Can I Run DayZ Mod? (POST HERE)

More than enough to play the game on very high.

Lets say very little fps. * You would be lucky to get around 5 FPS. A 1080 resolutions requires about 1.2 GB V-RAM, 1,200 MB V-RAM With 32 MB of V-RAM I would not even suggest gaming.

DayZero: What did i just play?

This is what made me love the mod. The simple fact that numerous more buildings are enter-able. A perfect example could be the area at green mountain, you can finally enter the checkpoint building near the green mountain gate entrance and you can also enter the two story military building in the compound. Be sure to check for loot carefully in these buildings, some of them could be under the desks.
  4. On average they have around 20 players. * During prime-time it can easily reach 30 - 40. Info : 74.91.123.48:2622
  5. Define fully hidden, are we talking about hugging a tree and using the third person camera to scout around area in a 360 degree angle? You could simply just look down at your clothing and see what you blend in with, or have a friend help you in that regard. As for why people use 3rd person and 1st is quite simple really. * People use the 3rd person camera to exploit the camera in spotting threats. After you spot a threat you would switch to 1st person to eliminate the threat... simple really.
  6. In the end rocket can remove third person from the game entirely, just like he did with starter pistols. * Imagine people actually playing the game legit and not exploiting the third person camera in player versus player situations!? I normally play on the DayZero Hardcore US2 server, so yeah... way ahead of you bro. This is quite hilarious in all honesty. Being a doomsayer will not help your situation at all, it's the same thing the DayZ community said when rocket removed players from having starter pistols. Going from the 1911 to the makarov to eventually removing it in general. In the end that change helped the community more even with all the doomsayers crying on the forums. The same conclusion would happen if the third person camera would be removed.

After looking over the MSI Z77MA-G45. * It has 2 x PCI-E 3.0 slots. * It has 2 x PCI slots. It has the slots to support your GTX 660Ti and your Wireless card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130647&Tpk=MSI%20Z77MA-G45

Can I Run DayZ Mod? (POST HERE)

Woah, can we see the list of the prices of the parts your buying!? * There is no way that all of that costs 2,300 $. Processor: Intel Core i7 3770K Bridge 3.5GHz 8MB MotherBoard: Asus P8Z77-M LGA1155 mATX Memory: GeIL 16GB Kit (2x8GB) DDR3 Evo Veloce C9 1333Mhz Graphics Card: Asus GeForce GTX680 DirectCU II OC 1084M/6008M 2GB/2xDVI/HDMI/DP Sound Card: Asus Xonar Essence STX 7.1 PCIe Power: Antec High Current Pro 750W 80PLUS Gold Semi-Modular If you want to know why no nobody responded, is probably due to the high levels of jealousy. Personally the build overall is quite over the top and it's great overall * But if your spending 2,300 USD to build that then your probably being ripped off. With that kind of money you can build using intel 4th gen processor, upgrade yourself with Intels Z87 motherboards, get some sweet overclocking RAM DIMMS. Not to mention in getting a GTX 780 to top it off. Go ahead and post the prices of your system parts.

    Re-Discovered First Person View

Vehicles are even worse, just saying. * The 3rd person camera is higher than average, and don't forget to option that you can zoom out even more. - Great tool in finding players over high concrete fences or to see over small to medium houses. Of course in this game to win, you need to have a great ability in spotting players, thus spotting zombies. You can call a 3rd person vehicle a moving watch tower in all honesty, due to how the camera is place. * There is no reason that a vehicle should have an easier time to spot threats than a man that is out in the fields, if people want the game to be realistic the vehicles should only have 1st person, but that would narrow the field in which people can spot threats! That ain't going to happen.

    Re-Discovered First Person View

People use the 3rd person camera to get an absolute advantage over another player. The overall mentality in this decision is quite simple, your rocking is some very rare gear and you will use every exploit possible in order to keep it. If it is to camp on top of hospitals or trying to stay invisible in bushes, there will always be a player that will try to use the 3rd person tool to spot threats, before they themselves are spotted. The 3rd person camera also provides safety and security to various players, due to how easily it can be exploited in pvp combat. Not being able to rely on 3rd person severely limits the player in the ability to spot threats and it can actually place him in a state of fear or uncertainty. This is why I'd say the community is overall heavily dependent on 3rd person.

    Re-Discovered First Person View

If only the real life military can can use the third person camera at. * Checking around corners * Checking over solid walls while kneeling or prone. * Having a great view on rooftops while not exposing your-self from any enemy combatants. Most popular camping spot would be the hospitals, gotta love that small amount of cover. * Sit in the middle of a pine tree or bush and be able to have a 360 view without being spotted. * Stand aligned with a tree, no need to expose your self without actually knowing the enemy is in-front of you. But hence, we need to deal with reality. * You could tilt to check around corners in real life. * You either need to stand or kneel to actually see over walls. * If your going to take the high ground, you need to expose yourself if you want to find targets. * You need to expose your self in trees or bushes if you want to discover enemies, * No matter the cover, you need to show yourself in combat, for that is the only way to know the situation around you.

    Re-Discovered First Person View

Fun fact, your friend is a liar. * You actually gain FPS, due to rendering less textures in-front of you. While in third person, you would actually load more textures and with that you lose FPS.

Will Standalone be released this month?

