There's a good chance that someone stored some of that in there or hacked the vehicle in.On the other hand, I've seen identical loot on a couple of the white trucks that were at their spawn locations. I had a hunch that vehicles spawned with loot, but I couldn't get anyone else to believe me until they saw that.

For me, it's not the simulation aspect of the game that I don't like. I actually like simulations. Sure, they're dry, but the gameplay is usually really deep. Remember Jane's simulators? My problem is with the unfinished nature of arma. It looks and plays like crap.

Two years studying philosophy, and you still can't construct a coherent argument? That's not funny. That's actually kinda sad. Your accusation that I'm the one that's trolling makes up for it, though. :D

Yes.Your posts make me giggle. ;)

12000 Blood. 1 hit from zombie = Unconscious Broken Leg
Falcrist replied to Jackftw's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This game has no bugs, and that mechanic has never changed. Therefor, the OP must be a lie. Great logic there, bro. -
I've been playing PC games since the early 90s, yet I haven't owned a console since the N64.Arma is garbage. Sure it's dry, but that's a personal preference. My problems with the game are: Poorly coded, completely obnoxious AI. Scripted events that regularly fail to trigger. Massive amounts of bugs. Poorly optimized engine. Terrible, clunky controls. Lack of any meaningful anti-cheat measures. Playing ArmA 2 feels much like playing some unfinished indie title. Once again, if not for DayZ, I would have asked for a refund. P.S. I realize most of my points also apply to DayZ, however 1) I didn't pay a dime for DayZ 2) It's in Alpha, whereas Arma is a product that was finished years ago, and 3) DayZ makes up for all it's flaws because of it's amazing gameplay premise.
-
Arma2 is literally the worst game I've ever played. If I bought it before DayZ, I'd be asking for a refund.
-
The Mod is free, btw. Arma and Operation Arrowhead are $30. You're paying for them (although they're certainly NOT worth $30).

Rocket added in a random chance for another Tunguska event. Just be glad you weren't closer! :D -
I've been playing for a while, and now that I've seen almost every weapon in the game, I THINK I have an idea of what items to consider the “Best” That doesn't mean I don't have a lot to learn. I'm wondering, what gear would you choose if you had access to anything currently in DayZ? Primary weapon: SVD Camo with 4 magazines (or an AS50 with 4×M107 mags) Secondary weapon: M9SD with 6 magazines Cloths: Ghillie suit Backpack: Coyote Pack Optics: Range Finder, Night Vision Tools: Knife, Hatchet, Matches, Toolbox, Entrenching tool, GPS, Compass, and I don't care about everything else*. Supplies: 2×Morphine, 4×Bandage, 4×Steak, 2×Canteen, Antibiotics Maybe an M16 ACOG in the backpack with a few mags. *The GPS has a built in map, I don't need a watch to see what time it is, and I'll never use a flashlight.

Happened again last night on a server with about 10 people on it just after I logged out. Of the 4 other people in TS, 3 were killed and another had to alt-F4. The hacker was firing what sounded like a DMR at everyone on the server from one location. Only two of them were in the same area of the map.
-
You know, he failed to grasp that concept last time. What makes you think this time will be different? To be fair, I chuckled a little. ;)
-
So now the thread title should be:“Every kill in DayZ is fair except most of them.“ This isn't some tiny semantic distinction you're making. The majority of kills are due to cheating and/or hacking.
-
Not true. My whole group got destroyed by one hacker who logged into a server with 5 people on it. He killed me first, then teleported to each person on the server, and wrecked them with a suppressed rifle of some kind. I'm pretty sure it was a bizon, and I'm pretty sure the hacker was also invisible, because I turned to look at him (it took at least 10 shots to kill me with that thing), and there was nothing there.
-
You can't lose something you never had.
-
It's pretty obvious that you can't have a discussion about the fairness of death without discussing hacking and cheating.Since most of the deaths in this game are related to exploits or hacks, when you put that condition on the statement in the title, it becomes: “Every kill in DayZ is fair, except most of them.” It's not difficult to see the flaw in this rule. Even if you still want to argue in favor of such a flawed premise as the OP, I'm going to tell you right now that you can't have this conversation without also discussing hackers.
-
I'm not saying you're ignoring my arguments. I'm saying you still haven't actually read my post at all. If you have, your comprehension of it is so bad that I would actually have pity on you.Anyway, I have to go now. Have fun trolling. :)
-
So basically what you're saying is “You're correct. I'm a troll, and have nothing constructive to add to the conversation.”Noted. It's a pity that you're incapable of actually responding to my points. It could have been an interesting conversation.

