O man, did you play the DayZ mod, the 1st zombie to hit you "ALWAYS" makes you bleed. * Most annoying shit ever. Tbh, I think the ballistic helmet must have saved me from being wounded. -

The information you provided is quite true, having good ping and fps does determine allot of the actions in this game. The FPS is a big deal and I am currently putting together a video to show how to improve it. * Of course there are both pro / cons but the info will be good. Thus the purple font , on the top left . * On Screen Displays regarding GPU usage. Was just info I was to test the overall frames in the area. -

Yeah I knew quickly after seeing the 2nd player, I knew I would had to play a sort of guerrilla style of game-play. After every two shots, I would re-position and continue trying to evade all the bullets. Being limited to two shots was tough, but the very least I knew if the bullets hit the target, considerable damage would occur. What is also funny, is how they waited for me to come around the corner in the area I escaped from... because they should have spotted me flanking on the hill. -

Really how many did I miss, 3 shots versus 11 shots in a sks? lol * 2 hits to kill both targets As for the guy hitting me, it was the nerfed shotgun pellets hitting my helmet. *1st target - Shot in the leg 1st, then sniped later by the 2nd shot. *2nd target - Shot in the back with two shots. -

I'd say this one hits the problem right one the spot, it just shows how pathetic this player base is. The topic appeared on Reddit. Title Be Honest: Do you loot up in empty servers? The majority supports this. Yes, all the time. I don't typically have a long time to play, and when I do, I don't care to run the risk of running into other people on my own and wasting a couple hours of my time on a given character. Now, when I'm with my group, and have time to play, we usually hit up high pop servers looking for some trouble. LOL, people bitch how they have limited time due to real life obligations. But yet have enough time to jump on a full server and kill players after getting fully geared on a dead server, yeah.. ok... I had a feeling it's was getting bad, but judging by how many people actually support this ideology it really does surprise me. --- So I am curious. Should military loot be determined by the number of players on a server? * Risk / Reward system To prevent such cheap ways in getting fully geared out on dead servers with the sole purpose to just kill players without any risk?

Building a base, having a smoke house in it.
-
Or just bring all the trash that was on the road from the mod, lol.

You mean this?

Hey "Sobieski Channel" author here :P As for the idea overall, if the game is going after a realistic approach. * Cooked food should be eaten readily after it's prepared, but in time it should start to rot due to no refrigeration in the world. Thus a way to conserve food and counter spoil / moldy food should be the ability to smoke the food. * Beef jerky would be a perfect example Creating a smoke house would be an end-game goal to achieve.
-
Did you even read? * You're completely missing the point. The original post was portraying players that loot on dead servers to go kill players on high pop servers. * It's cheap strategy to avoid getting killed, of which btw is getting more common If people like to play on low pop servers, sure go ahead. But if the goal is to safe gear yourself up to go player hunting, it's pathetic. Thus I brought up the suggestion to limit military loot on low pop servers.
-
Once the loot system is in full effect, then yes I would say proceed on with limiting military loot on low pop servers. The devs can implement a lower percentage in finding such items depending by player pop. Once a certain number of players join the server, the chances for more military loot to spawn will occur.

Private Hives have the simple function of which someone mentioned before, the admin can choose what features to apply to the server. * Many old DayZ private hive server had many different modifications. - An example could be the "DayZ Breaking Point mod" / ArmA 2 version. This Risk / Reward system would benefit the Public Hive servers more, due to the massive influx of servers, of which most are dead. * Thus the whole problem of people gearing up on dead servers. Private Hives generally don't need a "Risk / Reward system" due to most server owners only having a single server.
-
There is a couple reasons that would not work. * Checking server ping, what if you live in the "West Coast" and get a UK server? * How would friends join your game. * How would you select normal from hardcore from just hitting connect. * How would you select a 30 - 40 max player server I don't see how my idea is bad, it only punishes people that loot military gear on dead servers and encourages players to join more populated servers.
-
"Private Hives" is a totally different subject. * Private Hives don't have the problem with server hoppers and warehouse servers. I am talking about the "Public Hive", and I don't see how this would hurt players. * It only hurts players that scavenge for high grade military gear on dead servers. The Risk / Reward system would encourage players to join more populated servers in order to find better gear. * The more people, the more risky it's to explore for military gear.

