To fix server hopping, or not to fix server hopping.

Nice idea but an easier fix is 1 character per server -
as title says the server swe1 is running a no cd key version with battle eye off. needs removing so hackers cant test stuff

I dont know the answer why it happens but I concur that it does. Me and some m8s actually experience 2hr differences on the same sever. For one of us it can be 6pm and light.For the other its 8pm and dark. All the 8pm guy has to do though is goto the lobby and reconnect. Its a bit of a game breaker. Hope it gets fixed. -

As people have said the farther north you go the better the chance the player is well geared up and prone to shoot on sight. Add to that there is no consequence for committing a murder since the removal of the skin. So unless you meet someone with high moral standards they will shoot you on sight. So with server hoppers exploiting at the military zones for easy kills and gear. No consequence for murdering. I would say its very rare to find any pure survivor / survivor groups. There is always a murderer in the group which then makes the group bandit. Or an exploiter in the group hopping servers for kills or loot which makes them a cheating bandit. -
If you see a blabla was killed by blabla its 99% certain the guy shot you in the debug wasteland area. Post a screenshot in the cheaters section with his name. Maybe one day the devs will be able to fuck the cheaters over :)

I agree with doc. Its a massive flaw in the mod that players can server hop as they do. Something drastic needs to be done to stop it. I suggest 1 char per server. (again :) )

It would be very very easy to place a boarder around the whole map that Gives you a message saying something like "YOU ARE ENTERING A RADIO ACTIVE ZONE YOU HAVE 30 SECONDS TO RETURN" after 30 seconds you char dies and all vehicles and gear get removed/destroyed. Its already used in the very popular Warfare BE mission -

Until server hopping is fixed the alpha is fundamentally flawed because of server persistent chars. As most servers have disabled the connection messages now there is no real way to counter the players who will use server hopping as an exploit.. Lets just hope they either make it 1 char per server or come up with something else to stop the exploiters. -

1. Add a radio to toolbelt at spawn. 2. Make radios only have a 1k direct radius. 3. Make radios use side channel if you have a radio. 4. Make radios use batteries and make batteries run out. 5. Make it so radio towers ingame can boost your radio signal x5 or something. 6. All radios should have programmable channels / frequencies from 1 - 100 7. Let admins kick ban players for abusing the radios IE. playing music over channel 1 to all players in area would be abusive. playing music on channel 10 wouldn't be as channel 1 would be the channel all players would use first before they grouped up. Racism over radios would be abusive etc etc. Optional idea for devs. make dayz detect if any other voip progs are being used and turn them off. level the playing field :) PS. Thank you for removing the ingame GOD chat devs I really didn't want to listen to Little Timmy aka. L337KIll3rDuD3 telling Little Jimmy aka. Um4DBr0 where he is, what hes doing and what gun he just found. -
Works for me and my m8s every time. distance is very important. Check your audio settings aswell as you ingame controls .