Looks like you didn't actually read my post. To be honest I'm not particularly surprised. As for your “argument”: you can repeat it another hundred times if you like. It still won't be valid.

'Realism' arguments need to be left out
Falcrist replied to Anton17's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I didn't know that rocket preferred the term authentic, but I've always used that term when discussing video games in terms of “realism.”My philosophy is that no video game will ever be truly realistic. It just wont. You're not actually there. It's not your life on the line. You don't feel the pain. You don't feel the exhaustion. The game CAN'T do many things that would be required to make the experience “realistic.” It can't let you smell the rotting corpses, it can't let you see 180º of peripheral vision, etc etc. What the game designer needs to do is make the game feel authentic. It doesn't have to be realistic. It only needs to feel that way. I'm sure plenty of people will scoff at this, but to them I say: “Are zombies real?” “Can you sprint endlessly?” “Can you respawn after you die?” “Can you fix your leg with morphine?” “Does eating meat restore your blood instantly?” “Can you open a can of beans with your bare hands?” “Do items appear out of thin air when you approach a building?” “Can you change the time of day by moving to a different reality?” “Does your body disappear when you don't feel like doing anything?” This game isn't realistic. It's a game. -
Can you seriously not wrap your tiny mind around the fact that your exception is more common than the rule? You've put a qualification on the statements in the OP that makes them inapplicable in the majority of circumstances. Therefor, the entire premise of this thread is in question. Much like the rule: “‘i’ before ‘e’ except after ‘c’.”, this rule is also invalid. Then there's the fact that the OP doesn't mention any exceptions. It contains unqualified statements such as “There's no such thing as abuse.” Somehow you're surprised that people disagree because of hacking. I suppose that's to be expected, given the trollish nature of your posts. If hackers were rare, then maybe they could be excepted. As it stands, they're SO common that you can't make statements like the ones in the OP without bringing hacking into the discussion. You need to get used to it unless you want to continue being angry for the duration of the thread. Once again: the person you quoted is not “pretty retarded”. He's absolutely correct in pointing out the giant gaping hole in the premise of this thread.
-
No. He's not.The OP clearly stated that there was no such thing as abuse, and every death was fair. Since hackers cause the majority of deaths in this game (the VAST majority in my experience), AND since we all seem to agree that hacking is “abuse”, how are either of those statements valid? The whole premise of this thread is wrong. There ARE abuses. There ARE unfair deaths. There is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’ in the context of this game. It's not just hacking either. There are many exploits to this game. It might be valid to say “Have patience, since this is an alpha of a free mod”, but it's a bit foolish to claim that these problems don't exist.
-
Make up your mind. Hackers cause most deaths in DayZ.

3 Heli Crash Sites less 200M Apart
Falcrist replied to Kurian's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I had the same thing happen to me while I was running back to my corpse after a hack attack at the NWAF. It was night. I had no NV. I almost tripped over the first one in the dark. Then when I saw the second one I was like “WOW lucky!”… Then I found a third. They were all near the NWAF, and they were all within about 1km. None were looted, but the only guns I took were the FN FAL with night vision, and an AS50. I left behind an M14, 2 ammo boxes, several MG belts (but no MGs), 2-3 Bizons, and some other weapons. Thank god for that Alice pack I found in Zelenogorsk! :D When I got to my corpse, the hacker had left my M9SD, NVG, and M16 ACOG. Didn't even bother to loot my body or hide it. Why even kill me? O.o
