    FPS Issues!

I'd also download "CPU-Z" * Monitor your CPU in-case of any overheating issues http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/cpu-z/1.62-setup-en.exe

    FPS Issues!

Download MSI afterburner. * Check the GPU usage of your cards. http://event.msi.com...er/download.htm Could you show us a screenshot of your in-game adv settings? Might I suggest you "OC" your processor? * 3.6 stable at 1.375 volts * Check the limit of your processor. RAM should be fine. * DDR2 or DDR3 The bottleneck? * I'd say its the CPU.

    Namalsk is incredible.

Namalsk is a death-match type of map. * Even tho I love the main city "Vorkuta", feels great with the music and atmosphere. - Best part it actually forced players from all over to the map to the city, to find food/gear. Till the map developer changed that... Don't expect to hide anything on this map. * Even tho I never did, the map is very small. - Some still try. The freezing temperate of Namalsk is amazing, you should have been there the 1st week. When the map was first released, players gave up clips of ammo for "HEATPACKS" to survive the journey into the mountains to find better military gear. Either way, both Namalsk and Chernarus have pros and cons, but overall it depends on your play style.

    opinions on specs

My lowest in cherno with max settings was 50 FPS. * It will be the same for him, if he makes this rig.

PSU :You can lower the the wattage for the PSU, unless you want to do a quad sli setup. * Around 800+ * Better question, what type of cooling will you use? - Water cooled or Air cooled Heatsink? Case? Processor : That is a great processor of which should do fine, great OC potential * I've got the same processor MB : The mb is overall good, the Z77 should be just fine with your processor. * PCI Express 3.0 x16 ftw RAM : Do not ignore this category and buy the cheapest RAM on the market. * Buy at-least 16 gigs of RAM - more RAM - more performance - Why should you? * Create a RAM disk to boast your pc performance. http://www.pcworld.c...a_ram_disk.html Grahpics card : The SLI GTX 680 2gb will be very good for FPS. * But I must ask, are you planning to run this on a single monitor or three monitors? - If your planning to run three monitors get the 4gb version of the card.

The GTX690 is at stock speed, during the time I made those screenshots. * Both GPUs are working since, the percentage was relatively the same. - Take a look at a couple screenshot I took, and look at the top left of the screen at the purple font. It was a "on screen display" of both GPUs, and in-game FPS. --- I might try to "OC" the card later today. * See if the results remain the same or if it does change.

I've only used "MSI Afterburner", when I posted the screenshots. * I'll try your program. - As for the background programs, nothing out of the ordinary. But I am concerned about the gpu percentage overall. * That depends on the game engine, tho. ------------------ Well this is interesting. * The graphics card actually worked harder out in the fields than in the city. - lol

There is a way to increase your FPS. * But it would require some old school techniques. - From the information I've read about the subject, it could improve the FPS in ARMA quite significantly. Has anyone tried to "DRAM" DayZ? ---- What is so special about "DRAM"? * Significant FPS boast. What is the cost? * About 50 - 100 usd What is "DRAM"? * Still looking into the overall subject, essential you would load the ARMA files on RAM. - Thus you would need a significant amount of RAM. - From there you would interact with the game faster than you would with a SSD. But of course, you will lose all the files once you turn off your system. * Thus, you need a program to re-write the data every-time you turn the system on.

Consider it more of test than anything else. * Yeah the overall fps is quite interesting to test. - Both GPUs, were not actually working at its full capacity. - I am talking in regards of the "percentage" the GPUs were working at. As for bragging, I don't really see a point to it. * I just payed more for parts than others usually do. --- Personally, before I even bought the system. * I am concerned about "FPS", thus finding ways to increase it is quite interesting. - Overall. I could not understand why my system suffered such significant "FPS" drops, and I've been convinced that major cities guarantee low FPS. * Yet the test I did, it was quite the opposite. - But I did lose, around 70 FPS. - If I only knew the reason The zombies that spawned in the test area, caused my FPS drop to around 65 from 70.

I was going to pay about 500 usd per card, for an sli setup... * Then it hit me..., why not get a single card with 2 x gpus. - The overall temperatures is a big difference between 1 - 2 cards.

Depends really. * I might trade, if it looks like this.

Well in all honesty, I was in the same situation. * Buying the overall parts today would be around 2,500 usd. I was planning to buy the overall parts on "Black Friday". * Which overall worked out quite nicely, 1,800 usd. Overall I wanted a system of which can run very demanding titles with smooth overall fps. * Games in particular. - ARMA series - Total War series Having in job in building and fixing computer systems also helps. :)

My lowest drop is at "59 - 70" in cherno. * You might be right about the distance, I'll try another server. 28 players in the server. Btw your zombies.

    DayZ at "149 FPS"

The DayZ mission does not allow users to go over 1,000m view distance. * Ask any veteran of DayZ that question. Here is a better view of the 1,000m view distance.
  19. sobieski12

    DayZ at "149 FPS"

View distance is at the default 1,000. Here is Cherno. I'll climb up top, to take another.

    DayZ at "149 FPS"

Ok, give me a min. What is interesting is, that you wanted a day screenshot 1st. * But don't worry, I'll soon be at the city, I've got quite the run to it.

What is the difference between day and night? * What was even more interesting, if I stare directly to the sky, I would hit 180+. The model detail will remain that same, it does not matter if it's day or night.
