I would just like to say I lost my character when server restarted. But Thank you devs and server hosts for providing a great alpha to test and improve along with you guys I really enjoy this experience. Thank You. BL1P. No sarcasm ! -

I have noticed that some servers restart every hour to re load loot and that on those servers character data is lost on the restart this has happened to myself and a few friends. We generally only loose our character data if the server restarts or recovers from a crash. Could servers forcing restarts so often be the cause of the data wipes of characters in some cases ? I think it could be possible that we see the server back in the list after a restart and reconnect before the server has had chance to finish loading up all the servers loot etc and that player info is lost at this point. Maybe do not alow connection for 1min after a restart to alow servers to level out before players connect ? -
No I don't like that a server restart resets the loot. (some servers restart every hour) But I guess that its just temporary. I hope that it gets removed from the greedy hands of server admins and loot is governed by the Hive not the server.

Its because hes trying to use something in his config that isn't in the game. Thats why the error pops up -
Its probably just a test thing. Normally they allow time setting or they make servers use the local time of the server. I think something went wonky with the setDate getSystemTime; Part of the code :) As for what servers you have a profile on you have a history tab I guess thats as close as they have gone so far. If your not server hopping a lot history tab is a good thing :)

@wingman Arma is celestially correct hence the moons cycles. So what ever date the mission is set at will have correct moon cycle.

I would like to see vehicles in DayZ get more complicated especially the aircraft. I have a few m8s who play the DCS games and they assure me that the avionics and flight mechanics in those games are a lot harder compared to the ArmA system. Seeing as how Mr Halls vision of DayZ is a harsh unforgiving anti game environment, it would be a step in the right direction to have at least the hardcore mode simulate something like the DCS system for aircraft. Make land based vehicles use a 3 pedal and gearshift system as well. I do believe that BIS has a working model that complicates the avionics and flight mechanics somewhat in their Take on Helicopters game. With all the great new systems they are putting in place for the infantry side of things and the survival side of things. Especially the implementation of a hardcore server version which removes the arcade style 3rd person view. An overhaul of the current anyone can drive and fly system in the ArmA2 engine should be looked at IMHO. An in game Book/Manual could be implemented that takes you through the start up system for the more complicated avionics of the helicopters and the flight mechanics etc. If they did this so that the new systems where on the Hardcore servers and leave it as is for the Casual servers they could once again cater to both sides of the coin. What ya think ?

Yer not quite the same but like you say similar principle, as most using headless would use affinity to ensure the cores used. Sounds cool :)

Headless client is also a good workaround but as stated before most of the current servers would not benefit from that system only high end dedicated servers would benefit. If they allow headless to handle all the Infected on dedicated servers I would imagine you could possibly double the amount of Infected on good dedicated servers in the end.

I still feel this would be a good idea for the Hardcore servers and leave Regular servers with the current flight mechanics or the lowest TOH mechanics. It would add more depth to the Hardcore rather than just no 3rd.

Forces the use of an older version of directX as far as I remember This is physical cores not virtual -cpucount= These two values can be lowered to help with fps sometimes (in the C:\Users\YOU\Documents\DayZ folder in the .DayZProfile file) viewDistance=####;preferredObjectViewDistance=####; where #### is a numeric valueBear in mind that a minimum I think should be 1k as that seems the distance an other player is first rendered with the bubble system.Lower than that and you risk them seeing you but you unable to see them.The above is unconfirmed by a dev as of yet. Using -winxp might (I am unsure) also make you use less memory because of the -winxp mem limit thingy.
