If the gun didn't spill out of the chopper as it crashed, it's not going to spill out because some infected are shambling around it. The zombies were obviously properly secured if they survived like that (unless they bailed and parachuted). The firearms lying around the chopper were evidently not. A scope like that bouncing around in a hardened steel enclosure like a huey is going to sustain some damage.

1) a red dot isn't a scope2) normal scopes will break with only a short drop onto concrete. I've experienced this personally. 3) even normal scopes don't have delicate thermal systems in them as a AWS would 4) the test should be dropping an actual scope off a building at least 5 stories high onto concrete. The scope should be attached to a gun (EDIT—the gun should weigh about 11 pounds, and be constructed of steel). Do that, and let us know how it goes.

Heli crashes, campsites, vehicles, dead bodies, and thunder domes all have them.

Because it basically eliminates a huge chunk of the gameplay (spotting) by providing a built in texture hack. If you really think that's a positive thing (lolz), then I'd also suggest installing a wallhack.Don't worry, wall hacks will be rare, so that makes it ok. :thumbsup:

As I said, it's entirely possible to reverse engineer damaged equipment. It's also possible to rebuild quite a bit, assuming you have the tools and expertise. That's a very good reason to destroy downed equipment.You're not repairing anything here. You're just finding working thermal scopes in a heli crash. The impact of a crash is a lot more damaging than banging your gun on a rock (assuming you actually did that IRL). A simple drop from 3 feet has severely damaged one of my scopes, and it don't have sensitive NV and thermal systems.Once again, finding a working thermal scope in a helicopter crash seems highly unrealistic to me. You're not going to see L85 users sniped dead in the middle of a noob traffic area very often, because they're unlikely to be wandering around in the middle of a field, and because they have a freaking L85 to scan the treeline with.That aside, the snipers currently don't loot because they can just dupe the gear anyway. When gear becomes harder to acquire, you won't see this behavior anymore. Corpses will get looted. Does that mean L85s will never be left to rot on someone's corpse? No, but it will be a very very rare occurrence. That's the point. There will always be more L85s entering circulation than there will be leaving circulation. It's only a matter of time before they become common. It doesn't matter how rare their droprate is. Again, inflation means that it's only a matter of time before they become common. Says who? Currently people destroy tents full of gear without taking anything because they assume it's all duped and/or hacked in, and because they can just dupe that kind of gear anyway. Again, very rare when the person killed has an L85. How often do you seriously think servers go down? When servers do go down, clans that play on them usually have enough notice to move their gear to another server. You actually think entire clans will quit suddenly? No. Clans will drift in and out of the game, but I doubt you'll ever see an entire clan just stop playing all at the same time.As a clan starts to thin out, you'll see the players who are left gain more and more access to high end gear, including L85s. Some of the guys will certainly log out with the gear on them, but if they know they're quitting they're highly likely to donate it to someone else. They don't need to stay around forever. They need to stay around long enough that the number of them leaving circulation is smaller than the number entering circulation.And the vast VAST majority of them will remain in circulation for a very long time. Everything in the game will become more and more common as time goes by, but the high end gear will feel the full effect of this inflation. 1) It doesn't matter how rare they are. They shouldn't be in the game in the first place.2) They won't be rare after item inflation takes its course. After a few months, I would expect most clans to have several of them.

I'm sorry, I've only said that I own one TWICE.Let me say it again since you obviously can't read. I have an L85AWS. As a matter of fact, it duped today, and I haven't had the heart to dispose of the one that's still in my tent. Please read my post before you post a response. It makes you look silly when you argue against a point I didn't make. The problem is that none of the things you mentioned alter the game in such a dramatic way as thermal. I'm not opposed to gear giving an advantage, but this isn't world of warcraft. Gear shouldn't be the deciding factor. With the L85, it really is. The difference in the advantage you gain from a thermal scope is at least one order greater than the advantage you gain from having a AM rifle. That's far too much. In case you're one of the people who believe that balance should never be a consideration, it's ALSO not realistic for these things to be lying around in a helicopter crash site in tact, and require no battery.

It's not that hard to get this gear if you know how to raid the airfield and stary, and how to find crash sites. It's much easier to find crash sites if you own a server, or know when it restarts. Isn't that what I said?Thermal completely negates concealment in the game. It's unrealistic to expect to find one in a helicopter crash. It's a detriment to gameplay. It needs to be removed. You keep mentioning dupers… what do you think would happen in a dupe/hack/bug free environment? Almost every single L85 would remain in circulation while more and more would be found. These things would proliferate much faster than you seem to estimate.

Yea, but that's nowhere near as important. Hell, Ghillie suits aren't that hard to find anyway.Thermal needs to go. Darkness needs to be less stupidly black so that NVGs aren't a requirement for night play (or just make NVGs a bit more common). AM rifles need to be a touch less accurate and easy to use (you really, really shouldn't be able to shoulder fire these things). Zombies need to be more of a threat to geared players too. They're hardly even an annoyance at the moment.

Normally you can peak through the bushes without exposing yourself so much that you're blatantly visible. With a L85, anyone with even a foot exposed will be very obvious.This scope is a detriment to the gameplay. In addition, there's no reason to think you'd find one in the airfield or any of the chopper crashes. There's no reason for it to be here, and it's not adding anything. It really needs to go.

The maps should only be bigger if there are more players per server. What would be even better is if the freaking military spawns were better spread out. Having two major cities, and only one location with barracks is kinda dumb from a gameplay perspective.

The problem isn't the duping. The problem is the gun. Duping and hacking only amplifies the problem.

Thermal has absolutely no place in this game. It needs to go away. P.S. I do have one. I really wouldn't mind losing it if it meant nobody had one.

I just got my first L85 last night, and I'm going to have to agree. There's no reason for this thing to be in the game.
