Admins are not forced to pay for server that connects to the hive. They agree to terms in order to do so, big difference. They in effect read the terms and say sure and that is that. If I buy a car, I do not just get to ignore the law cuz I paid for it, same with my gun. Can't shoot some dude cuz he knocks on the door. I cannot go in to a school and hang cuz I pay property taxes. There are reasons those terms for server control are there.

Considering folks have posted about it quite a lot, I am very sure most people know about it. It is a problem for the mod right now yes. Nothing forbidden, has more to do with you could read the forums and see what you posted has been covered a lot, just like this has.

The mod will never be more than an Alpha. It will get fixes I am sure, but nothing more. Rocket has already stated it will be handed over to the community at some point. Can you classify a simple glitch? and how to fix it? Fixing code is not baby work. It takes time and more time, and half that time you break other things.

Posting updates causes more chaos. If a time frame is not given, folks rant. If one is given and not met, folks rant. If one is given and and met, folks find something else to rant about. If an update is given, and folks don't like the contents of the update, they rant. It is just how it is.

Kill other folks up there. Take it from them. The survivor forum has a medic team you can also call on to help you out. Medics of the Wasteland.

Humanity carries through death, and as Monster pointed out is buggy. If you have killed folks you are negative though it is screwy on how it shows it at times. Go heal the heck out of lots of folks or go to green Mountain with a buddy and blood bag each other, just don't get caught as the locals can be harsh about that.

At its base? It is the internet. When faceless and not guided by a peer group people can and will act out, as they have no guiding principals to follow. In real life you will find them as completely different folks most of the time.

Keep in mind, this went from hobby-time mod to full blown job in a few months time. Rocket had to assemble a Super team. Layout a game plan, and all that in a months time to attempt to hit an end of year release. I do not care who you are. That is a full plate right there. Plus you have to try to fit life and sleep in there.

The game was released to the public pretty much by accident, and not by Rockets intent. He had it going with his own peoples, and was down with it. It became popular, that's about it. He was an ANTI-DICK about it, and allowed it to stay public, and the internets was glad. Just because many folks here want more means jack really. He made a nice mod folks like and want to play. That did not make magical time and money for him to develop it. He still has a life out side of this and a job. A new job now too and responsibility to that. No one expects anyone here to play this game if they don't like it or want to.

The real "hackers" are making money off the skiddies who buy their scrips, bypasses, and cheats. The skiddies then have to fork out cash for new Game keys and bypasses every time they get caught. I almost pity the ignorance. If this was a game where you could farm stuff and sell it for real cash...then I could understand it. As it is, it is just kinda sad.

ARMA 2 Day Z mod is not the same as minecraft. While both are alpha releases Day Z mod is just a Mod of a game. The Day z Standalone will be though, and I can bet Rocket will be there for it. The mod is really just an experiment gone well for all of it's flaws.

Unless you get on a freshly restarted server, they will have been looted more often than not. I once found one, and only found someone else's leavings there. Civilian cloths and some crappy guns. Though you can luck out and find a spot or two someone missed. I hear Pilots can drop NVG's...though I am unsure if each respawn of them have a chance or not.

Perhaps if there was a way to holster all weapons? As it is right now, if someone looks at you they are also aiming at you...does not make for a nice meetup for sure. I do think if ammo was more scarce folks would be less inclined to just fire it off without thinking.

So less ammo = more talk!

If it is not on the Wiki it is not suppose to be in the game. I advise dumping it if you have it, Admins and the community in general look down on using these weapons and will camp you/ ban you for em. It is best just to not mess with them.

Try switching servers when it happens, that fixes it sometimes.

Most games tend to fall toward that direction sadly. I am not a fan of it either, but am too dumb to think a better solution. Do you have any ideas? Perhaps we can come up with one. I know weapon jamming is a future feature, perhaps making ammo more scarce for high end weapons will help. I also do not disagree with the idea of dumping some of the high end stuff.

A skin change system for humanity will not work in a system that allows you to change clothing. Perhaps unlocking the ability to equip a humanity based skin by choice should be there, instead of it being automatic. A simple If humanity is x will allow/disallow some skins. I favor animations/ sounds to discern humanity, though it is harder to implement.
