You can lower your client view distance in the .DayZProfile but you cannot raise it above the servers max setting. You can also do the same with object draw distance Both of these seem to be overwritten by the MPplayer Bubble feature added in DayZ if a player is outside the Bubble it seems that you cannot see that model. It also seems that the Bubble range is about 1k (did quite a bit of testing with a m8) If our tests where correct then it would seem server view distance is 3k max going by what the default .DayZProfile settings showed. Obviously weather reduces that most times But the player model isn't drawn after 1k anyway. If that last part is true there really is no reason to have a draw distance greater than 1k, except to draw objects for orientation. Of course our tests could have been wrong and all that was based on a faulty test :) Either way I set my own settings at viewDistance=1500;preferredObjectViewDistance=1500; As I don't have the best rig in the world :P

If you are logged in as admin you can kick using player name or ID. But you will risk getting your server removed from the host with no refund.

Good poll although hard to read the results really All moot for me though. The Barbie doll servers will have their own hive as will the Hardcore servers soon so it doesn't matter anymore. They can then do what ever they want with the Barbie vision mode, as I wont care as long as it doesn't have any effect on the 1st person mode servers.

Lets hope VAC is cataloging the Hackers and then will soon do a massive ban removing the steam accounts and all their games. For some of these script kiddies that's gona cost them alot of money and mummy wont be happy. I think VAC should report them to their isp as well so that they loose internet connection with a letter sent to the home owners explaining why they have lost their internet. A list should be published of all names of banned people by BE and VAC. Steam account names ingame names and ip address with the name of the provider.

When you have the chains the desync you see when pressing P is not correct, your game is no longer updating the information fast enough to relay the info to the player page. You may see yourself with a 0 desync but infact you probably have 100000 desync. This desync is a massive problem since the last update.

Well his video just destroyed the I only use third when I am not in PvP to walk around argument. As he said if they had been using 3rd while walking around they would have spotted him. Apart from it makes my barbie doll look pretty, I cant see any more arguments that support 3rd. Hardcore Mode and Barbie Mode should be the server browser filter options.

Has there been any fixes added that will stop the Rubber banding and High desynch when in proximity to another player? I was hoping that you maybe just forgot to add them to the list of fixes.

Heh I have played within those groups and it does make life 100% easier as you explained. I am in quite quandary really over the implementation of aircraft. I want the game to be really really hard specially on Hardcore. I would say make them hard as f##k to fly and operate, rather than remove them but if they are left alone (as they are now), I would say remove them. (at least on hardcore servers dont really care what happens on casual)

Hmm as much as I would like choppers and civilian planes in, you do make a very good point. making them extremely hard to learn to fly could be an answer ? Although there are very good points to be had that high end military vehicles not be in the final game. Maybe civilian aircraft only ?

@SoulFirez Although I disagree with making all servers 3rd person. You can have my beans for well a presented and rational argument for your case :)

Incorrect 3PP makes using vehicles easier it is not essential. Also it looks very much like mirrors are coming into DayZ from ArmaA3 (check the .cfg for the pip line) Even better would be if the stances came in as well then looking over a small wall would be less dangerous

Obviously not or there wouldn't have been so many debates on the subject. Over the past 12 years. :) I dislike 3rd always have done. So I always when possible play on 1st only servers. have done since Operation Flashpoint. But hey if its on other servers I don't use, that's fine by me. What I wouldn't like is if they attempted some half assed fix on 3rd and made all servers 3rd. So atm from my own point of view. Separate servers with separate hives is good. Fixing :) 3rd and still keeping separate servers and hives is good. Fixing :) 3rd and making all servers 3rd is bad. Fixing :) 3rd and making all servers 1st only would be funny.

Its a forum I will discuss what I please as long as it remains within the boundaries of the forum rules. For example :- I wouldn't call you ignorant as that is classed as an inflammatory post and against the forum rules.

Fair enough. Although that would be covered in the Hardcore and Casual servers Hardcore would have more complicated control systems. and Casual would remain the same.

@monkfish You are assuming that there is nobody who dislikes 3pp so much they would rather not play dayz than play with a disembodied camera view. Have you got that now ? Do you understand ? Assuming your arguments are correct and that everyone else on the forums should follow your ideals is wrong. Although to be fair if this only effects 3PP servers I dont care and should stop posting here. If it was to replace the 1st person only servers then it does effect me and ill stay :)
