I agree mainly with Fraggle's reasons above. The balance of the game was established and like you said, you changed it by adding cars. That's only the beginning, pressure from your clan mates will change other things, this, that, whatever. No thanks. Even if you say, "we've only changed *X*" there is no way for anyone to know wHAt you've changed unless it is an official hive server. I also agree with CaptainCrunch's post. So many people have their own server. I was in the US military, I was in a fraternity, I know how guys operate when no one else is around. It only takes one voice in the group mentioning something or telling someone to do something and then before you know it, you're somewhere doing something you didn't expect. And that's fine, I just don't want to be a party to it. Make sure you "lock" your server to do updates too... ... and loot the hell out of everything, get all your gear and setup your position, then let the public in. No thanks.

I think "surround" covers it to those who have surround setups, honestly. Playing at 5916x1200 here on 3x 1920x1200 monitors w/2x 570GTXs and have no issues at all. Of course I'm not running on an AMD chipset, nor would I with Nvidia cards but there you go. My fps fullscreen are between 40 and up with AA 2x and everything on very high so I feel for you man, with what you have invested in your rig. Let me guess, you're an Nvidia convert and you used to have an Eyefinity setup on that chipset? In the future, Intel works well with either... they have to. I've always been an Nvidia guy. Not a fanboy cause the hardware is comparable with AMD or Nvidia. Its just that to use hardware, you have to have drivers and Nvidia unfortunately or fortunately has always been on top of their game/driver issues, at least more so than AMD. That's the only reason. Some iterations I with Nvidia would make drivers for AMD/ATi hardware cause their hardware has been superior but the consumer is almost always going to loose out on the driver side with bugs/glitches/etc. I'm aware I'm speaking about their video card and not their chipset however I've owned AMD chipset boards in the past and for some reason there were also driver issues here and there. Go figure! Not had any issues since switching to Intel chipsets though so I stick with them. Honestly I'd say ditch that AMD chipset and get a different mainboard that's Nvidia friendly. Running a Gigabyte UD7 p67 chipset here with cpu @4.6Ghz under water cooling and no issues at all.

I just hope after a while they stop shitting on the campfire... bastard dog crapped all up on my fire last night and I nearly froze to death sleeping. Some are trainable but the one I got is a bastard dog. He barks when I'm near enemies so they can hear him and then they know where I am too... Hate that damn dog.

Don't worry, when the stand-alone comes out, provided duping and item spawning are entirely removed, it will be a different game. This is the main reason Rocket and team have stated they will be "locking down" the stand alone. Resources for "l33t guns" that all these nubs use, read AS50, silenced pistol, silenced whatever, won't be able to be duped there by reducing their usefullness to near 0. I mean, you stumble on an AS50 with 1 clip and you have a Winchester with 5 clips already... which are you going to use/keep? In a real situation the gun with more ammo wins. Its funny, all the videos and many of the posts you see have a least 1, sometimes 4-5 gillie suit wearing guys carrying around AS50s and silenced pistols and shooting at everything. That won't happen in the stand-alone because ammo will be so scarce as to make these weapons "1-3 clips and you're empty, throw it away and get something you have ammo for" useless/disposable. Sure time will tell but the main/only reason all these people are running around with these weapons and plenty of ammo is either because they found 1 and duped it for their squad and then duped and continue to dupe a bunch of ammo for them, or the gun was hacked in by them or someone else and then duped/ammo duped, "I didn't hack it in, I found it in a tent!" (har) I love seeing guys in videos running around with AS50 and they bring up their inventory and they have 4 clips for it and 5 more in their backpack.... yeah ok. You don't find ammo for these guns with any regularity and using them would be more of a burden than a perk. Duplicating food, water, morphine, everything is what keeps many of these guys from going in to the cities where they would possibly get injured/broken bones/death. Stopping the insta logging out guys and the duping/scripting will change this in to another game entirely, what it was initially. A lot of people have slowed or stopped playing because of these issues but the stand-alone will see all of these players come back after they see these issues have been dealt with and there is a level playing field. And to all those people saying, "blippety blur blah, WarZ!1! har rofl much better hur dur", have you sEEn the stuff the studio making this game has put out? They have a "free to play" "pay to win" game out right now and WarZ is based on the same engine and just looking at videos of it on Utube, its pretty but the core gameplay is like... yeah, no thanks. So once WarZ has been released and all the hype is gone... all these dummies will stop spouting off as well.

