Right... So you really think hackers are going to be able to teleport once DayZ doesn't allow clients to execute scripts..? -
Rocket has mentioned that he wants to add more construction into the game, but more like from scratch. Underground bases built from scratch and stuff like that :). Would be cool if you could secure a town though, stop zombies spawning in there! :)

Love it, no bullies (so far). This is why I love the DayZ community. OP if you want any more info on DayZ there's a lot of useful info here. -

I think I learnt the lesson of "steep slope = fun slide with broken ankles at the end" pretty early on haha :D -
I love doing that. Throw a flare at a bandit and I guarantee you he'll try to get away from the light, NVG's or not! :)

I imagine the admin may have installed something unique to that server that you might need an additional download for? I can't think what.. have you checked your map is up to date in DayZ Commander (if it's not chernarus)? -

True, same. I imagine the private hives will follow the update as well with that many bug fixes! :) -

Is the wall of death not just the impact from the explosion? I've been knocked out from an nearby explosion before and I thought it was a cool feature! -

You are right, I just hope we'll get there sooner rather than later mate :) -

Alt+F4 warriors were a problem. A massive one. You find it dumb that it's possible to keep someone at bay by putting bullets near them.. Wouldn't you do that in a real life situation? It's called suppressive fire? I think that's brilliant, and makes gameplay a lot more strategic. Sorry if you'd rather them just dissapear.. -

To quote the newest dev blog for the standalone (if you didn't see this one) - "we’re not just locking the application and data down any more, but we’re making the server the umpire." Maybe there's no so much hope for the mod (at this present time) to be hacker free, but they are really trying to push everything away from the clients and onto the servers (after a huge amount of optimisation), this should (in an ideal world) prevent a lot of hacking and give server admins the tools to fend off such people and make it easier to spot/control. I'm not saying they are naive, i'm saying sooner or later I have faith that they'll lock it down pretty well (otherwise they wouldn't think about implementing such a game changing system, surely). -

Fantastic idea to open it up for people to fix, we have some really smart people here and i'm sure they'll give you guys some ideas that might even get carried on through to the standalone! I'd love to be a part but i'm not a coder nor have much experience in game design. If a tester is ever needed count me in. :) -

If you have a intermittent connection then you should expect to lose progress/lives in games like this, I don't think i've ever been disconnected (though my PC has crashed a few times due to bad ventilation) but honestly if it's going to stop those fuckers dissapearing when they get shot at it's a chance i'm willing to have. Most of these bugs were because DayZ was created by one man, who didn't have as much time to put into the project as he could have had. With the community backing this, they'll start to iron out bugs like this (like they say they've fixed the unconscious respawning bugs). You're missing the bit where sooner or later hackers are not going to be (as much of) a problem. I think it's really good that they've opened up the updates to the community, we have to real smart people here to counter-balance the not so smart ones. -
Well rocket has mentioned that he wants to add a life cycle, so when zombies are hungry they are faster but when they haven't eaten in a while they will get slower as they starve to death which will add nice variety into the game :). I think he'll make them a lot more vicious, but we're getting the ability to fight them off with melee :D

If commander and sixlauncher aren't working, there's something wrong with your DayZ install my friend! One of them should at least! -
Devblog details on engine architecture for DayZ
JamesButlin replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
He's already stated somewhere that all buildings will either be enterable or have some form of visual indication that they can't (barricaded up doors etc) Good news indeed! Cannot wait for standalone! -

How to create custom maps for servers?
JamesButlin replied to Kingspiral's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I wish I knew! I believe panthera was an Arma II community made map (by this guy maybe?), the same might go for Lingor.. not too sure! Good luck on your adventure mate, hope you can get it started, I have utmost respect for people who create map for games as I know first hand it can take a while! -
How to create custom maps for servers?
JamesButlin replied to Kingspiral's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
The majority (if not all) of these maps are imported from Arma II, not too sure on how one would go about creating one from scratch though.. -
Educated guess :). Though with DayZ there's always a bit luck of the draw, sometimes you can stumble across helicopters and yep, there's always the urge to kill everything and everything but there are usually implications on these types of servers where people know each other. It does seem like it was just a huge misunderstanding and to be completely honest, it seems like DayZInfection servers have a nice community going on, I may be inclined to have a look in the near future :)