A small group of bandits killed me and my new spawn friends near Polana, vowing revenge we followed the blood trail to Novy Sobor, if only we knew what was coming next.

The doors in the police station are bugged atm. It's invisible doors are taking all the bullets, thus I needed to move past the broken door for the bullets to actually hit him.

“Hello weary traveler! Are you friendly, oh you are, ok…Have to be careful around these parts. Wild bandits roam these coastlines.” “Ah I see my fishing camp near the pond has caught your eye, I once worked at the fishery factory just south of Komarovo. Before the disease spread to Komoravo, rumors say the disease started from a place called “Zielona Góra” or that was the supposed rumor of the time... I only had hours to escape… but that is a story for another time… Allot was lost on that day” “Come… come… sit by the fire, are you interested in knowing how to fish, here I’ll teach you” * "I've got a written summary here, or if you wish this old iphone I have here has a fishing video I saved after the DayZ occurred." * "Your choice in which you want to choose. The Iphone video is located at the bottom of the thread". The tools required for fishing are · Ashwood stick o The ashwood stick can be found in industrial buildings and if you chop down ashwood trees you can obtain the stick aswell. § Here is a pic of the tree http://i.imgur.com/EtpA2iY.jpg?1 image provided by Shy-lo|Gentlemanly surviving| · Farming Hoe or Shovel -> Worms o Can be found in industrial buildings and farmer buildings o To farm worms you must go into an open field area, and toggle in 1st person view and aim at the ground, this should give you the option to dig for worms. But be careful survivor, if you try to dig in the forest the option to only search for kindling will appear. · Rope o Can be found in industrial buildings · Fishing Hook o Can be found in industrial, but be careful the company producing the hooks stopped production eight months before the DayZ, finding the fishing hook is rare. ==Crafting== Once you have all the materials together. 1st: Apply the rope to the ash-wood stick, be careful to not create a bow on accident. 2nd: The fish hook will not attach to the fishing rod until you actually attach a worm to it. 3 rd: Once the worm / fishing hook are connected together , drag it to the fishing rod and your are ready to start fishing. ==Fishing== The system is very random and it does require allot of patience. * Fishing only works in water areas of which the player can drink at, thus the massive south / east coastlines of chernarus atm do not work for fishing. * To start fishing you must be in 1st person view camera, scroll over the water and select start fishing * An option called "Check the bait" will appear , select this option every 5 - 15 sec to check the status of the bait. * Once the red font appears saying the fish had bitten the bait, "QUICKLY" scroll and select "pull out" option. * Do not move while fishing or the whole process will re-set. == Fish Cooking== * Can you cook the whole fish? No, atm. * To cook the fish, you must use a knife to create a fish fillet. * But hold on, the type of knife heavily matters in this case, just like the hacksaw spills the most beans from a can, while the can openers always opens at 100%. A similar system is also in place for gutting animals Currents tests have show the machete to keep the least amount of edible fish. * Machete stats = 5% to 60% food from a fish to a fish fillet * Kitchen knife = 70% to 85% food from a fish to a fish fillet Cooking seems to be bugged atm for the experimental, reason being that food quickly goes from raw to burned but there is a rare chance for the good to properly cook.! Here is a list of pictures of which foods you can eat and not eat. That is all the information I know my friend I hope this information can help you in the future. Ah yes, if you ever find batteries for that iphone here is the link to my fishing video. Good luck out there survivor. If you have any questions, I'll try my best to answer them.

The ashwood tree is commonly near swap areas on the map. I've heard from many players that a massive number of trees are near the "Berezino" area... -
People copying dayz are doing it wrong.

I can't believe I didn't think about hitting a zombie, going to test it right now. * brb lol Just finished testing, it works just like the old ash-wood stick. * If only you can cast and catch players with the fishing hook... lol Sadly I've gotten no option atm to add water to the pot, I've tried to drag the water bottle / canteen the pot, nothing. * I've tried to carry the pot into the water, still nothing.