Not going to lie, reddit is useful in keeping track of DayZ at E3. June 13 at 3:20 PDT On Stage 2, DayZ will be live at E3. I am going to guess it's going to be streamed online.

    Average FPS?

i7-3770K GTX 690 4 GB DDR5 <- Dedicated Resolution Card GTX 460 1 GB DDR5 <- Dedicated PhysX Card 16 GB RAM Old FoV 85 FPS avg Expanded FoV 75 FPS avg But I'd like to ask a better question, average FPS where at? * The city? * The forest? * villages? * plains?

Can I Run DayZ Mod? (POST HERE)

Two GTX 690s will not increase performance overall. * There are little to no game that support quad SLI, performance differance ingame with one GTX 690 and two GTX 690s is about 10%, based off various benchmarks/ * In reality you only need a single GTX 690 if you want the most performance, it's a dual GPU card. But if you really want more performance, and have enough money to support it. * I'd suggest getting (2 GTX 780s). Also, if you going to spend around "2,000 usd" on just GPUs, why not get an SSD?

Can I Run DayZ Mod? (POST HERE)

Your going to be able to run the game, but your going to suffer very low FPS. * I'd suggest looking for a quad-core processor. "Micro-center" is selling the * I5-3570K for 170 usd * I7-3770K for 230 usd I'd also suggest getting a better GPU. Very little information in general, really.

Can I Run DayZ Mod? (POST HERE)

Better question, why would you spend "1237$" on a laptop. * We can build a very performance heavy desktop with that much money.
  18. sobieski12

    Night time gameplay

Night time game-play in a nutshell. * High Gamma * High Brightness * Very High HDR ^ This is what I'd say about 90% of DayZ player-base uses, yet never admit it. * The other 10% try to find NVGs or try to use both flares and flashlights... lol. Might as-well mark yourself on the map while your at it.

I'd personally suggest calling "ASUS Customer Service". * I personally never liked ASUS, due to how hard they screwed up a thousand dollar desktops in the store in my area. - They literally had to take hundreds of ASUS desktops off the shelf due to a factory mishap with the graphics card, thus making the desktop literally useless. The problem could more than likely be related with the video drivers, but if you need more information regarding the card it-self. I'd call up ASUS customer service.
  21. The overall goal I am looking for is to divide up the current "Can I run it thread" * Atm there is a mix of players of which are just asking how much performance they will receive and there are also players of which are building new systems entirely. - In order to better organize this current suggestion, I've got an idea to allow better help both those IT vets of which are helping these new players and to those are looking for help. Here is a simple start. * Before posting in the "building a new system" thread or the "can I run it" thread. - Post every single part that your planning to get with your system, this will help those IT vets to understand what you really need for your system, and find any bottleneck. Building a new system is not all about just focusing on the Processor and GPU, but the entire system in general. Are there parts of which you don't need? * Yes, here is a list of what you need and don't need. Parts you need. * Motherboard * CPU * GPU * RAM * PSU * HD or SSD * Case * CD / DVD burner Parts not needed / unless your planning to overclock. * Extra case fans. * Extra cpu fans * Heat-sink / Liquid cooling setup. Here is a layout, that you would copy/paste. * Then edit with your details * Please provide all the information you can, it helps those trying to help you more than you can think. --------------------------------------------------- Motherboard : CPU : GPU : RAM : PSU : HD : SSD : Case : Heat-sink / Liquid cooling : Fans : CD / DVD burner : --------------------------------------------------- An example using this layout. Can I Run DayZ Mod? (POST HERE)

Better question. * Why would you upgrade each part. - Your basically wasting more money/time on parts than just buying the parts for a whole new system together. If your planning to get a new CPU, that is great. * Is the new CPU compatible to your old "motherboard"? I seriously doubt it, since it's a LGA775, the current standard is LGA 1155 and soon to be replaced by the LGA 1150 socket. - So before your buying a new CPU, find a motherboard. If your planning to get a new GPU, that is great. * Is the new GPU compatible to your old "motherboard / power supply unit" , modern graphics card need a power supply of around 500+ watts. Is the case big enough for the upgrades that your planning to do? * Are you going to overclock the CPU to get more performance? - Are you planning to use a heat-sink or liquid cooling. I could go on... so yeah... * There is allot to consider. Personally I would just build a new system, overall.

Houses, inspired by the origins mod.

Not going to lie, your going to need a bigger map if they are going to allow destructible houses. * Either way, I still personally don't like the system. * I have more of a nomad type game-play style.
  24. sobieski12

Houses, inspired by the origins mod.

I personally hate the houses, they are literally safe rooms. * Something that should never been in DayZ. - It is epic to find bases with loot all around, there never was a base that was 100% safe. - Clans literally build villages with this concept, too bad there is nothing you can do other than sit on a hill with a high powered sniper and wait for them to get out. Unable to steal loot or destroy houses is what turned me away from origins. * But I must admit, I do enjoy killing players gathering the materials for their houses. It gives me such satisfaction destroying so much work.

How will servers be handled in SA?

Who is going to the monitor the servers from hackers? * Since the admins will no longer have tools to deal with them? "Sony Online Entertainment" can barely hire enough GMs to monitor hackers on around eight planetside 2 servers. Are you expecting " Bohemia Interactive" to hire GMs for around 4,000+ servers?