Yeah, what every player needs in a brutal hardcore survival game is HELP! right?? Particularly you. You and all the other little whining tween and twenty somethings that want to turn this game in to a huge map CoD game. A heatmap is the worst Idea I've ever heard for a game like this. Its even worse than all the hackers and DC'ers combined because it goes against everything this game is about. Discovery. I wish there wasn't a REGULAR map online that shows loot spawns and city locations. It ruins the game. The game would be better if you didn't have a map until you found one. But little kids publish their maps so everyone doesn't HAVE to find a map. Exploit this exploit that and all you're left with is a whore that no one wants. That's where this game is headed if they keep doing these things. And they'll keep doing them in the name of "accessibility". "We want our mod to be more accessible.... What that means is they took an awesome mod with so much potential, completely alienated 75% of their original player base so they could be "accessible" to more people, <read MAKE MORE MONEY> Now that BI is involved in this game I hope we don't see more and more of this dumb garbage... heatmaps.... exploiters and hackers are the only douchebags that want these things. Sure it makes "some" sense for the alpha because the developers would like to know what's popular and what's not, where players go and where they avoid, so they can make changes in the final release of the game. However, if the final release has the same basic layout as Chernarus.... then a heatmap can be used as a base for the final game also. Alpha or no, this is a bad idea, guys.

Yeah, since locking the server is against the TOS and DayZ devs have already responded in similar posts that all server setup is done through the server interface. If you want to "test" things, you shut down the server, make the changes in the server interface and reboot the server. At no time should it be locked. Since you're new you may not be aware of this however just to keep yourself in the clear and out of the "group of guys that constantly say they have to lock a server to do maintenance when actually that is just what they all say so they can gather loot and then let the public in" you shoud not lock the server for any reason in the future. One of the reasons there are so many hackers/dupers/locked servers is because of all the excuses flying around from guys that know full well what they're doing. I would distance yourself from that group as a server admin. There is no legitimate reason to ever lock your server. Now you know. Anyone that argues against that fact is probably doing it themselves. If you find disagreement with that statement, notice I said "probably", not "always".

Yeah! Lets compare stats with a guy over the intrawebs! J/K I was only drawing attention to the fact that no resolution was stated so no "goal" for the system to produce was evident and there were 10 or more posts all outlining this and that and not a single one of them asked the resolution being attempted. I love posts like this in all honesty. Its not like you can google "Arma II system requirements" or "Operation Arrowhead system 60fps" or ANYTHING that would give you 1000's of results to peruse and make a decision on whether what you have picked out will successfully run the game. Actually there are probably >10 posts on this very forum with the exact same topic. Why would anyone want to buy their own parts, build their own system and not do any research as to each components performance capability, not even taking in to account this particular game's performance. No need to ask questions, its all out there on the web if you use your brain. If you don't use your brain, DayZ is probably a game you're not going to like anyway. In answer to your question, my first computer was an Apple IIe in 5th grade, my second was an Osbourne 1 in 7th grade. I took computer classes with adults at the University as a child. My degrees are in CS and IT but I don't enjoy working in the field as its constantly changing and I consider myself more of a hobbyist. Currently I'm on my third water cooled system. Stats mean nothing, I'm not special, nor is anyone else that purports they are. Its all irrelevant as anyone with means can throw money at something and come out with a "my epeen is bigger than yours". The OP was just wanting some helpful information about a system without listing probably the most important specification involved and all subsequent posters were happy to obligue with random system information and no mention to the OP about his original system listings deficiency. Its like someone who posts, "Arma locking up, artifacting" and then goes on to disparage about why things aren't working and how he feels about it and giving no relevant system/driver information so anyone could possibly answer him. Its like the forums are a place to voice your woes with technical issues and tell us how you "feel" about it when none of that information can be used to reach a resolution.

You can google for BI specific registry key information and where to find the CD Key number, theres plenty of links to it you can find. If you can't find it doing a google search than you really shouldn't be poking around in the registry anyway. Good luck.

Don't listen to any of the previous posters. They are just saying things off the collar and have no idea what they're talking about. Case and point: You mention all these things you're buying for your system and fail to mention WHAT MONITOR YOU HAVE OR WHAT RESOLUTION YOU'LL BE RUNNING. How is anyone suppose to know how a system will run the game with no resolution stated??? SURE! It will run DayZ maxed on UBER HIGHER EVERYTHING WHATEVER with a 550gtx @ 640x480. gg, have fun taking advice from all these noobs. They may be vets in game but they have no idea what they're talking about with computer hardware. They're just buying stuff that is better than other stuff and putting it in a box and plugging it in. I could give you helpful information however you seem quite content to follow all of these opinionated uneducated computer kids.

