I would like to say this is going to happen but rocket has been asked this question (can people who bought ArmA 2 just for DayZ get it free/discounted). His response was more of a: we can't/probably wont, but our aim would be to make the standalone version far better than the mod to give people incentive to buy it. Edit: And as mentioned, none of the ArmA 2 money (asides from probably his wages from Bohemia) went towards DayZ/rocket, I shall be forking out to help support the production of what can potentially be the best FPS yet.

I can't imagine the ideas that flooded through rockets mind when they said yes to him :D Can't wait for this.

No, I haven't. But you can make additional characters and swap to use those ones.. Also there is a section of this site where you can request your character is teleported back into the map, so if I couldn't delete my character I would probably post there, not post a thread in all caps.

I would have actually watched this all the way through if you didn't have to put music over it.

If it happens to me, i'll have the sense to quit the server, delete my character and start a new one.. Not wait in the ocean :). Hackers do piss me off but as soon as I see something being hacked i'll immediately leave the server, makes more sense :thumbsup:

Yeah, this is completely game-breaking for me.. I'm in Stary Sobor and zombies keep running at me through huge walls of green/black polygons.. It's just not fun -_-

Now I don't know if it's just me, but boxes of match seem to be VERY scarce.. Especially when considering the only two things you can do when low on blood is to eat crappy food, cook raw meat or get a blood transfusion. As blood transfusion requires two trustworthy players, we'll take this one out of the equation for now as i'm referring to playing who'd rather stay alone/don't have anyone near them for blood transfusions. My character is pretty loaded out, got an M4A1, all the basic hunting/gathering/building gear, everything BUT a box of matches?! I'm low on blood (3500 odd) and cans of food just aren't enough to restore it, I've killed and gutted a few animals so have plenty of raw steak. Unfortunately i'm nowhere near any burning barrels... Boy a box of matches would be handy about now so I can cook this raw meat that's stinking out my backpack! TL;DR - I think the matches are too rare, think about the amount of people that walk around with lighters in their pockets.. We should be able to make a fire a lot easier than this! Introduce refillable lighters maybe? :)

I completely agree, with OP and the other suggestions, grabbing, biting you. Grabbing your legs etc. I would love to see a degree of ragdolling implemented into the game for stuff like that but I don't think arma's engine can handle it (not until Arma III atleast).

Yeah I think the search function is buggy, I can never find what i'm looking for! I agree, i've found a bicycle and two completely broken vehicles. It's just not realistic. I have no idea how all these people are getting trucks and buses all the time?! I check all the vehicle spawns and never find one!

I say refillable lighters with lighter fluid in supermarkets, makes more sense than boxes of matches everywhere? :D But cheers guys, i'll head back to the coast (i'm waaay up north) and scout around for supermarkets. :thumbsup:

You say that the mod is free, but a LOT of people are buying Arma II: CO just to play this mod (myself being one of these), so we are already willing to fork out cash we otherwise wouldn't! I say definitely standalone, you would have so many sales.

I've had about 15 different characters with fair lifespans (anywhere between 2 hours to about 40) and i've only found two boxes! :| Am I just looking in the wrong place then?

Ahh really? Mine works better with the opposite but i'm on AMD X4 Phenom II black edition, odd.. But glad you got it sorted buddy :)
