I've managed to find two M24's conveniently in my last two lives. 1) Searched one of the small sleeping bunkers in NW airfield and found one with two magazines. -Died- 2) Freshly spawned, I went into Elektro and into the corner house near the supermarket. On the top floor I found an M24 with SEVEN mags around it. Probobly a hacker or somebody who found something apparently much better on the ground for a trade. Although it's not the BEST sniper rifle, unlike the .50 cal variant (which I would report is mostly hacked into) it DOES drop and it isn't so extremely rare as some would think.

People will tell you not to, but we know what your inner demons are saying. ;)

Usually I would spout some kind of bullshit about you deserving it / your scum etc. etc. ...But I have some respect for you, mate. I would never be able to understand how to hack video games, much less pay some kind of stupid fee in order to do so, but in all probability had I been shown the way and been given the chance I would of gone for it also. (with a large chance of fail.) Point is, I'm glad you've seen your error and that you have a greater understanding of the 'system' of gaming and the consequences of trying to break that system. show me some! /)

I would suggest learning as much as you can being a normal player, scavenging and dealing with encounters. Banditry is for the experienced, who know how the game works and knows how to survive relying on only himself and perhaps a few others. It's not to so much being 'taught' to be a bandit, but learning from your experiences, whether you die or emerge victorious.

Maybe when your not part of a group or clan. :) While I haven't participated in a tactical server, I've seen my share of videos and it is quite astounded how well everyone is working together and enjoy it all the same. DayZ just has that mentality of being the lonely gunmen and a lack of trust between people.

Your not going to get an 'official' response here, so basically the point of this thread is to bitch and argue with others. When the developers decide to inform us how the whole script editing situation is going, then by god they will make an official post.

I say there is a difference when your sharing information and voice chatting. Now you know this person better and you have a voice to match the player. It doesn't ensure he won't flat-out betray you and then attempt to severe all contact with you, but it definitely helps.

Trading is the most hilarious thing I've ever seen this community try to work together.

Me and many, many, many others have died more than enough times. Usually, I'm a lone wolf with a more 'shoot first ask questions later' with the exception of unarmed players. Now, when I first start out, I usually like to be close to Elektro, Cherno, or Balota airstrip for quick access to guns/food/water etc. that is incredibly hard to find in small towns. On the way, while I remain unarmed, if I ever run into another player, I make it apparent through VON or text that I am unarmed and cannot hurt them. Whether or not the player is a flat-out bandit, they will usually leave you be or actually help you. Just remain innocent unarmed, and go survivalist as soon as you grasp your weapon.

You can't generalize a variety of different personalities only through hacking video games you dolt.

Sadly though mate, there ARE alot of script hackers that have the generally the same gear as you. Maybe YOU haven't met one, but they are definitely lurking around, some being more generous to other players with them than others.

Hacking nowadays is ridiculous. I've come across so many damn hackers throughout the past week. I've seen multiple dead bodies of random ghillies and have even had a small chat with one after I saved a new player, whom he graciously gave his weapon to an ordered us to kill him. Basiclly... Anyone you meet in a city, town, or otherwise common place (aside from popular sniper hills) with a ghillie suit is usually hacking or has benefited from a hacker.

I would be shitting my pants. If I heard distinctive footsteps apart from my group in the darkness I would imagine all sorts of super-geared forest bandits just waiting for us to stand still.
