  1. Use Dayz commander, It is better in all respects. Can view server history and save favorites.
  2. People react scared to play along more often than not. Makes for a better video. I think it is silly. Scary? nope.
  3. More of a scavenger really. Nothing wrong with it, kinda like a crow feasting on the goods of another's kill. Smart playing, you live longer plus get gear.
  4. Name the server and general location in the forums, will probably get the attention of others willing to do the same to them.
  5. No I did not. I did find by launching Arma co through steam worked fine though. I had previously launched the six shooter thingy to launch arma co. Then would drop out to single player and go from there, that was the problem. But it is still a flaw of being a mod of a game.

Keep that mentality and you will fair well. Find like minded player through the forums and you will do better.
  7. I have posted elsewhere on the skins, but in short it should not be skins so much as animations/ sounds. Skins should be environmental tools for concealment and temperature.
  8. I agree. We can see things like integration of other ARMA 2 mods to DAYz such as ACRE and ACE, as well as WW II settings and more locations. Private servers even now are growing in popularity due to more control over skiddies and content, Lingor Island for example.
  9. They are limited by the ARMA 2 engine. The more they mess with it, the more it affects ARMA 2 gameplay and conflicts with other ARMA 2 mods. This is not ideal. Objects that should not exists in dayz can be hacked in because they are in the game engine for ARMA 2. An example: A few week ago I tried to hop on the editor to do some chopper flying and could not access ARMA 2 resources. I think this was fixed, haven't messed with it recently. There was a post about it, but I cannot find it, sorry. Engine limitations can be changed fixed without messing with ARMA 2 to better accommodate DAYZ. Stuff like that and more other stuff.
  10. Cross hairs. It is not as easy to hit without using ironsights with them off.
  11. Yep, I have broken my legs out in the middle of nowhere. I crawled for hours to get to Cherno to fix myself up, only to die by glitching off of a building while trying to make sure the Hospital was safe.It made for a frustratingly fun night. As for War Z, as I have said, I hope it will pan out. But for now it is nothing more than an idea. Dayz has an alpha mod to show proof of concept for now though, so I have a better idea of what the standalone will be like. The fact it is a Mod limits what can be done with it for now. People just have to accept that. The Hunger Gamez indeed had a lot of issues, but at the same time it showed how much potential this engine/game has. I look forward to the next one, with lessons learned I think it will be much better experience for the viewers and the players.
  12. I would hope they were a troll.
  13. I think it is balanced through the fact it needs to be reloaded between shots. In any confrontation with someone armed with a firearm you chances of survival will go down.
  14. If it is anything like War inc, I doubt it. All info on it right now is just words, after we see it in action then we will know. After to mod is opened up I am sure more stuff will happen through the community with it. It will die down, that is to be expected, but I think it will have some staying power.
  15. Play the mod with a light heart, keep in mind it is just a mod as many other forget. Play with others if you can to get a better experience.

American love their Guns and Want the government hands off their medicare! Expect to be shot for being such a wimp. Just kidding? Good luck, while I have not seen such servers, there are folks on the survivor forums who do this. There is a large coalition in the works which will cross many servers, go check em out.
  17. This. Not sure about it making it to the mod but standalone for sure.
  18. If a person started passing out wads of cash in a bad part of town it would garner the same effect.
  19. Without real consequence real trust cannot be achieved. I do not shoot on sight though, I avoid it all together.
  20. For most who are not new to Dayz there is nothing to lose through death, so it is better to shoot on site.
  21. Days start counting after character first logs in. It does not matter how often you play, (an hour a week or 100), it will be the same number of days until you die. So really it means nothing.
  22. Well if you read the article, he pretty much says that. PC first then MAC and other platforms. As a long term goal porting it over to consoles is not such a bad idea, profit is good. Doesn't even mean PC and console will play together, just means more money for the project. It will not happen in a year, not even two years.
  23. I got to watch a good bit of it. While there were problems typical of Dayz, it turned out over all to be something very promising. Good job to all involved for giving many of us a very entertaining evening. I do hope we can have another event like this again soon.
