I'd suggest using Skype for chat if you both have headsets. My suggestion to find each other is, when you spawn, look in the bottom right hand corner and it should tell you where you are on the second line, use the map given to you by GTB. Find a landmark and head along the beaches. Clouds go from East to West. So if you are running against the clouds, you are going East. Good luck.

I believe that this is a bug. I've seen this multiple times too. Probably just something to due with the ArmA II engine itself & it's compatibility with DayZ.

Any combat in this mod really gets your heart racing. For example, I was walking through the woods outside of Prig (small town just outside of Cherno (Couldn't remember the full name)) when I saw an ATV, it had full gas and everything. Then I see some guy with an axe come out from behing a tree and not even a second later, he just starts bashing me with it, I raised my AKM and unloaded about 3 bullets until he was bleeding on the ground and then ALT+F4'd like a noob. I took the ATV. But I noticed that my heart was racing. Winning feels good! Wasn't much of a fair fight though, Paul Bunyan v. a gun weilding maniac trying to steal your ATV.

Yes, they can get annoying, but have you thought of how fun it would be if there was no challenge? The Zeds in DayZ are incredibly stupid, and don't offer much of a challenge. Players however make you act cautiously and what not. I suggest take more precautions, shoot first, stay low in grass, try to hide if you are unarmed, and if the person saw you and says friendly, don't trust them. Most survivors will shoot you in the back at the end of the day. Only trust people you know im real life. They are much less likely to betray you if you aren't just pixels to them.

Unless they were a trained sniper in the military. They actually have teams of 2, 1 Spotter, and 1 Sniper. The Spotter gives range, wind velocity, etc., while the sniper has to judge the bullet drop and curve. Snipers don't miss...

You are completely right, Terrorists in the Middle East don't complain about a Sniper problem. That's what being a sniper is about, camping and KILLING the person you are aiming at. My only issue with the snipers in DayZ is that they don't even take your stuff. They just kill for kicks. I'd say, if you are going to blow my brains out, then please eat the beans so they don't spoil..

Not sure if thisi s a 1.7.2 update, but they added an AT Rocket Launcher. Not much use and extremely rare but still new.

I have a survival story to tell. My friend and I both spawned on a new server, probably private because we had to make new characters. But we spawned in the middle of the ocean... I was a bit mad, but we swam up to shore. Our tempatures went down to about 21-23 and it was raining. Someohw some zeds saw us and started chasing us into Cherno. At at tempature of 24 C my friend and I ran through Cherno in the rain being chased my zeds and being shot at by snipers. Eventually we lost the zeds and went from building to building and then to the store and fire house. After we got out of Cherno, my friend had an ALICE bag, an AKM full of ammo, matches a compass, a 1911 and a canteen. I had an ALICE bag too, an M4A1 full of ammo, Revolver, canteen, matches, a hunting knife, and 4 blood packs & morphine. Soon after we were shot in Elektro and lost everything. Though I guess that serves us right for cheating death. Amazing stories guys! DayZ never seemed like it would have too many stories.
