You're lucky! Most guys have guns. Just play around with him with the direct chat. Make scary noises or something.

When you spawn, look on the bottom right and it should say Chernarus(sorry bad spelling) "LOOK HERE" xxxxxxxx You should have a map open (dayzmap.info) and see which city he's in. With the coast on your right shoulder, you'll be heading towards the right and vice versa. At first, it's very frustrating but eventually, you'll get the hang of it. Also as others have mentioned, you should get skype or some sort of chat system. Direct chat is usually the only thing you can use and it's only for people around your area.

I think it's the servers you play on. I've played on a server that had 40+ people that ran incredibly smooth and another one that made the game run 15fps

The nice people out there are very few unfortunately. It feels great to meet someone that helps you though.

In game, you gotta be in Direct chat/channel(which is white) and if I recall, it's only to people within a 20 meter radius(correct me cause I'm wrong). Global and vehicle chat channels don't work but global works in the lobby when you're loading the game. Hold caps lock to use your microphone and double tap to leave it on(which i don't suggest you do).

It's only for Windows XP BUSINESS programs which I don't think you'll be using. Professional is only for, you guessed it, professionals such as businessmen and that sort. On my PC, I had vista 64 premium and never needed to use any of those things. That'll run all modern games. That is a beast PC.

i am running windows 7 64 ultimate and it runs just fine. All my friends are running it on Windows 7 also. Did you get that PC yet?

I am/was a frequent CoD player yet I don't shoot people. But I'm not 13-16, maybe we need to teach them a lesson.

I'd prefer bandit/medic/niceguy skins so I know who to kill and who to help.
