Will there be mana pots to cast magic!?

I am quite sure there are people that simply KOS since the game has the freedom for the player to do so. But the constant use of exiting the game before a threat is becoming simply immersion breaking, after a while of various armed players approaching to role play with various players. Do you think they would rather talk and rob you or just flat out shoot you? * Exiting the game will only encourage players to shoot 1st and ask questions later. Because you can simply exit the game and escape a desperate situation, thus denying to give players your loot. I am personally trying to play the role of an actual bandit, walk to players and steal some supplies but not killing them. But the current system does not encourage this system at all. * This gif represents the overall DayZ community as a whole if a threat is spotted, as for players playing the game fair. That number is vanishing quite quickly. http://gfycat.com/UniqueGlisteningKittiwake# For those that think that using this feature is the right call in evading bandits on the beach, I am sorry to say your going to regret that decision quite quickly. After the majority of the community is going to log when they ever see a threat, bandits / murderers will just take the killing shot to take gear and not bother to role-play. Since players will try anything to stay alive, that means abusing the games system.

This is basically it, don't bother to role-play because the game punishes that action. * If you really want to obtain gear, don't talk just shoot. -

Exactly, it seems people have completely forgotten what combat logging meant. * Back in the mod, to prevent someone from logging you would shot in the area next to the enemy player. This system mechanic would prevent players from logging in the middle of an actual gun fight. But to get around that mechanic people could just simply "Alt+F4", that was known as "combat logging". -

That is what I am trying to say, but it seems people don't understand the term "combat logging". -

How is that gif combat logging!? He didn't even shoot the guy. -

Being shot at and then logging is combat logging. * Did you play the classic mod by any chance? The only time the combat timer would prevent you from leaving is when your being shot at. If you saw a group of heavily armed players approach your position but haven't shot yet, you can simply log to escape the desperate situation. -

Ok, I'll just remove the combat logger vid. * Since it seems that is the only thing people can see in this thread. I'd like people to focus on the gif. * That situation would not place the un-armed players in a combat situation, he has the freedom to leave when ever he likes. Thus denying the role-play experiance to the player that is trying to rob him. -

sobieski12 replied to sobieski12's topic in General Discussion
The gif does not represent combat logging. Just a armed player walking up to an un-armed civilian and talking, while the un-armed player does not take a chance and simply logs. * I could just take the shot and save the time, since players will do anything to save their loot. But then I will probably see 20 "Stop KOS threads on this forum" -
Whats wrong? Can you no longer can you reach balota death-match field quickly?

Should I invest my time in 1st Person Servers?
sobieski12 replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
Which makes it even worse for having 3rd person. * Play for hours on end and your spotted by 3rd person exploiting snipers on a hospital roof? - O wait, you probably one of snipers.... sorry exposing your natural habitat. Common sense, eh? -

It's amazing that there is no filter option for 3rd and 1st person servers. -

Only one more thing to make this perfect for 1st person servers, make it character locked per server. * I can only dream for such an epic option. -

Go ahead and make a thread in removing 1st person, I am sure a third person supporter such as your-self can find a good reason to remove it. -

At-least you admitted that you need a crutch to play this game. +1  -
Players can own their own server and set the number of players to " 1/1 ". Farm and loot all you want, no one is going to kill you.

Do I need to be lv75 with Draconic armour to fight the end-game zombie boss!? * Don't worry, I'll grab plenty of S-Grade soul-shots.

Server hoppers: A renewable resource.

Well in all honesty, we are here to test the game. * Just keep writing reports on various bugs and issues, but as for game features. Only the DayZ team can decide on that. If the game is getting frustrating for you, then I would suggest taking a break from it till rocket actually implements a couple solid patches to fix the massive gaps of which is killing this game. -

Private hives saved the game from the horrible public hive system in the classic mod. It is only when the private hives started to introduce a stupid number of vehicles, military buildings, aircraft and weapons of which then killed the true meaning of the mod. * What made me love the game was that character locked servers started to appear, no longer can you server hop for gear, no longer can you sneak into a players base and steal vehicles, no longer can you server hop to find a camp base. * Players finally had to actually travel to find gear or other players!!! What an idea, people playing the game legit?! White-listed communities started to appear and saved many players from constantly getting hacked, since the DayZ team abandoned the mod for the standalone game. * But as it currently stands, history is just repeating it-self. -
Blood test kit It's the size of a credit card and it mostly clips through walls and floors due to how small its model is.

It would not fix the problem, players would just log once they see or hear the threat in the area. Here is how most server hoppers react to a threat. -

Well that is a problem in it-self. People are so afraid of death that they will utilize any exploit in keeping their gear. I've played with a couple DayZ players on the various classic mods and the amount of excuses to use alt+F4 is quite sad. * The most common excuse : "There is no way that shot was legitimate, I made the right call to Alt+F4 to deny the sniper the kill" Tbh, I've learned my lesson of not being attached to gear, after almost ever populated server in the classic mod was being nuked by hackers about 3 times a day. -

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the timer will discourage some players. But there will always be a hardcore group of players continue to exploit this advantage until it's actually removed from the game. If you want a current example, I'd suggest playing ARMA 3 : Breaking Point. They currently have this timer system in place, and while it does help prevent ghosting. People will still continue to server hop to the various military bases for gear since there is a chance that many of the bases have never been touched. But your going to regret the timer system quickly once the game allows vehicles to the game, people will have no problem in server hopping to steal vehicles. * 30 - 60 min means nothing to a group of which can steal a vehicle. Or once storage tents will be added to the game, people will just continue to server hop till they discover a someones encampment on the borders of the map. Locking the character to the server forces people to travel, if my base was discovered by someone who traveled allot of distance on that specific server then I would say that is fair. But if my base was discovered by a player that is just server hopping, then I would utilize the same cheap tactic in finding someones base as-well. -

While I approve that your playing the game legitimately, it is sadly the most ineffective way to acquire military loot. Lets say that you just died and spawned near balota. * All you need to do is server hop in the prison building about 3-5 times and your fully geared up. The time it takes to server hop server and collect gear is less than 15 min. * At the games current stage, the game actually discourages players from traveling.
