IMO, that is partially your job as a server owner then again it's your choice. Want to minimize the hackers on your server? Get the latest patch. Want to improve and stabilize the server? Get the latest patch. etc. etc. They are not releasing the new patches because they find it entertaining, there is a reason for all of them. If players find the time to update to the newest beta I don't see how server owners can't do the same.. ijs.

I always thought that you had to copy both armaoa.exe and those two folders in the beta folder, I think they are called dta and dll. Might be wrong though.

I'm assuming that you are wondering why BI is so vague, for a lack of a better word, in their patch notes. In a recent interview Rocket said that the main reason BI is pushing out patches is to stop scripts being used in multiplayer (or 'hacking' as everyone keeps calling..), or something like that, and the main reason why they don't publish full logs of what they changed is because that would be counterproductive. It's like putting up a new burglar alarm and then making a website that tells everyone exactly what they put up, where the motion sensors are, how the cameras work, etc. In my opinion, BI has been doing a pretty decent job lately. At least they are doing something and working with Rocket and others to keep the 'hackers' at bay.

This might sound stupid, but from what I gathered is that these 'hackers' are able to bypass BE (completely or just partly?) and therefor I would assume that this does not do anything since they are bypassing BE anyways, or am I missing something?

Is it possible to setup a similar system to keep track of script abusing and server abuse? Most online games have a ticket system of some sort, wondering if that is something you guys are considering having. It probably will help with all the clutter and what not.

I looked at some of your videos. In some of them it's you with 3-4 guys on a server with 5-6 people on it. You talk like the game is too easy and all that.. well the game is only as easy or hard as you make it.

If everyone on the server dies at the same time it's a pretty good hint that someone is using a script to do it.

I believe that the recent ArmA II beta patches are mainly to stop hackers injecting scripts or w/e it's called (spawning items, etc.) So, personally I'll take patches every day over hackers running around, but hey.. that is just me.

Meh, if they want to be pussies and essential play the PvE version let them. Once push comes to shove and they'll run into PvP they'll get their asses handed to them.. idiots with as50's are still idiots.

Actually, I think it's mostly things to prevent hackers/injection scripts/etc. That actually explains the lack of info in the patch notes since telling the hackers what they did to prevent them from hacking is not exactly the way to go.

Looks like there is a new ArmA 2 beta patch (95168), currently no official servers running it. BI haven't updated the changelog since 95054, which is weird.
