I would prefer to avoid perks like this in the end. Skins too. Clothing needs to be for the environment only. I know Rocket has mentioned doing social skills in effect. Using the example of how if you can navigate by the stars you should be able to in Dayz. As far as the Social aspect little has been said on it, but it should be handled with care. -

Night-time playing without NVG

I play with flairs and chem lights. I toss em around cherno, and do my looting. I love how eerie it looks. NVGs are not worth the effort to me. -
The stories and videos are what has made this game.

The perks do match up though. A hero pretty much runs A bandit sits out in the hills exposed to weather with a scope trained. -

To be safe, ditch it. It is ok to have per Rocket, but folks will see you as a skiddie for just having it. And some folks have been banned from servers for just having it. Not worth it really. -
Plus folks with a heli can find em no problem.

They just need to run a database reset or something. -
Through the standalone they are able to close off many of the avenues used by skiddies that they cannot in the MoD, because it is a MoD. ARMA is a script friendly engine by design, Dayz does not work well with that. To fix it in the MoD requires changing too much ARMA code. Not going to happen. By going standalone, they are able to change the engine, they are using folks who wrote the engine to do it. This has been pointed out by Rocket, and many others.

I do not care for it. I'd rather see a way to make it happen above ground. A way to stop the spawning of infected within an area for example. Digging big holes would be beyond the capability of even a group of survivors. -

Rocket has plans for infected stages, younger being faster, older getting slower. Overall toughness improvement would be nice, they should be scary, not like giant annoying flies. -
