Since you guys are sooo confident that these are not legit players getting banned, how about you guys put your money where you mouth is and download and upgrade to the latest Arma 2 beta patch, heck.. I'll even link it for you: ftp://downloads.bistudio.com/arma2.com/update/beta/ARMA2_OA_Build_95777.zip I mean, if you guys can put on your big boi pants.. this should be no problem for you, right? You are all legit, right? So, where is the harm, you obviously are 100% sure it's not the patch.. Personally, I'm about 50/50 with this.. sure there are some hackers getting banned but for now, I'm not touching that patch until I'm 100% I won't get banned and then have to face BattlEye's terrific customer service..

  3. Posted this on a different Reddit post, but this still applies. Okey, so I got to the same conclusion as you did - most of the bans are happening to people running 95660 or newer patches. Then I went to the BI forums and found out that have been some changes made since that patch and one of them is how items/vehicles/etc. are spawned in MP. They removed the setVehicleInit and also processInitCommands (not 100% sure about this) from the game, as I understand it, it means that no script execution can be done from the client regarding those two. For more information on this, read this thread here:http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?138466-ARMA-2-OA-beta-build-95777-(1-62-MP-build) This could mean there are false positives because of the changes.. Thought I'd share this and someone with a better understanding could comment on this.

  8. There is a 'Very High' option, my guess is that you system isn't good enough for the option to show. Here is a SS I found showing it: http://i13.photobuck...ma2settings.jpg I have the same card as the OP and setting the 'Video memory' set to 'Default' from 'Very High' lowers my fps about 5-10, depending on the surroundings. @OP, what are you arma 2 start up parameters? You could try adding: -maxVRAM=2047 source: http://community.bis...rtup_Parameters And the see if 'Default' or 'Very high' gives you more fps. Also, you should run the Catalyst Control Center and see the cards activity (this panel: http://i.imgur.com/Krr9o.png) if it's running at +90% then it's not the card.

  13. I don't see why BI can't add an option to the server.cfg that disables/enables scripts being executed by the client.. would make things a tad better, imo.
  14. This would be easy to exploit. Get a friend, give him X amount of blood transfusion to get your humanity up = less zombies and you essential could kill other players without any consequences.

    I think Rocket said that he does not plan on adding either, but if the players want to see something like this it's up to them make it happen. e.g. 10 cans of beans = ak47 - this is already happening, people are trading gear for gear. If there is in game currency that almost leads to gold farmers, you'll be seeing players that farm weapons and vehicles for real money and lazy people with credit cards buying them. Safe zones are against everything what this mod/game stands for.
  16. It is very possible that your server got 'hacked'. There is a rather nasty script out there that can be uploaded to the server that kicks anyone that tries to open the server control. I PM'ed you a link for you to look at, I hope that this helps.
  17. I've been wondering how Battleye actually works and what it actually does to prevent scripts being injected into DayZ/Arma 2. As I understand it, Battleye starts when you join a game and while you are playing it does the following: 1. Scans your memory for software that is questionable. 2. Arma 2 calls BE and tells it that the user activated a script, BE sends the script to the server and then the server analyses the script based on a blacklist, determine if it's legit or not. Once you disconnects it unloads the battleye .dll. So, my questions is, why doesn't battleye scan the server logs? All scripts that are executed are logged even though battleye is bypassed, right? (the server gets the script from the user without battleye being the middle man or something like that?) There must be some way to create a simple algorithm that scans the server log files and globally bans users that execute scripts, so even if users are able to bypass the battleye client they can't bypass the battleye that is on the server. I might be completely off here but it got me wondering and if someone with a better understanding could enlighten me that would be great. I also was wondering why battleye does not ask the server for the players information and then compares it to the players that are connected to the battleye server, that way if someone has bypassed the battleye client it would not match the number of players on the server with the number of players with battleye running.

  19. More cars (2-3x what they are now) and keep them banged up like they are. Fewer gas pumps, there are like 12 just in cherno but only chance of 3 vehicles to spawn in there.. it should be other way around. 12 cars and 1-2 gas pumps in the major towns then a few scattered around the map - somewhere between 6-8 in total. Able to take petrol out of other cars even though they are not driveable. Driving a car should aggro like a motherfucker in towns and have zombies being able to do damage to them, something like if you plan to speed through cherno there is good chance your car won't make it through in one piece. Parts should be harder to find. Basically it should be the hunt for gas and parts not for vehicles, just look at almost any post apocalyptic movie, tv-show, game, literature, etc. it's almost always that way which makes more sense than how it is currently. edit: maybe a mod could join these two discussions: http://dayzmod.com/f...rs-more-common/

    Moving DayZ to SSD

    As far as I know, you only need Arma 2 CO and not Arma on the SSD drive to get the desired performance boost: http://www.arma2.com/game-features/arma-2-operation-arrowhead-features_en.html I would look at just moving the .pbo files, since those are the things that contain most of the data, if I'm not mistaken. Should be about 4gb + DayZ mod files. I'm going to look into this when I get home from work, I'll post here if I get it to work on my SSD drive.
  21. dayzcommander lets you add 'friends' and you can find out what server they are on.. but if your 'friends' are called bill, bob, etc. it's hard to find the right 'friend'

    What? So.. let me get this straight. He made the mod on company time and they own it, yet he is the only one working on it even it has sold about 500.000 copies of Arma 2 and he is still working on it even though he is no longer a Bohemian employee. That just does not add up.. my bet is you are just trolling <_< Source please.