Yeah, you have two options. 1) Find the Bohemia Interactive registry tree in the Windows registry and find the key that has your game CD key in it and change the value to your brothers new CD key. 2) Uninstall the game on your other laptop that your brother is using and then DELETE the Bohemia Interactive registry tree in the Windows registry. Then reinstall the game using the key your brothers came with. Option 1 is much easier though as no reinstall is required, just changing a value in the registry. When you login with your brothers steam account Steam is using his credentials however the copy of the game that it is using is the one that was already written to the registry... which was yours. Just go in there and find the registry key that contains the CD Key and change it to your brothers CD Key number. Should work. You can google for BI specific registry key information and where to find the CD Key number, theres plenty of links to it you can find. If you can't find it doing a google search than you really shouldn't be poking around in the registry anyway. Good luck.

There is a bug that will continuously roll you if you are currently rolling using Q or E while passing out. If you are in the "roll" animation - e.g. prone and using/holding "Q" or "E" to roll and you have low blood and have passed out "at least once prior" (this was my circumstance avoiding zombies at the time of the incident" if you pass out because of low blood WHILE holding Q or E or are in the process of the rolling animation, when you come to (e.g. when you become conscious again) you will continue to roll in the direction you were rolling and there is nothing you can do to abate the character control. There was no way to come out of this animation with in player control. AFTER a zombie hit me while in this animation (they were close) the animation stopped and I was able to regain character control however then I had 600 blood and died quickly afterward. Happened on US 10, TOD was aprox 7pm EST, latest 95417 beta patch and 1.7.2.4 dayz

I don't think you're going to do much better than that with that particular GFX card and processor.

It does it automatically if you have that option checked in the Six Launcher options. Click the Options link in the bottom left corner of the Six Launcher "Days" server browser. (The black server browser window that says Days real big in the top left) Under options select the "Update Beta Patch when updating" check box. Its not checked by default. I also have the Force beta patch check box selected in my options window. GL.

You can also go in to your video options, advanced, disable Post Processing and Esc back to game. That will remove all the blurriness but you'll still get the heart beat camera shake. I personally don't think your vision should be that blurry until you have <2k blood. I think that effect starts at around 5k blood??? Its way over done. So basically you only have 7k blood... the last 5k when you can't see and your screen is shaking what are you suppose to do exactly? Exploit the game by removing overdone effects?... great solution...

The games controls are fine. You need to sort yOUr setup, sort your mouse, check your fps, lower settings to get a fluid configuration, whatever, with your hardware. Its not the game. "also id like too see separate settings for normal view and iron sight, in the standalone game." Oh, so along with blaming the game for your setup issues you also have improvements for the game? Well done!... some people...

I suffer from none of the mouse issues you describe and I use low sense settings, e.g. 18" mouse pad and 1 swipe from side to side represents 360 degress in game. Y axis up/down is perfectly scaled to the X axis movement (both are the same) so not sure what you're talking about. I have my ingame mouse settings X/Y bars completely to the left, in other words, you can't see the bars because they're all the way left or OFF/as low as they'll go. Using a Razor Death Adder and NOT using the mouses on-the-fly sensitivity settings at all to adjust. Yeah, ATI vid card, set .cfg file 2 settings for "Pre rendered frames" to 1. Nvidia card, pull up the Nvidia control panel and locate the BETA Arma OA exe in the Expansion folder. Select that .exe and set Nvidia CP "Maximum Pre Rendered Frames" from the default "3" to "1" or "0". Works fine here running 5760x1200, All settings = Very High, Post Processing = OFF or Low (either), Anti Aliasing = Low (2x), Video Card Memory = DEFAULT. FXAA for Nvidia cards both set to 0 in .cfg file. Set launch options for game in Six Launcher or launch shortcut to "-winxp -nosplash -nopause" The only thing that changed for me on Windows 7 with DX 11 video card with the -winxp launch option was the "wierd" HDR brightening/dimming you experience when you run around the forest is gone. Everything else looks the same and the lighting is great. FXAA has a tad better frame rate than AA = Low (2x) but AA=Low looks much better in game. I have had some mouse lag and lag frames on "SOME" servers but its because of either game bug or the server is not running enough fps. Solution, switch servers or try different ones. Most high player count servers are lag-less when it comes to framerate and mouse.

Hahah, what is this? Pay-to-play? Get your own server and don't comply with the game creators TOS? Yeah, just loot the entire map and then open it back up to the public after your have all your stuffs. Both these players should be banned and their server PRIVILEDGEs YANKED!
