  1. I think a skill system, specifically one that would be lost upon character death, is something worth exploring. If it could be in a manner like EvE where it's time based learning... I'm all game.
  2. I think a person who makes a life of killing and thievery would attempt to hide their face from whatever semblance of society remained. Maybe make it harder to be one/less obvious one is (handkerchief around the face).
  3. Loool. I did die to tent once... so I guess you must be right man.
  4. Today... I had the unfortunate responsibility in engaging a survivor who fatally wounded and killed on of my community mates. The man, just ran up to the guy who looked like a bandit, and popped him in the head repeatedly. There was no warning and no reasoning with him... the odd thing is that he ignored all of us survivors to do this deed... in front of us... We had no choice... we didn't want our guy to die... Then later I had seen the worst happen; two people proning through a field avoiding zombies, on a survivor the other a a bandit. Then CRACK CRACK CRACK just a ton of vigilante fire aimed right at the bandit killing him nearly immediately. The gun fire eventually went at the survivor as well when he returned fire to avenge what looked to be his friend... though he got away... his time with that friend was rudely interrupted. If you want to exact justice and preserve the goodness of people in the cities... I only ask that you guys take every situation separately. I hate PKers with a passion, and I sympathize with your goals... especially with people like 'The Killing Joke' around (complete control freaks)... just I don't want to have to kill a vigilante that thinks he's doing well when he's engaging my pal who is actually a very nice guy... most of the time.
  5. I'll apologize for the condescending tone. Doesn't mean I'll respect you in game (here you seem just fine and rational... as far as us gamers can go). Thing is, is that the largest reason to not murder everyone you see in real life, is the punishment of your own demise. As you've said death in this game is not permanent (but it certainly is painful for long lived survivors) and that hinders the real life 'punishment' for murder. Here, even if you are finally killed after murdering five people, you'll come back and be able to murder just as well. Beyond that is the plain simple murder... the kind of murder where no one knows each other's name. How could I warn the rest of the survivors about player XYZ if I never knew player XYZ killed me? Your suggestion that the skin helps no one is not true and has been a stance only assumed by bandits who are finding a hard time living their "hard knocks" life alone and paranoid. Every other good intentioned (or kiniving) soul has been greatful for the for warning granted by the bandit skin. I'm a part of a large group of survivors, a few are bandits and are some pretty cold mothers, but I still trust them with my virtual life. The bandit skin only hurts the lone wolf murderer and rightfully so.
  6. Seriously? its not even been a day yet. The update to .7 was great and does a lot more than just add exorborant zombies. It also modified their behaviors greatly and gave them awesome sounds and I love it all! Sure its a tough road right now (with the near immediate repawns), but its certainly workable. I had a pal walk all the way from Elektro to just north of Solnichiny in pitch black. He did it in record time and with minimal issue. I figure that things will balance out in the future, but just because you can't survive now doesn't mean we can't. If you want just take a break from the game and wait for the next update, they are very good with updating in a timely manner.
  7. Loot. 'Yay!' Such a terrible terrible repercussion. (not) Then in fact you are a bandit-murderer. Put it this way' date=' the bandit system is telling us, the people who will not kill another human without exploring other options, that we can't trust you because you are a dick who likes confrontation. It helps us by warning us about your past actions. Oh helping people in chat... so selfless! I implanted a (judged) in there to make it make more sense, correct me if I was wrong. Let me say something, to everyone as well, the bandit system puts you on the back foot because of your past actions! Why do you think you can murder five people and then want to be accepted in my group of survivors whom have only helped others and avoided conflict when possible?? You want it both ways. You want to be able to kill people when it conviences you... but you don't want to be judged by others when it inconviences you. Heres the deal... you are being judged by your actions in the past not the actions in the potential future. Suck it up. Your a grown man with a big gun, go kill more people and make it alllll better. Because you've already killed people! Its making you play the role you decided. Its the mark of Cain! You are not forgiven just because the other guy can't tell his story. Then you are encapsulating the cycle of violence you only started yourself. You say: "Oh look that guy has a good weapon I want it." *shoots* Then when another guy looks at you and sees that you have been known to cold blooded kill a guy for his loot and pops you you cry "UNFAIR!!!!". I laugh at how weak you really are. You really encapsulate the bandit mentality.
