach.

    Why banditing?

The survival aspect of the game is "very easy" * It's easy to survive against a couple zombies, if you know how to play the game. At this stage of the mod, people have gathered the best gear in the game and feel there is nothing else to do. * So people start killing other players, these other players might have items of which you might need. Just yesterday, I was sick and I needed antibiotics. "Btw, I know the trick to lose it, but I can't use it in the specific area I was in." * I heard gunshots in the island fortress. - Dying slowly from sickness, I killed the survivor of which killed three other survivors. - I killed him not that he killed the others, but to check if he has antibiotics. - Why didn't I ask him, I'd rather not take a chance with a sniper that killed three people with a dmr. In the end, he had antibiotics and I "survived"
  5. To blame other servers to be corrupt admins, and then to advertise your own server for having legit / fair admins. * Why should I trust the server admins on your server? There are various server of which have excellent admins and overall good maintenance. * Finding a "Good active admin" is rare today, but it easily makes the game 10x better in catching those who cheat and script.
  6. Learn how to play the game 1st. * Then proceed into playing the ARMA 2 CO mod "Dayz" The unique experience of this game is that you have a choice in your style of play. * You could just go into the game blindly and learn it the hard way, or just play the tutorials. - Don't expect the game to hold your hand, this isn't your casual game. Tips * Read the various keybinds that you have. * Play the bootcamp tutorial. * Try the showcase scenarios, to try various weapons. - Once you understand the brutal gameplay of ARMA 2, you will be ready for DayZ. As for talking on "side-chat", no offense you deserved it. * Side-chat is not there for you to talk to every player on the server, but its the only way for players to report a hacker to the admins. - Without the admins checking the logs. * If you really wanted to talk to a player near you, use "Direct Communication" - You will quickly find out why people hate "side-chat", for people abuse the system.

No DayZ for 8 months, few quick Q's

Ask "WooTs", his avatar looks friendly...

No DayZ for 8 months, few quick Q's

The only way to combat, duping is to report it to the admins. * On one of the servers I played, I was able to find a camp filled with duped weapons and the admin addressed the situation by looking into the overall issue and banning those responsible.

No DayZ for 8 months, few quick Q's

Thus, you need an active admin of which can check the logs for scripters/hackers. * Something that is not possible on the official hive. Trust me dude, I was playing back when the hackers where rampant as-well. * Never bothered to go north on chernarus, because I was getting killed by a hacker three times a day.

If third person was removed from DayZ...

I better tip my local bus driver. * Also I've never turned around in a forest. But, I drive drive a bus in pitch darkness on Chernarus. * I was called a bad-ass for avoiding obstacles from Cherno to Novy Sobor, but I used 3rd person.... :(

No DayZ for 8 months, few quick Q's

Instead of playing the main hive, I'd suggest trying private servers. * Many servers have taken both the "AS50 and L85 Thermal" out of the game. * Private servers also give the admins an ability to combat hacking, while on the main hive its just guessing. My personal suggestion, would try out the bill may servers. * http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/83535-private-hive-billy-mays-remembrance-foundation-automatic-whitelistnew-weaponsactive-admins/ Their site * http://bmrf.me/

If third person was removed from DayZ...

Eh, I was going to agree with you. * But for the sake of realism, no. There was a couple times, me and my friends spotted players over stone walls in vehicles such as the url. * Only because I used the 3rd person camera. - I'd never would know using 1st person.

    Returning to Dayz

Just find a sever with "Active admins", and I stress the word "ACTIVE". * There are a couple decent servers of which are being well maintained. As for the official public hive, I'd stay away. * Still plenty of hackers on that, the admins can't check the logs or do anything versus those hackers. - Only ban random people.

Can I please get an opinion

I am pretty sure that "Foxhound" can afford a better system. * They did build "Metal Gear Rex", with just a couple billion dollars. In other news... A dual core processor... What did you expect?

If third person was removed from DayZ...

People don't want to lose "3rd person" because it gives everyone an advantage. * When I returned to an old 1st person server, I still hit the 3rd person key about 3-4 times. It's just an unrealistic advantage in the game. * People enjoy camping and spying the enemy. - Over fences. - Around buildings. - Camping rooftops (Hospital anyone?) - An advantage in spotting enemies? Casuals don't want to lose this.

    So I ran 14600 meters

The gestapo forum team strikes again. * You bastards

    Why always Russia

Just checked out your avatar. * Sweet Pea. Are you the guy I shoot north of berezino, last night? * The body that left for you to loot?
  18. sobieski12

    Why always Russia

Never played "stalker", I did play the campaign in modern warfare 1... * The very linear campaign mission. I'd love to survive in a large deserted area like in "Chernobyl", the city that resembles to it the closest is the main city in Namalsk. * Vorkuta If only I could make ARMA 2 maps...
  19. sobieski12

    Why always Russia

    Need a city? Chernobyl
  20. Your character could be ex-military. * I do not see the issue if you have the overall experience. * Unless you guys dislike the standard ejection system as-well? Still looking for a server supporting the ACE mod. But interesting enough, the server I did the HALO jump. * They also implemented a scavenging script. - The ability to go to cars and take apart good wheels and other parts. But ofc, you need a toolbox. * Good stuff.

    Children and Women Zombies?

Zombie women and children is a great Idea. * Didn't the "TV series - The Walking Dead" have a episode where the main character shoot a zombie child? - But wait, that was before the shooting. My guess is that is why people are against this idea. * Overall it's a great idea, but there will be people against it. * The NRA might even use it as proof that games promote child violence... But, in Borderlands 2. * No has a problem in killing the "mini-me psychos".

    Fun with Satchel Charges

My personal vid with c4. * Never going to forget how funny it was. B)
  23. I'll keep this video here for the dayz gallery, hope you guys like it. Personally playing on the map "Namalsk", I've always wanted to destroy Tara bridge. * Turns out, it works. - and we also scored a bonus of an enemy being on the bridge. * After we killed the enemy, we later found out that it was a known combat logger. So it just made it even more funny... lol
  24. I didn't really ever find a destructible bridge on "chernarus", most of them are indestructible. * It would cool to see how it would implement on various scenarios on the map. Personally playing on the map "Namalsk", I've always wanted to destroy Tara bridge. * Turns out, it works. - and we also scored a bonus of an enemy being on the bridge. Should other maps have more destructible objects? * Btw the guy that died had plenty of supplies, loved the blood bags
  25. sobieski12

    Destructible bridges are "EPIC".

It would be for sure interesting to see some more "critically valuable bridges". * Tara bridge is very important due to its connection to the south-eastern section of the island. Swimming would more than likely make you sick, thus you ether forced with a choice to either choose the "land route" or "Tara bridge". * As crazy as it is, Tara bridge provides cover, while the land route has no cover. But it also depends entirely on the situation. * Satchel charges are rare and the should be used for critical situations... Sadly there are not many places on chernarus to place them really... So people just stash it in their tents...
